My favourite memory of the community is working on the LMATs Beyonduary (https://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=18737) and 2011 (https://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=19202). Neither set quite got to the finish line (yet?) but I definitely enjoyed working on them and the collaboration was fun.

My favorite memory of the community is a more recent one, December 2017 to be more precise. Jazz Jackrabbit had just gotten re-released on GOG.com and the community as a whole was more alive than ever. The most important part of the month though was working on Holiday Hare '17. It's the first time I made a complete Single Player level for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and the first time I participated in a community project. Despite being on a tight schedule, I managed to finish in level just in time, not without the help of the other members of the community (special shoutouts to PurpleJazz for helping me directly with the level :D). To you, the reader, that might not sound like an out of ordinary experience, but for me, it's the first time I truly felt included in this community 4 years after joining (especially after the first year of being a mild annoyance towards everyone) and working & discussing this project with the other members of the community was a lot of fun. So thanks to everyone (even to luke11685) for being part of this community <3 <3 <3
I'm pretty sure I mentioned the word "community" waaaay too much. Welp.
Drawing of Jazz holding a cake. Since the deadline is, at the time this was posted, tomorrow, I don't think I have enough time to turn it into digital art :(

An extremely simple one, but as a kid I would hum tunes from the game at school all day (Yes even during class). The game's soundtrack is what stuck with me the most ever since, and when youtube became a thing I would play extended versions of the tracks on repeat while drawing. My favs are the themes from the laboratory level, medieval jam, dark groove, Jazz be damned, and of course the end credits theme.

My favorite memory was stumbling on Jazz Jackrabbit while learning how BBS's work. It was one of the first games I downloaded (and then purchased, as I believe it was based on the Shareware model of the time). Really was a fun game and opened doors to the online communities that existed to me.

I remember when playing JJ1 with my brother, along with other great games. Every summer we would sit down and play JJ1 and games like DOOM, Blood, Descent, Warcraft 2 and other classics. Never really finished all the episodes as we would start again from the beginning every summer, cool times I still refer to JJ1 as one of the best side-scroller games ever made on PC, I did not love JJ2 that much as it was very tiny compared to JJ1 ( too nice resolution for me ).

I used to play JJ2 a lot with my sister back in the day. My favorite moments involved when we would finally beat a boss after several tries. It was so satisfying. And because my sis was so young at the time, it would feel awesome when she pulled a clutch move :D.

As a kid born in the 90's Jazz Jackrabbit was one of the first games i ever played. When the sun went down and there was nothing to do with my day anymore i would always fire up the game, sometimes even for the soundtrack alone. My favorite memories as a kid were always music related. And Jazz Jackrabbit fired itself in my memories because there wasn't a single game which had such an amazing soundtrack. Combining it with the multiple themes like castles, the beach, and the christmas theme i felt like i had a whole world to explore.
It was the first thing in my life which gave me inspiration to explore, listen, appreciate, and ultimately conquer the enemies. Jazz Jackrabbit was not a simple game for me. It was a complete world which i will never forget.

After playing the first Jazz Jackrabbit on my pops DOS computer for years on end, I knew I had to get Jazz Jackrabbit 2 the very moment it was released. That's all there was to it - it was the only way. So as not to feel the horrible burden of being without new Jazz content, I had to get a copy immediately.
But how? After all, I was 10 years of age which basically meant n o m o n e y. I did somehow manage to get my hands on the Shareware version - not sure how, probably through my dad asking some of his colleagues - but I knew I had to get the real deal.
Up comes April 30. Queen's Day, when us Dutch folks go outside to celebrate the Queen's (or, more recently, King's) birthday or rather, adults celebrate their being allowed to drink outside and kids get caught up in the excitement. More importantly, however, Queen's Day is like a large scale yard sale. Everybody gathers together their old toys, records, and other junk to try make a bit of extra cash.
So there went my Thunderbirds' Tracy Island incl. the Thunderbirds themselves, there went my Biker Mice from Mars action figures and Scoreboard Hideout, there went my The Incredible Crash Dummies toy car, and a bunch of other toys I had outgrown.
And so a few weeks later, it was time to install Jazz Jackrabbit 2. The Main Menu greeted me with a familiar, updated, tune and before even starting the game itself I thought:
"yep, worth it"

OK some of my favorite memories were back then, when I played the JJ2 shareware episode for the first time. For me, it was a blast! It was like a magic! I played the heck out of the demo and my favorite level was the diamondus one. The demo was SO GOOD and I was SO HYPED that I wanted more! But I wasn't been able to find it anywhere where I live. So I was desperate to find the whole game. Didn't found it at that time. But it was the time where I used a dial up connection to find more about JJ2 related things. The journal site and jazz city were some of those I remember and visited them for news.
There was a computer club where JJ2 was installed along other games. I think we even played a bit multiplayer. Later I found TSF and I played that. It was many years later, when I played the initial JJ2 and I was really surprised to find out that the first episode is actually castle and not diamondus!
I also have fond memories of making 3 maps back in the days with multiplayer in mind for two of them. One of these, a beach level, is unfortunately lost because it was only on one diskette that is now unrecoverable.
Good times indeed.

I have fonder memories of the first Jazz game because of the colorful SVGA graphics, detailed sprites , great gameplay, and an memorable soundtrack but I do remember seeing Jazz 2 for the first time and how different the game was to the first. Funny how spastic the gameplay could get with the speed and the amount of springs in the level layouts, even a new character named Spazz was added, how appropriate. I've heard there is a lesser known Jazz 3 but dunno if that was official or not but it would have been cool if that 3D Jazz Jackrabbit game that was proposed at one point would have been made. if any character needs a modern revival it is Jazz Jackrabbit.

Best memories of Jazz2 I have from when me and my little brother played the racing multiplayer on the same computer, raced against each other again and again. Outcomes of the games weren't that unequal, even though my brother is 4 years younger. Now, after about 15 years, it would be nice to take a rematch, dunno who would win this time.

I still know the first time my friend showed me JJ1. It was actually on Easter and there's no way to forgot that. Unfortunately only with a PC speaker. Thought it was like that and I never knew that it actually had an amazing soundtrack, but later on I had some PC with a Sound Blaster clone and I was able to hear music for the first time. I was blown away and that made the game even better for me for me. But I still remember the sound effects beeps. Those cannot be forgotten.
Happy 20th Anniversary! And please make another Jazz Jackrabbit!

My best memory was me and my cousin playing along together co-op on JJ2, we'd play a lot of other games together too we were always like brothers. But for JJ2 I was Spaz and he played as Jazz. The day I remember pretty vividly was us trying to speed run through levels as fast as possible together. Although on a unrelated note I will say the main menu song is forever stuck in my head too.
Happy 20th birthday JJ2!

My best memories are the custom levels (when I was a child I couldn't tell them apart from the names since I didn't understand them, so when I was searching for a specific level I had to browse them all) and the music (I'm still listening to them nowadays!).
Thanks for all the played hours!

I played Jazz Jackrabbit 2 with my sister A LOT when I was little. I'm the little sister so, of course, I was always Spaz, but I absolutely loved him at the time haha. My fondest memory from the game is probably from the level with the witch, where she turns you into a frog. Whenever we got hexed and went to the girl bunny, we would quickly turn around so the frog's behind got kissed. Me and my sister, being 5 and 7 or so, found it incredibly funny at the time :')
But I also loved the level with the giant carrots, where you could get a parrot. I loved that parrot.

