here's a good example of a reason why:
two people at the place where my dad works were recently promoted two levels above my dad, here's the thing though.. my dad is more experienced and stuff than they are, but you see they graduated from college, my dad had to drop out of college after his 2nd or 3rd year (his a tip folks: despite how hard it may be for some wait until you've COMPLETED college to even get engaged, much less married).
Well this also gives me a chance to brag about my dad a little too (hehehe), you know what I think is cool about my dad that like a few years or so ago I didn't exactly think was that great about him? His sorta "Get over it" type attitude. Yeah I know some people despise those attitudes and all, but seriously instead of complaining about folks being promoted two levels above him when he was more qualified for the job he basically told himself, "Get over it, this is the way the business world works. Just keep on working at it."
Seriously folks if you've heard someone (most likely your parents, heheheheh!) say the best things you'll learn are from your parents, that is so true! you know what one of the most important things about getting your first job my dad taught me? to be enthusiastic about it and not to have a "oh..whatever" type attitude, he told me basically most employers understand when you're starting out you're not as knowledgeable as someone in the "business" for 20 years of something they're not looking for geniuses or whatever most of the time they're looking for someone who's willing to work hard, not whine because of how "little they get paid", and to be willing to learn new things. i certainally will take this to mind when in June or July (hopefully June, the sooner the better) I start looking around for a job. =)
anywho, any comments on this? also what important/nifty things have you learned from your parents?
