If you didn't already know, you can visit Possum World here (http://www.geocities.com/alister_j_t/possum/).

It now has a new colour scheme, among other things.

I still think toxicbunny should join the possum team. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

So do I... (obviously).

Anyway, who can find the secret one-tile error on the second fan screenshot?

There's a porition of the tiles that is a 2x2 but the bottom half is two 1 tile pieces instead.

I don't quite get what you're saying, so I've put a grid around the picture. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I've added some more pScript suggestions if anyone's interested.

Also, I won't be adding any more of my fan tileset screenshots until my own computer starts working. It's a pity, because there's a whole two tilesets you haven't seen.

Hey FQ, ehr..You wanted professional looking tileset. No offense but there's nobody in this whole community that can make sets like Nick.

Fquist isn't the only one who wants professional tilesets :P

News:

Today I sat my last exam of the school year. In other words, the summer holidays have started. This means that there will be a bunch of new stuff at Possum World, as I have alot of time to devote to my tileset making. Now that I have Linux, I also have the GIMP, which means the graphics should be more advanced than they were before. Also, I keep having urges to edit my tilesets into the Pedit screenshots.

Expect some new screenshots in a few days...

And here it is!

Click here (http://www.geocities.com/alister_j_t/possum/) and go to the fan work section to see a screenshot of another tileset.

I just got a new computer. So to answer a very old question, Particle Blending works on a Matrox Millennium G200 8MB video card.

A 500MHz processor with 256Mb RAM runs the screensaver at about 80fps (with about 200 particles). http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Actually, I think Agama makes darn close to Nick quality.

Newspaz
Jul 9, 2001, 08:26 AM
Yes but Agama wasn't around when I said that. And Agama doesn't want to join the team.

Electric Ir

Not exactly, he wants to join the Possum team, but he isn't so very good in talking English (thats what he said himself), thats the only reason why he did not join.

Dino

What language does he speak?

Fquist_old
Jul 10, 2001, 10:39 AM
I messaged him to ask him about joining possum, but he said he didn't speak english well enough.

His location in j2o says:

Location: Prague, Czech Republic

I don't know what language they talk there. Czech?

Straight from the CIA: ( http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/ez.html )

Languages: Czech

Good guess, Quisty. ;)

Electric, lets keep it to this. He doesn't want to join because he thinks his english is to bad. Now we're both happy.

For the love of fishsticks, get a translator! Agama's tilesets kick tail!

Indeed. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif Newspaz, I agree.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but last time I checked we weren't making an alphabet/dictionary tileset. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Who's Agama? I've never heard of him... ?_?

DethMan made awesome sets, remember 7th Lava Fall and the CyberSpaz sets (Least I think 7LF was by DethMan)? Don't forget Mez, either, maybe they'd like to do some stuff for Possum...

Agama is a guy that builds awesome tilesets with niftular gfx and layout. So come on, and download "Egypt" and "Heaven" from J2O.

Yeah, mezz got some talents too. He would fit, also. And Dehtman: forget it. I don't think he would like to join the Possum Team. And if he did, he wouldn't work on it, because he got work and he is busy.

There is now more stuff at Possum World (http://www.geocities.com/alister_j_t/possum/).

And what do you think of my tilesets?

Newspaz
Jul 17, 2001, 02:49 AM
Mez wouldn't fit in. Toxic Bunny are in my opionon (no offence, I couldn't do them like yours.) not good enough. It just misses some quality.

Tik
Jul 17, 2001, 10:41 PM
Who is going to be doing tilesets then, if no one you've found has been good enough? Who made the tileset for the screen shots?

Newspaz
Jul 18, 2001, 12:54 AM
Dethman did that. And he doesn't want to make anymore. The only person qualified would be Agama imho.

MetalWarrior
Jul 18, 2001, 08:41 AM
Um... Gizmo did the tileset in the screenshots. It'd be nice if Dethman wanted to help, but I don't think that will ever happen. :)

So now we have the J2C and JC of Possum, do we?

Alister
Jul 18, 2001, 04:32 PM
Yep. not sure which is the equivalent of J2C and which is the equivalent of JC, though.

P.S. More stuff at Possum World.

sigh... I aticipated that question... and... We don't know yet. But you just said that didn't you http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Electric Ir
Jul 20, 2001, 02:21 AM
This is getting quite confusing. I think those people all should try to make something for Possum and that the possum team should select the best tileset and author.

P.S.

New stuff on Possum Online (http://www.ceesheijdel.nl/possum)

- Poll (also about this subject!)

- Picture of Dino

- 3 new fan screenshots by ToxicBunny

Man, my picture in Possum Online is from like, 2.5 years ago... It doesn't have my beard and my Blond (painted) hair. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

And my hair is too big in that picture, I don't like that. :P

Greetings!

I'm sorry I've been away so long, as usual I've been busy. A few days ago I found I'd forgotten my password, so I tried the forgotten password mailer. Unfortunately my e-mail provider wasn't working, so the mail arrived over 24 hours late. Today I manged to sort it out.

Also, tadoy is the start of my holidays!
I'll be releasing a Possum fan game on Christams day or before. All I need is permission to use the Possum sprite from the screenshots.
The game will be available for Windows (95 and higher) and Linux (SDL 1.1 or higher). You will be able to make your own levels, though after you've played it you probably won't want to.

Possum World contains nothing new, but it's handy to have a link.