Oh gosh, back when we were children we only had one computer in my house and one at our neighbour's, my cousin always used to come play Jack Jazz Rabbit or Heroes 3 with my brother while my sister and I watched. At that time we rarely got a chance to play anything since our brother was always on the computer (sucked being the younger sibling at the time, haha) so we often went to our neighbour to play games. With our basic grasp on english we managed to install the game and run it and we actively played it for at least an hour a day, maybe more. If I remember correctly we never actually beat the final boss, our brother just did it for us.
I loved the opening cinematic to bits, I thought it was so well animated at the time, haha. I loved the sound effects when selecting anything from the menu and the little pixelated pics at the difficulty setting (baby Spaz, 'nough said), to sum it up, my favourite memory of this game is just the game existing and us being able to enjoy ourselves as kids.

JJ2 was my first "real" game that I played on my sister's PC. (good old memories ^^) Unfortunately the game has disappeared in the course of time and I have unfortunately not found it again.
The nostalgia I get from the intro and the soundtrack is simply irreplaceable.

I was born in the 90's I don't know how JJ2 arrived at my PC but it stuck like a tattoo on my skin and memories. The music, the scenery, the colors, the action, the fun, the characters I remember everything like it was yesterday sharing the keyboard with my big brother, he always picked Jazz and I was always Spaz. He always took all the coins so he could be able to enter those rooms with the good stuff but I never cared I was happy with the feeling of achievement that we could atleast see what was on the other side. We always fought to see which one of us could shoot the birdcage first. I could talk forever about each one of the memories JJ2 gave me and later when my little brother was born we got into the multiplayer maps and it was tons of fun. JJ2 was a HUGE part of my childhood and no matter how old the game gets it's going to be always on my mind until I die.

I remember JJ2 as my first game I wanted to play a bit more seriously. I even joined one clan when I was 12-14 :D It wasn't as serious as it it supposed to be but still I found a few nice people I am still chatting with from time to time (!!).
This game never gets old. I am looking forward to play some more games with all both old and new JJ2 community ;)

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 probably came out in the worst time possible, when the 3D craze of PC gaming was at its peak. But the art, the cinematics, gameplay and multiplayer features were so damn perfect, that enough people gave it a proper chance. This game introduced me (and many others) to splitscreen online gaming, it opened a new world where you could play your favorite game, and actually make some friends (and improve English) along the way. I remember so well how exciting it was to create your own levels and tilesets, and share them with the world. It was a new way to share your creativity and level design. Extremely addictive. Also, this was one of the first games that had clans. I co-started UJP, which at its peak was pretty big, but probably wasn't as serious as it should have been. It didn't matter, we had so much fun, and the community was just great!
And while the game's story was simple, the characters, the world and the community were interesting enough to spawn fanfiction, fanart, and more. I absolutely loved it. So many hours spent, so many positive memories!
Happy 20th anniversary! And even after 20 years, I'm still hoping for a sequel, so that both old and new generations can enjoy some updated rabbits with guns! Now that 80's and 90's retro and indie gaming are all the hype, this seems like the perfect time. The GOG re-release is really cool, but as expected, some of Jazz's green hairs have turned grey after 20 years.

I have been part of this community for 13 years now, going on 14, so basically two thirds of my life. As cliche as it may sound, I can honestly not imagine my life without this game in it. In reality, just like in the game, people have come and gone and for the better part of my life, I was quite an outcast, so having Jazz Jackrabbit 2 installed and talking to the amazing people here was a huge help to better understand myself, my needs and my faults.
At the end of tiring and lonely school days, hearing the familiar tunes of the game, seeing the neverending creative juices flowing and talking to people whom I eventually considered friends were some of the few things which truly made me feel accepted and liked for who I was. I met some amazing people here with whom I eventually became close friends even in real life and, even if we're not friends anymore, they have also helped shape me into who I am today. It's something I will cherish forever.
As for my favourite memory, it has to be somewhere around Bash 10. I was so into it that I was having dinner in front of the computer, the server was nearly full and everyone was exceptionally talkative, the vibe was unlike anything I had experienced before. I stood up until late in the night talking about everything, it was really new to me to be so involved in a conversation and even now I can say that that was one of the most important nights of my life. Without Jazz, I'm almost sure I would have missed out on one of the most incredible and welcoming communities out there.
Heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to everyone who keeps the story going.

I remember making junky Jazz 1 level conversions to Jazz 2 using tileset conversions. So many days spent with a J1E and JCS open, copying the levels over tile-by-tile, finding equivalent (or close) enemies in Jazz 2 for the ones in Jazz 1. Sure, it was a terribly inefficient process. Sure, it wasn't Jazz 1 per se. Sure, they weren't even that great. But this was in a time when it was obscenely hard to legally acquire Jazz 1 and it was a creative outlet I could really get into. I felt I was doing my duty for the community.
There's no point to playing my conversions anymore. We have the real thing now, and it's so much better. But it's a lot of work and happy memories for me and it's there if only for posterity's sake. A relic of a time finally gone now when we couldn't have nice things. I suppose that's worth a post.
AB20 was nice too. It was the first time I really left my levelmaking bubble and actually experienced the game with the community. And it was my first time back at Jazz for a few years so it was sort of like a homecoming for me. It reminded me how much I love this game, even after I've moved on to other things in recent years. I'm even working on a level or two again, just for the heck of it. It's just so amazing how resilient this community is, and I'm so proud to have been a part of it for ten years now (a mere half of some members here).
So that's two memories. Sue me. This game and site have so much more than one memory for me.

I had played the shareware version of Jazz back in the day, however my best memory is the rescent release of Jazz 1 and 2 on GOG after having posted on Twitter to Epic and Cliff B about how Epic should release it's pre-Unreal catalogue in a collection or declare this catalogue freeware as several Epic games (One Must Fall 2097, Traffic Department 2192 and Kens Labyrinth) were released for free by the authors online. I had feared that Jazz and many of these older classics were lost as Epic is focused on F2P Multiplayer games and selling the Unreal Engine only these days...

I got into Jazz Jackrabbit 2 at a young age, it was my first online game, and as an awkward kid I could say that my first friends ever were made on Jazz Jackrabbit 2 servers. Before there was Minecraft, VRChat, or Roblox, I was role playing on "hotel" servers and downloading all kinds of maps that people had made as "Psyash" my horrible cringey first username. In one sense Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was the forerunner to the above games I mentioned in user generated content, it's level creator was nothing else at the time and as an aspiring game developer I dabbled in video game development with creating my own tilesets and levels. In a time where I felt like I had very little control over my life as a kid, there was no limits to the levels I could create and this was how I escaped from my situation as a kid.
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was an essential part of my childhood that still stays with me today, learning about people in JJ2 also led me to begin to become better at interacting and learning about people in real life, and for that I am indebted to the game, its developers and this community.

I remember playing Jazz Jackrabbit 2 as a kid.Back then I didn't know anything about existence of cheat codes.I admit spawning bees(endlessly)diamondus in jj2 Flashback chapter was more annoying for me than bees from jj1 diamondus.I remember also that some jj2 tsf levels were unfinished because as a kid I played only Jazz Jackrabbit 2 the secret files(in 2002 I guess) and jazz jackrabbit 2 Christmas chronicles(in 2004 in 100%)I played jazz jackrabbit 1 when I was 18 years old(in 2011)back then I wasn't able how to configure music in sound card settings in installation of jj1 later I found on Internet cheat codes probably when I played few more times after first time when I completed a game.I found jj3 demo for a first time as torrent file I never knew back then about this cancelled jj2 sequel.I also played gba jazz jackrabbit remake(gameboy advance emulator of course) and jazz jackrabbit ios demo powered by Unreal Engine 3,but I wasn't satisfied to be honest.I also remember when I wanted to play for a first time jj2 online multiplayer mode(when I was trying) I didn't know back then how to configure npc settings for a first time, but now I know.

1. My favorite memory of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is when I received the game as a gift from my parents. I was eight years old, and had been at a friend's birthday party when my mother picked me up. The internet wasn't such a big thing those days, but I had found about a sequel being developed for my favorite game (Jazz 1 of course ;). However I wasn't aware it had just been released. My parents had spotted the game in a store, and knowing I was a fan had bought it for me. I still remember seeing the outlines of the title "Jazz Jackrabbit 2" through the white plastic bag in which my mother gave the game to me. I was so excited, it left a lasting impression.
2. Here are a couple of songs I created using original samples from Jazz Jackrabbit 1. I hope they count! https://lunarhippo.bandcamp.com/album/stuff-in-space

I'd say my most difficult memory would be remembering my seperate main site and forum passwords to link my accounts so I could log in and make this post; apparently my last comment was "over 13 years ago". Hi everyone
My favourite memories would be playing Jazz 2 as my first ever online game. Endlessly browsing Jazz 2 City for levels. I would host servers and, being young, not understand that the ping for most people to Australia meant I had a ridiculous advantage. I would play non-stop Crimson Diamond and Hells Angels. I learned to make levels and was incredibly proud when they made it into Bash packs (Here (https://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/1757/spider-swamp/) and here (https://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/1067/gemstone-warfare-v11/) for the curious).
And most importantly, I made friends who I still talk to today. And a few whom I've sadly long lost touch with.

My most vivid memory is playing the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Christmas levels over Christmas time. The idea of themed levels I could download was just mindblowing for young me. I also remember JJ2 being incredibly impressive in resolution, in contrast to the original JJ. Probably also one of the first games I played that didn't come on floppies. Magical times.

I think my best memories on Jazz Jackrabbit 2 are when my sister and I (she played Spaz and I played Jazz) entered a new level. We were quite young (5 and 8 I think) and both scared about what we would discover while playing on the same keyboard. I remember the witch level we had trouble handling, or the joy to discover our heroes could go into water !
And, in a short time after, I remember us retrying the game again and again before dying on that exact same point : a robot shaped boss I think, that we never succeeded in going through.

I think my strongest memory of JJ2 was just as I was fighting Uterus. I played on my parents' computer back then and they've just migrated from Win98 to ME, and the moment I killed Uterus an error message popped up and my save got corrupted. I played with Jazz and I was a bit miffed, to say the least - as in my mind that was the end of the saga I started with Jazz Jackrabbit 1. The day after, I started a new game, this time with Spaz. Experiencing the same exploration puzzles between Jazz and Spaz back to back really burned it into my mind how good the level design of JJ2 was. I think the crash is the most angry I've been with JJ2, and the first stage epiphany is the most amazed I was.

Hi, thanks for the chance to win this special gift.
My favorite Jazz2 related memory is probably the one where I rediscovered the game after some years. I had originally played the demo when it was new, but never owned the full game back then unfortunately. I remember being super excited about finding out that OMF 2097 featured an ad for the first game.
Anyway, back in the summer of 2003, a few years after the game had stopped being sold and I couldn't get a copy of it, I eventually tracked it down on an old but well-known abandonware website of the time, HOTU or The Home of the Underdogs.
Filesize was roughly around 35MB for the entire game, which didn't include the animated cutscenes unfortunately, but I couldn't care less. I remember that it was around 8PM when I started downloading, but with a measly 56K dial-up connection, this took a few hours. I was very young at the time and my computer was in my parents' room, so I had to ask for permission to both let the Internet connection run for a few hours and let the PC running during the duration of the download. I had to use the GetRight download manager as well, just to make sure it didn't crap out on me midway through :D.
The waiting was just killing me. Thankfully, I remember that we did have guests that night at the house so I was occupied during that time. I think that it eventually finished around 12:30-1:00 AM, but of course it was too late and I had to go to bed, so I just turned the computer off and went to sleep . I remember anxiously trying to sleep, hoping that the game would run and that the entire wait was not wasted.
Got up in the morning and first thing I did was fire up the PC and test the game. When I saw it running, I was so incredibly happy, I just couldn't believe it that I could finally play that game in full. I probably spent that entire weekend playing the game and I think soon thereafter I found a copy of The Secret Files as well, which made me immensely happy as well.
Fast forward a few years later and around 2011 I finally got a legitimate, big box copy of the game! I want to thank everyone who worked on these games from the bottom of my heart, they made me so happy as a kid and I had a total blast playing through them! The cinematics in both Jazz 1 & 2 were the icing on the cake. And that music... some of these tracks still spring to mind randomly!

I've been here a while, and there are more than a few memories I could bring up here, but I keep coming back to that experience when I first started playing JJ2 online in 1999/2000. I would go home during lunch break and boot up JJ2, and inevitably there'd be some people online who I'd just hang out with virtually.
We had only just gotten cable internet and this was my first experience with online gaming. I was still in primary school at the time and it was super exciting to meet new people - many from The Netherlands, but also people from other countries - this way. We had a bit of a group of Dutch people playing the game and while I'm no longer in touch with them, those days were a lot of fun.
Some of that feeling still persists here, which is part of the reason I'm still around, and I do believe the JJ2 scene is a little special in that regard.

I have much fond memories associated with Jazz Jackrabbit. I was born in the early 90's in Poland, where access to games was rather difficult (especially in small towns) and JJ 1 was my second game I've ever played (still remember that floppy disc). The Tubelectric level and music have rooted themselves so deep in my memory, that I can still recall it in retrospect. The brilliant OST by Robert Allen is also present in my phone for some time already (Fanolint and Scraparap are my favourite).
JJ 2 was a little different story. I was getting used to 3D games and some day, my dad brought me a 2D sequel with my favourite carrot-connoisseur. Initially, I was driven mostly by nostalgia, but gradually I became more and more enamoured with its aesthetics and music (kudos to Alexander Brandon!). The best reminiscence of those times? Playing Jazz in the morning, before school and the feeling of cold on my bare-naked feet which winds up every time I recollect it ;D
Unfortunately, until today, I was unaware of the Jazz2 community and couldn't enjoy the additional content, but no matter. Three months ago, I met a girl, with whom I shared memories of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and found out, that she also used to play it. I proposed a multiplayer session and now I'm looking forward to test the content you people have amassed here. Time for a nostalgia trip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksAMOPF6fAQ
As for the creative department, I've managed to familiarize my younger brother with JJ2 in the past, so there will be some private stuff with sentimental value. The first, is a birthday card, he gave me to commemorate my favourite games of the past. (Jazz is obviously symbolised by the green ears of the flying Worm).
Next, is his first attempt to draw Spaz.

I didn't play Jazz 1 until a few years ago, but Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was one of my first games ever. It got me and my younger brother into games and we would spend countless hours after school playing it together.
It's also one of the games that inspired me to be a developer. I am not in the industry just yet, but I'm in school taking classes to be a game designer and eventually work my way up to being a creative director. Nobody in my school aside from some of my professors have even heard of it, but everyone I show the series to ends up loving it. <3
I would DIE in happiness if I had it signed :')
I'm also planning on making a video review of both games sometime soon when I get the physical copies.
My favorite memory would have to be one day when my little brother and I were playing deathmatches on it for cookies. My mom made us a pretty big batch of our favorite cookies and put them in a bowl. Every time one of us killed the other, we got a cookie. (ie if he killed me, he got one). It was raining that day, and every time I play the game in the laboratory level and hear that music (and the first level music) it reminds me of that day. We ended up getting our even smaller brother into the game too, and last christmas we played the christmas levels and had an absolute blast! (pun intended haha) except we played with him for gingerbread cookies. Fun times.
I would also like to use this post to thank the developers for making the game. (if they are actually reading this.) This small gem of a game has made such a huge impact on me, my life, and my career and It's a treasure that I will hold to my heart forever.

Happy birthday to Jazz Jackrabbit 2.I'm so glad to see article about Jazz Jackrabbit Advance on jazz jackrabbit related only Wikipedia.I would love to see Epic Games revival of Dean Dodrill's Jazz Jackrabbit 3 this time as full version not demo it was(old jj3d alpha demo)better than jj gba remake back then. This could be better solution to make jj3d new demo(if Epic Games want to try find a new publisher I hope it will succeed) I wouldn't be too happy if Epic Games with Nintendo partnership might re-release Jazz Jackrabbit Advance for Nintendo Switch.

My favorite memory of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was playing it at my friends house for the first time. I was blown away. I was primarily a console gamer up until that point. I though the graphics and audio were amazing. I begged for a decent PC for a year or so until our family got one. I was then able to sink some serious hours into it.
I recently put together an old Win98 PC just to play with a gravis gamepad!

I remember opening Jazz Jackrabbit one Christmas for our ancient PC. My sister and I would take turns running through the levels. Arguments would always ensue when a bonus level popped up because we both loved them.

It's been so long since I first launched the game Jazz Jackrabbit 2. I remember how I played it on Windows 98, it was one of the best games at the time. It is a pity that another part of this game is not being developed. For me the best favorite memory is the soundtrack and the overall processing of the game including graphics.
I Thanks the developers for this awesome game! 👍
Best regards from the Czech Republic,

Back in the day, I used to lower the screen resolution to 320x240 because I would love to see bigjazz on the screen. Never realized why everything looked pixelated with 240p back then. But bigger, the better.
Took me 3 years to actually kill the witch on the final level of shareware version of JJR2. Felt like an achievement to finally kill that thing. Oh wait, it really is an achievement.

The Jazz Jackrabbit series was recommended to me a lot by friends for years (and I got the soundtracks some time ago as part of a game music bundle), but it wasn't until the games were re-released on GOG that I was able to actually play them. So my memories of the series are mostly of those recommendations and the quality of the soundtrack that led to me buying the games - and of playing them for the first time :)
Not long after the GOG launch I put together a Wine wrapper for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 to make it easier to play on Linux & more like playing a native game :) It runs great, too (at least single player/offline); check out its release thread over on GOG's forums (https://www.gog.com/forum/jazz_jackrabbit/jazz_jackrabbit_2_for_linux) for more info

I haven't been a Jazz Jackrabbit 2 fan for very long.
However, if I had to choose just one memory, it'd probably be the boss of Medivo in my first run through of the game. I was keeping everybody up-to-date on where I was on the Discord server. Everybody was warning me that Medivo's boss was hard and that I should expect the unexpected. However, I could have never expected that the boss would be the hilarious.. thing that was Bolly.
I died a lot to Bolly my first time through, because I was still incredibly new to the game, but I found easy mode too easy and was playing on hard mode as a result. However, when I eventually bested Bolly, the feeling of finally besting such a tough challenge (for a newcomer who didn't realize stomping was so exploitable) was amazing. And the fact that the community had given me so much build-up to it from outside the game just made it all the better and memorable.
That, I think, is my favorite memory of the game so far.
My second pick for memory is probably the closing of JDC 28, where, if memory serves, everybody was having so much fun with Head Hunters once we started playing it during the event (which IIRC we were doing because I suggested we play Head Hunters on Skyward Showdown), we pretty much just kept doing Head Hunters mode for most of the rest of the closing event. I'm more fuzzy on the details on that one though, so I could be remembering that completely incorrectly.
As for my fan-work, I just released a custom episode, which can be found here: https://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/7839/operation-cleanup-turtle-terror-revisited/

My favourite memory of JJ2 is spending time hanging out with people in "Random Levels" servers. I really miss the days when we had somewhat of a JCSing demoscene where people would regularly send their work-in-progress levels to the person hosting the server so that we could all check them out and comment on them. Not everything got finished, but it was still awesome to see the continuous flow of creativity. I also miss the banter and the in-depth discussions well into the early hours of the morning!

I wish to not be selected as one of the winners, as I strongly believe others here are far more deserving than I to receive the rewards. I am replying to show my appreciation of the game.
The Genesis:
I received Jazz Jackrabbit 2 as a Christmas present in 1998. I remember being totally absorbed into the game's graphics, music and game-play, and I was always a huge fan of 2D side-scrollers.
Jazz 2 City Era - 1999:
After gaining internet access, I went to the official JJ2 site, and that brought me to Jazz 2 City. Steven Wakeman was one of the people in charge of that site, and I emailed levels to him under the name Opar. All of my levels there are ***, but I know those same levels would probably get 4 at most on J2O now.
My favorite level from Jazz 2 City was Bunnies vs Golfers by the Question. You can check it out in the J2C archives.
I never played JJ2 online during this period.
Universe Jazz Era:
After Jazz 2 City closed down, Alienator started his own JJ2 fansite named Universe Jazz. This was around the time I stopped doing things on the internet for a while.
Jazz 2 Online Era - 2001+ (2002+ for online play):
The very first time I played jj2 online was when I entered "iCeD's Server", which was a dedicated CTF server that hosted levels like Swingin' Jazz, Inner Evil, JAIL and Diamondus Warzone. I just walked around, since I didn't know that you had to constantly run in order to be a good player.
Monolith also hosted a dedicated battle server at the time named "Battle Server", which hosted lots of Splash, Spy AD and Monolith levels. One level in particular I remember is Unemotional Landscape.
BlurredD hosted servers like CtF BeAtDoWn, and he was working on levels like Forsaken and 60,000 feet under, and he was very proud of Security Breach when he finished it.
At the time, things like lag exceeding 1000ms and a smaller resolution etc made jj2 much more unbearable to play, but there were funny moments resulting from extreme lag and jj2's past bugs: Like when Blackraptor stomped my lag-clone to death in JmaN's hotel level, which should've taken all of my coins away, thus preventing me from buying valuable things at a shop, but I got a "black-screen-death" from dying on a carrot, which enabled me to keep my coins after death. I still remember Violet replying "Kill him again!" :).
While I hated the rampant hotel domination of that era, I absolutely loved the game-play-centric hotels like Fooville, JmaN's hotel, Fireball's hotel, Violet's hotel and a hotel by Scizor CT and Lark.
Spotty and Black Ninja were making foo races and other associated products, which, for the most part, were fun. I wouldn't recommend that stuff for very serious people though.
EvilMike was working on his devres Single Player episodes, and I was one of his testers for The Rebirth of Evil. I found a crucial bug: I got a sugar rush as a frog, and used its tongue to smash a crate behind a door in Deserto Orbital Base, thus ruining the level's game-play.
I've enjoyed many duels and team games, but I'd rather not talk about those.
About a decade after I started playing jj2 online, people like Snooze hosted servers to show off their's and other people's works, and it was a great source of inspiration. There were ups and downs, plently of joke levels and generally lots of fun stuff.
Of course I have tons of other moments, but that's all for now.

do you know what clay is?
Sure I know.I was never good with making clay models.PC King just doesn't explain how he made his jazz jackrabbit clay model. So I thought 3d printer might print 3d models in gray(you know as default colour)colour.I admit there are huge difference between 3d printer and clay models.Btw this clay model is amazing I would love to see more clay models.Well the differences between 3d printer and clay models are 3d models in 3d printer is specific plastic and clay is just plastic mass made of petroleum jelly mixed with calcium carbonate and fatty acids, used for spatial modeling.Well ShadowGPW I just thought he will use colourful pieces of clays.Honestly I initially thought he made jazz jackrabbit rigged model in some 3d modelling software.

Jazz 2 meant for me a lot and it means now, it was my first game I played.
It all started in 2003 when I had my first computer (although I wanted a computer a few years ago was not possible from the financial plan) and now we return to 2003 when the one I bought the computer was an acquaintance and I put in it five games first being Jazz 2 (version 1.20), he used every time I went to repair the computer I always installed Jazz 2 even he played. So I know we play it every day, I was not able to get through the Carrotus level. One day a cousin came and when he saw Jazz 2 so much he liked he got a CD with the game. In 2007 I managed to finish the game even though I had some difficulties like the Dimondus bees and finally the last boss (Devan) at that time I did not have access to the internet until a few months later when I searched the web for Jazz, I was very astonished and fascinated when I found so much about Francis Jazz. From the very first searches I came across this wonderful Jazz2online community where I found so much information and where I found out and there were "The secret files" and "Christmas Cronicles" but also about the existence of Lori who passionately loved me being the third playable character I had not seen until that time, and after a while I got the whole franchise collection containing Jazz 1 (not running because I do not know its configuration at No sound card), Jazz 2, Jazz 2 tsf, Jazz 2 Christmas cronicles, Jazz 2 Holiday Hare and Jazz 3 alpha demo version. Then I found out a fangam called Razz Arena, which at the time was in the process but still unfortunately has remained, and another Jazz 2 3d fangame that I do not think has been released yet , there were some screenshots with him at that time I still have them on a CD but I do not know where he is, I also searched for Jazz 3 Revived at that time but I did not find it In 2008 I found playing Jazz Advance on a gba emulator, then in 2009 I was able to configure the settings for Jazz 1 to run and even sound, and so I was happy to have all the franchise collection. In the same year we also found Jazz 2 that included all 8 episodes in a playing alone, I was very excited at that time and I also played the first time online, ath but I remember there were more players on the servers. In 2011 Epic released that Jazz ios Tech demo, I played it with the Unreal engine.
In 2012, Jazz 3 received major changes from Jazz Gruff, which we hoped, however, to complete that project.
Last year I discovered that I can play Jazz 2 (1.20) and TSF, Christmas Cronicles on the Android device with the Exagear application even Jazz 3 later. I'm still happy to play Jazz games on android even Jazz 1 with Open Jazz. I played the Galactic Rabbit but it's not like the original.
I recently picked up the Jazz collection on GOG and I'm happy with it, now I can play Jazz 1 on Windows 10 and the rest. I like it very much Jazz 2 Plus is amazing I think that from now on I will use this version to play on servers but also to create own levels, yet I hope for a new playable character in the next update (I prefer Razz)
Jazz is and will remain my favorite game. I hope that one day this francisco will be revived.

Jazz 2 was probably one of the most prominent games of my childhood. We didn’t have it on our home computer, but almost every time we were over our grandmother’s house my brother and I would find ourselves playing. My older brother usually played as Jazz, but I much preferred his crazy younger brother Spaz (maybe there’s some parallels you could draw there…). I remember hating the dang bees in Diamondus (which I still do today) and trying time and time again to beat the freakin' Medivo boss (who I can now kill in like 5 seconds). I usually started in Episode 2 because I loved the colony levels, even though those fencer guys would still get the best of me. I even remember tinkering around with JCS and making a couple levels, though I can’t speak to their quality :P
And now years later, at the risk of sounding super cheesy, I even have the opportunity to create new memories with the game I loved as a kid by joining the speedrunning community. If you told me as a kid that I’d eventually be able to beat all of Jazz 2 in under 20 minutes I don’t think I would’ve ever believed you. Even in the short time I’ve been a part of the community I’ve had a great time (And gotten some great times too!...I’ll see myself out…). I hope I continue to love this game and keep improving my skills. I mean, someone’s gotta try and keep the pressure on Binary :P
Also, i don't claim to even remotely be an artist, but thought I'd give it a shot and draw the best idle animation in gaming.

My favourite memory - I remember up to this day, how my (and my sibling's) adventure with Jazz 2 began. It was during Children's Day (in Poland - 1st June), when we could choose some game for our PC. I remember that I've convinced my younger sibling (2 brothers, sister was back then very young and didn't play on PC yet) to choose Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Secret Files (edition with "merged" JJ2 and JJ2: SF add-on) - game, which we didn't hear earlier. My older brother, who was always "against" me, decided to choose some old Sierra's racing game for DOS. Fortunately, in the end, our father bought us both games, as the one chosen by me was rather cheap (20 polish zlotys). I remember that I couldn't wait to check it, as we had back then Windows Millenium on our PC, which was causing issues to some Windows games (not to mention about DOS games). Back in this day I've come back from school later than all my sibling, but when I came home, they told me, that Jazz is working fine, it's in polish version as well and that it's very cool game. I was happy before I've even started to play the game - and later it was only better and better :) (BTW - game chosen by my brother didn't launch, he probably never managed to play in it :P)
Sadly, I no longer have mentioned copy, as (probably) one of my sibling have borrowed it years ago to someone, who appareantly didn't gave it back. But with GOG's release I don't have to worry about it anymore :) (bought it instantly when it was released)
Up to this day Jazz 2 is for me one of the most important games of childhood, and game which I can get back anytime and still have with it some fun. I like the fact that this game was back in early 2000' extremely popular in Poland (probably still is :)) and that I had opportunity to "jump in" and also have a taste of carrots and blasters :)

First of all: THANK YOU for keeping Jazz community alive and for the opportunity of winning this amazing prizes!
One does not simply choose ONE favorite memory of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, but I'll try!
There was this one time when me and two of my friends gathered at my friend's house after school and decided to play Treasure Hunt mode against each. That quickly turned into a whole tournament with different modes (mainly Treasure Hunt and Race) and small prizes like a glass of Cola of something. It was so much fun!

Some of my first memories are playing Jazz Jackrabbit, on an old IBM. For me, Jazz was the standard. Mario and Sonic were judged against the green rabbit. When Jazz 2 was on the horizon, I was giddy like, well, I was a schoolboy. It wasn't until 2 years after release when I finally got the full version of Jazz 2. I spent countless days, warm and cold, rain and shine, playing jazz 2 with a cheap, third party controller, running around, shooting turtles, and having a hell of a time. As for one memory? Well, I remember the texture of the leather and wood of the chair i was sitting in, and of the paper stuck to the computer table from a water stain, literally scratching my itch to play as the screen loaded the intro. I think the B52s - Rock Lobster was playing.

I first played Jazz 2 when I was about ten, and I loved it! Probably my favourite memory was finding out that I could listen to all the music for it outside of the game. I listened to it constantly while doing my homework, to the point that my parents were utterly sick of hearing it, but I didn't care!
Maybe a close second memory was replaying some of the game a few years ago, and discovering that it has stood the test of time well and is still a great game. Maybe it's time for a full replay this year... :)

So I made something but I haven't shared my favorite Jazz Jackrabbit 2 memory yet. So here it is: The answer is actually quite easy. My favorite memory is the Jazz Jackrabbit Event last February in the Netherlands. That day was one of the most awesome days of my life! It had everything a Jazz Jackrabbit fan could ever dream for:
- World’s Largest Jazz Jackrabbit Collection on display.
- LIVE Jazz Jackrabbit music performed by "Floppy Ears and the Big Guns!"
- A LIVE Jazz Jackrabbit 1 Speedrun performance done by SimonN
- A Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Arcade Cabinet
- A visit from Michiel van der Leeuw and two people from Project Two Interactive
- Some really amazing Jazz Jackrabbit donations
- And maybe most importantly a meetup with you guys!
I'll never forget that day and I hope I'll be able to organize days like that again in the future (maybe next year?). https://pckingblog.wordpress.com/2018/03/23/jazz-jackrabbit-event-groot-succes/ - (dutch article)
A close second memory would be meeting "Bartjaah!" (AKA DOSGamert) and play/stream Jazz Jackrabbit 2 together with him. I've played Jazz Jackrabbit 2 before, but playing it together with a friend is so much more fun. So, thanks Bart! :)

I have plenty of good memories of Jazz and the community. My earliest memory is as a 5 year old, seeing my dad try and play Jazz1 shareware on his PC leaving me in awe, asking desperately if I can play too. The next day was my first experience with Jazz and PC gaming in general, even though I couldn’t get past halfway of Diamondus 1, lol.
When Jazz2 came out I obviously wanted to have it! Again, I had to play it on my dad’s PC as my own oldie couldn’t run it. I remember feeling dazzled by the fact that ‘everything was so small on the screen’ and even got a little put off by that for a while! My bro finished the game before me, as I too struggled getting past Bolly and the Jungle levels. As for multiplayer, I did enjoy some splitscreen co-op games with my bro and an occasional race & CTF, but due to dial-up prices and restrictions we couldn’t go online more than a few short moments to try it.
My real early online experience came around 2003 when we got our first always-on ADSL connection and my dad bought me a 2nd hand PC upgrade. While I was a terrible noob, I did enjoy the social experience trying to communicate with bad English on J2O, meeting others, making friends. Joining The Server and other such random games. The 2005 Bash.. But I guess about everyone’s first online experience as a noob was magical!
And lastly, amazing work on that sculpture Anne! Wow!

My favourite memory of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was finally finding it again after years of searching, and getting to re-discover it like it was the first time.
When I was young, we lived in Poland and there weren't that many PC games around that we could get our hands on, but one of the games that I remember playing for hours was Jazz Jackrabbit 2. It was the stuff of dreams, with tight controls, beautiful graphics and extremely catchy music.
When my family had to move abroad due to economic reasons, we couldn't take the computer with us, so I had to leave it all behind.
Years later, I began searching for the game again but since I was young at the time that I played it, I couldn't remember the title of the game. I did end up finding it after some intensive web-searching, and once I downloaded it onto my PC and started playing it, it felt like I was a 6 year old once again, having just as much fun as I did back then.
But the best part was that, since this was so long ago that I beat the game, I got the chance to re-live the experience for a second time - not something I can say about a lot of games that I played. It's like playing it for the first time, but still going "Hey, I remember this!" when you enter a new level. The laboratory level from JJ2 is still one of my favourite levels in video games to this day.
I also did a drawing of Jazz and Spaz together!

My favorite memories regarding Jazz 2 would be playing with friends and my brother back in the day. Usually just split screen on one machine.

I have uploaded a level made for this occasion. (https://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/7840/battle-of-waterloo-1835/) I hope to also release the utility used to create it shortly, once it offers more options and a more user-friendly experience.
I have many fond memories of JJ2. I was thinking of describing all of them that would come to mind but no one wants to read that. Jazz, or I guess more precisely Spaz, has been my companion for something like 18 years and there would be a lot to write.
I decided to pick one from 2011. Back then I was still part of the first clan I ever joined, named \NF/, for Nameless Frontline. It was a capable clan with some skilled players, but more importantly it consisted of many people who had shown me kindness in my first days in the community.
TreyLina had just recently left CDF and told me about an idea for a clan of her own she had had in mind for a while, named CoTD - Commanders of Tactical Destruction. This was near the beginnings of our relationship and the idea of being in a clan together with my girlfriend appealed to me. I said my goodbyes to NF and we registered the new clan on jjnet. We gained some more members who were mostly Trey's JJ2 friends, although not competitive players. We might've played some ladder matches. I was happy to be in the clan.
I don't remember which side came out with the proposition, but negotiations began to merge CoTD with NF. I thought the idea was neat. I could be in a clan with my girlfriend and my friends. I was all for it. The fusion happened and resulted in TFC - Tactical Frontline Commanders.
This clan existed for just shy of 24 hours and played a total of 2 ladder matches. The day after the fusion, it turned out that one of the members of NF was unhappy with the name change. That was all it took to undo the merge. There was an unforeseen consequence to it: to handle the merge on the site, Nerd, a leader of NF and a jjnet admin, only archived NF, but deleted CoTD, which had so little history it didn't seem worth preserving to him. When TFC fell apart, it was only possible to restore NF, and CoTD would have to be started anew. When I said CoTD "might've" played some ladder matches, that's because I can't actually check - the match history of the clan, if any, was permanently lost. Trey was frustrated; for good reason, although perhaps disproportionately to the situation. She didn't want to restart the clan.
We started having relationship trouble around the same time. We weren't doing much together as a couple and the breakup of the clan didn't help. There were deeper underlying issues, but to me at the time it seemed like a lot of it happened because of JJ2 clans. I told Nerd about it some time later. He was sorry. He said he didn't realize that his actions, simply meant to keep a good JJ2 clan, could have negative impact on my relationship. They probably really didn't, or shouldn't have, but I think that's something a friend should say. I felt like we bonded that day.
CoTD was eventually revived at some point for a brief period of several months. It had a team battle victory rate of 100%. Trey disbanded the clan when most of the members, herself included, left to join aEs. I wasn't interested and I believe I subsequently joined -t3>, the last clan I've ever been in.
It was only much later that Trey and I actually solved most of our relationship issues. I like to think that we are the JJ2 couple; together for years and still active in the community. We get to meet regularly now and I wholeheartedly love her. So despite some negative events surrounding it, I still cherish the memory of the one time we were in a clan together.

I'm so glad to see Jazz is still around, getting hype for his birthday and love from his creators and fans! I grew up with Jazz Jackrabbit, playing the shareware demo (over and over and over) which I found on a random cd when I was young. I never saw the full game for sale, or I would have begged my parents for it. However when Jazz Jackrabbit 2 came out, I remember it was one of the first things I ever ordered online. My best friend and I both owned it, and every time we visited each other, we'd play Jazz Jackrabbit 2 for hours and hours, him as Jazz and me as Spaz. I've got such good memories of this series! I always hoped for a Jazz Jackrabbit 3, and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!
As an avid coder and having designed/developed a few (very simple) games as a hobby in my free-time, I have utmost respect for the team behind Jazz Jackrabbit, and I would be so honored if I win the one of the cd's signed by Arjan Brussee.
By the way, I'm seriously (SERIOUSLY) not a good artist, but you said you wanted our fan-art so I thought I'd give it a shot... Here's my rendition of Jazz with his back to the wall, sorry it's not great! Hope you get a kick out of it! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1IXCR-oKl-4f7zRgmhOS9S2QmmJtUtQF2

Late to the party but here we go..
It's hard to think of a single good memory, so I'll make a timelime-esque post;
In my youngest days (early 2000's, I think), I used to play splitscreen against my brother. We had a blast playing race and I was terrible at battle/CTF, with the standard "stand and shoot and hope he's stupid enough to fall into my trap" strategy. We find our old copy of JJ2 many years later during 2009, and I kick his ass in treasure and he never plays again. He thinks I'm a legendary player now, but I tell him that's just because he hasn't watched better ones.
Then I played online for the first time, stomping randomers in public servers. I got recruited to CDF by Kev, the first clan I was in. I started off playing as Jazz and would be like "Am I the only one who plays him?". Jokes on me, because then that gets affirmed even more to Switching to Lori. :lori:
I discovered TSF very late when I wondered why someone had a glitchy sprite, and was apparently a character called Lori. People would say she sucks and is "not worth it" but that only made me more curious in obtaining TSF. Cue the "lol lori" comments when I started playing her.
It was satisfying finally getting the respect, so I'd say it was worth the effort despite handicapping myself.
I eventually got into a relationship with Laro (it just happened), the CDF clan leader. He comes over to meet me once soon then.
I had some good memories with clan-exclusive gatherings containing lots of members around, silly meetings/mess-abouts with many who have long moved-on now. In fact I made a nostalgic screenshot thread (https://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=20023) including some of those. Sadly most of mine have died on there because of postimg dying out, but they still remain on my desktop HDD.
Eventually, Laro loses interest in me, and we sort of part ways. We didn't end on bad terms though.
Skip foward past Sir Ementalers story, and I got into levelmaking more, finally completing a new level since 3 years of struggling to complete anything. Now I have become a somewhat prolific JCSer, too.
JJ2 has indirectly taught me a whole lot about level and game design, along with critique (better than school ever did haha), which I got to give props for.
Past that, and I was responsible for setting up many contests and events, like the Precious Booty Treasure contest, 3 Unniversary Bashes, Ground Force Get together and some lesser significant ones. My favourite memory from them was near the end of Unniversary Bash 2, where I put on single player mode and we all blasted with a firework of bullet spam. It really went out with a bang!

Hard to pick just one...
It all started in 2003. I was almost 4 years old when I played the "green and red bunnies game" for the very first time. I liked it the moment I started playing it. The cartoony graphics and catchy music were very appealing for me as a little kid.
You could say that JJ2 was actually kind of popular at the time. Every kid I knew had it on their PC at home. In preschool it was one of the things ma gang and I would usualy talk about. :D
Believe it or not, everyone, including me, thought that the game was hard. Most of us couldn't even beat the Carrotus levels, though we all passed the Shareware Demo episode. I remember struggling with the Schawrtzengard (or whatever the guy's name is).
But later I started playing with my sister on splitscreen mode. It was really fun and I don't think any game can make me feel as excited as I was back then. Together we got to the rest of the game, with our powers combined we were able to beat them all! :D
I remember when we got to Medivo level two, where we lost a lot of lives trying to beat the boss. We encountered the bug where the boss would respawn along with you at the checkpoint upon dying! But insteas of trying to kill him there, we were running away from him, rushing through the zig-zag passages of Hare Scare. We eventualy got to the boss arena, with him following us along the way, and finished him off! To this day, the Medivo music is my favourite one in the game.
I remember us having lots of fun in Jungle level two, playing around with the rolling rocks and swinging vines.
The flesh trees in Inferno were the coolest things we've seen throughout the entire game, along with the gargoyles in Medivo and the background in Damn. We had no trouble playing the Hell levels, until we made it to the good ol' Devil Devan boss. We just knew that it had to be the final one. We were running out of lives and weren't killing him any faster. We each had one life left when we thought we killed him, but then we were shocked: Devan turned into Devil Devan, and killed me! My sister had to fight on her own! We were lucky enough that the boss glitched out and was throwing fireballs only at my bunny's corpse, so my sister eventualy killed him. We were sooooooo happy!! I was later the hotshot in preschool because I was the very first kid there that finished the game! :D
Later I was able to pass it by myself without losing any lives, and who knows how many times I actually did it.
Many many years later, in 2013, I was playing JJ2 again and found out it had online multiplayer! I was bored of some other multiplayer games I was playing at the time and decided to give JJ2 a shot! I instantly fell in love as it had something that other communities don't: a generally friendly playerbase. I quickly made some friends and joined the clan eko>, where many of my friends were. Had a blast playing mostly test levels with them.
Later, sadly, most of them left the game, including the clan's leader, so I left the clan and was looking for a new one. Given that most of the clans were CTF clans, I started playing CTF too. In 2014 I joined Pre>, later moved to CDF, where I played a couple of fun ladders. I noticed how the competetive scene was dying, so in 2015 I left CDF to start my own clan, -fB>. I quickly recruited a couple of members, most notably CS who wasn't the favorite person in the community because of his short temper. He had a fight with someone in CDF, so he left them and joined my team. We played a couple of ladder matches and even had one victory, but... Most of them didn't end well. CS decided he was sick of losing and left. All my hopes for making a new great clan were shattered when my PC died... I wasn't able to play JJ2 for a year and a half.
I came back wholesale in October 2016. I joined the revived clan GpW, letting go of all of my dreams of leading a new big clan, but I don't regret it. I'm still in GpW and I think I had a small role in keeping the clan alive. I love playing with everyone in GpW. I truly think that a clan needs a group of players who like eachother to be a good clan, rather than a group of pro players who barely even play together.
I had fun making levels too! Not planning to stop anytime soon!
There you have it. I don't want any of the prizes here as I think there are much older and more hardcore Jazz fans than I am.

I admire, envy and hope the best for you two, all at the same time. Best wishes and good luck in the future, never change <3

Jazz Jackrabbit 1+2 holds a special place in my heart, it was my Mario, Sonic. Boy I miss that soundtrack to lol. My best memories of Jazz Jackrabbit are from my childhood and my grandfather. My grandfather worked for IBM back then and he used to get games through shareware like Crystal Caves(another favorite). We would take turns playing the games(neither of us was very good at it but we had so much fun) and my grandmother would get upset when dinner was ready and we were still playing it. This was the early days of me gaming and solidified my love of video games. Coming back to Jazz Jackrabbit all these years later brings back found memories spent with my grandfather and of the good times we had, and softens the blow of him passing a few years ago. Heres to my grandfather, Bumpa. Miss you eternally!

I haven't played Jazz 2 since I couldn't figure out how to disable mouse in plus. That's what I remember most, but I also remember playing a free for all as Lori, and I was wining against a slew of Spazs. I don't think "best character" works that way guys. I should play the game again like I used to; Lori, hard, pistol only (save bosses of course.) Or I could try some user maps, and maybe try my hand at creation. My best work is probably my Commander Keen map pack, so, same genre.

My best memory was probably back in Sweden, Stockholm when I was 8 years old and started a Jazz Jackrabbit club in my school! More and more people joined my club and after some time, I made my whole class play Jazz Jackrabbit 2! We had meetings and parties where everyone played the game, so that's a great childhood memory from me!
And it was Jazz Jackrabbit 2 that actually made me interested in game development later in life and made me start to study game design in Sweden!
I can for sure say that I'm the biggest Jazz Jackrabbit fan out there, and it would mean so much if I got a signed CD from Arjan Brussee! I made my best attempt to create some fan art for the competition (and I'm not a concept artist, but i did my best), hope you'll like it!

Ohhh, my first memory is when i played the shareware level of JJ2 over and over thinking that would unlock the other episodes, even if i couldn't read because i couldn't read, but i had fun anyway, and the music was also a really memorable part of those games, i still enjoy listening to it even 20 years after.
Also, i shouldn't had started the fan art way too late in the deadline, but here it is:

It might not be anything special, but I remember when I was at around 6-7 years old at the community center and noticed in a room someone playing Jazz. It was the PC learning course room, so it was filled with PCs (at that time owning a PC was quite rare), I wanted to go in, but I was not a member so I dared not entering, instead I started sobbing at the entrance of the room, due to my helplessness. One could say Jazz is the first game that made me cry, but in this case, it was it's absence. The teacher there noticed me and invited me in, allowed me to get my grip and as an act of goodwill, he allowed me to play the game a bit in order to cheer up. It was effective.
The next day I joined the club and got more involved, not just in Jazz itself, but also other computer technicalities, later I joined a high-school with math/computer-science curriculum and even finished a computer science bachelor degree (about to finish the master degree as well, really soon), and it all started with me whimpering about seeing a colorful rabbit game that I could not play.

I remember that in my country it was difficult to get PC games, I played JJ in shareware version since it was included in a PC that we bought. They were many hours of fun with the limited version, I could never get a boxed copy due to the lack of titles for sale in the region where I lived. The quality of the graphics was great and the difficulty of the game was very good and it gave you hours of fun.

I'm probably kinda late for party but even so I wanted to share my best memory with Jazz Jackrabbit :-)
Back in 1999 my parents bought me my first ever PC. It was a big event since we weren't really rich and all we ever had was some clone NES console with like thousands of games packed in one. I lived with my parents in a single room and I wanted to show PC to all of my friends - so imagine a group of almost 15 kids packed in really small room! Before a PC even turned on one of my friends, Casper, asked me what kind of games I can play on it, so I run asap Jazz Jackrabbit 2. We spend hours playing it in turns, having a contests who can even beat the first levels, since nobody ever had any experience with using a keyboard. Those were really great and fun times. Since Jazz Jackrabbit is now available on GOG, I wonder how many of my old friends still have memory of this day, how many are still playing games and how many of them were happy to hear you can buy and play it on modern systems. I wish we could gather one more time and have so much fun as we did back then :)

Hope I'm not running too late with this, I got a little carried away. Anyway, here's some fanart!

Unfortunately, I can't really enter with a favourite memory of Jazz 2, as I've never had a chance to play it! (But hopefully that will change soon.)
However, the first Jazz Jackrabbit game was a favourite in my childhood. I thought the graphics were awesome for the time, and I get super nostalgic just listening to the music. It was definitely an influential game for me.
I didn't even know it had a sequel for the longest time, only found out about it maybe a little over five years ago. I didn't have a way to pick it up at the time and wasn't even sure if it would run on modern computers, but with it being on GOG now, it's definitely more accessible.
I also didn't know it still had such an active community! One way or another, I'm sure I'll be playing Jazz 2 in the near future and maybe hanging around here some more. :D

I've won against Slews of Spaz many times, sometimes even without one on my team. On a not-so-boastful note, winning JJ2 online is mostly about map control and timing/prediction.
Disabling mouse-aim is easy. To disable mouse-aim, click on the drop-down menu at the top, then uncheck mouse-aiming.
You can also disable it without it being reset upon game opening each time, by going into plus.ini in your jazz2 folder, then changing and saving MouseAim=True to MouseAim=False.
I recommend trying out custom user maps. They are usually much more challenging. Yes, even more challenging than blaster-only turbo mode on the official maps.
Sorry this is a bit off-topic. Just wanted to help.

Oh man, my story.. where should I even begin? I'm active for over 20 years now in the Jazz Jackrabbit community. So there are a major ton of fond memories to go around and to tell. However, I totally suck in telling stories but also I’m far from being creative.. I can draw stick figures, I guess? Oh, yeah.. I am able to create levels, it always gives me a huge smile if someone downloads it and plays with it a bit.
I’ve been involved in so many (especially early) projects with the community. I always wanted the community to thrive, but these days I’m major irrelevant. People made and create so much beautiful stuff, so much awesome websites and so many projects that boost the community in anyway. I’m proud of you, you all that are involved in this process.
Now let’s talk about my most memorable and most fond memory, I don’t think I should talk about the games perse. I'm talking more about the community. My first meeting with community memberts in a small village next to Amsterdam, named Broek and Waterland. I think that was my most fond memory. Meeting with Fquest, NewSpaz, Haze Hackrabbit, Dr Jones, Disguise, Aiko and several others I fail to mention.
We went canoeing, explore the vast and flat nature of ‘Waterland’ a little district of the province of ‘North Holland’. We went for the 15 km route. For us untrained nerds this was a hassle, it took is way longer then the target time, but we had laughs and fun. At some point during the trip, mr Disguise lost his camera, it felt into the water. A big shame, back then digital cameras was a quite expansive investment… so losing that into the murky waters of Waterland gives you panic moments. Infact Disguise actually jumped and dove into the water trying to save his camera. Which ofcourse is pretty impossible with the muddy waters. After searching for a half hour, he started to look like a bog monster and gave up on the thing. However, Janneman aka Disguise is .. Disguise, he actually shrugged up his shoulders and smiled. ‘Oh well, let’s just continue the trip!’ You can imagen that, even though we didn’t want to laugh.. people couldn’t hold it in anymore and we burst into laughter.
I’m proud of the people that kept GPW a-live in times I went totally inactive with the game, I’m still proud wearing the Mystic Legends tag as level designer and I’m still happy that I can say I was part of Jazz 2 City and JMMB crew back in the day. But mostly, I’m proud being part of this community.
Now that I’m past my 30’s, I’m pretty sure that I would say the same when I’m past my 40’s.
Thank you all.

Okay! First off, let me thank you all so much for your participation and all the wonderful memories (and creative works) you shared with us. It's been a real pleasure to see so many names both old and new in here, and all your reminders of how our favorite bunny game has touched so many people over the decades. We'd love it if any of you folks wanted to stick around... <a href="https://www.gog.com/news/jazz_jackrabbit_mod_spotlight_with_jazz2onlinecom">this news post over at GOG.com</a> has some of our suggestions for where to start when trying out the absurdly huge mountain of custom content, or just refresh the front page of <a href="https://www.jazz2online.com/">Jazz 2 Online</a> a few times to see five random selections from our highest-rated content. Or if you're ready to make some levels of your own, check out <a href="http://www.ninjadodo.net/htjcs/">Howto JCS</a> for some great coverage of all the basics. :)
But in the meantime, let's draw some names at random! I excluded two or three posts that amounted to "I don't have any memories of this game," but it was still a big list. Thanks for the contest and the hard work. Thank you community for reminding me how amazing this place is, and what an awesome game Jazz 2 really is. It's also a great reminder that game development shouldn't only be about the money or even the massive audience. There are many examples of games that did much better, and do not have a creative and passionate community like this after twenty years. When you read all these stories, there's no denying that the Jazz 2 was (and still is) something special.

Congrats to the winners! Guess I'll be shelling out 10 bucks for a copy of Jazz 1 soon after all, lol.
On a related note, I think it's rather fitting that Sir Ementaler ended up getting a signed copy of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, seeing as how he's one of the devs of JJ2+.

Thank you very much for this nice giveaway and cograts to winners (and me ;-)!). I don't have a GOG copy of both Jazz Jackrabbit games so I'm really happy about it :)))

Congrats to the winners! But the real winners were the whole community, who got to share in some amazing stories and memories over the past week. So congrats everybody :D

I know it is over, I only learned now about this community, and I came here to say that probably the first words I even typed (other than win to run windows 95) were the cheat codes for jazz jack rabbit as I remember distinctly being able to type and hand-write them, even tho I was a 4 year old.

Have any of the other CD winners heard from Epic? Because it's been almost 2 weeks now and nobody has gotten in contact with me...

Same here. I suspect Arjan is still learning how to spell his last name correctly in order to sign the jewel cases. It's difficult so I'm not criticizing that. Probably a good thing they're not getting signed by Cliffy instead.

The CDs were signed before the giveaway began. I'll write in and see if I can figure out what's going on.
ETA:
Yes, I'm snowed under. I'm going to try to get them out this week.

Even mister Cliff Bleszinski should did this even if he doesn't work at Epic Games anymore. This could be a pleasure to get autographs of these both famous people, really.
