server hosting

Everytime I host a public server its pinging and everytime I host a passworded server it doesnt show up in the list.
Help!

Do you have the list server patch?
Do you have a router?
Do you have a software firewall, such as ZoneAlarm?
Does internet work in other programs?
Does internet work in other games?
Can you host servers in other games?
Do you have dialup?
Cable?
DSL?
Something else?
You say that your server shows up as pinging; how can you tell that? Do you open another JJ2? Get a friend to check it?
When you're playing in your server, and have the F9 list on, do you see the recieving and sending numbers deviate from 0 at all?
Did this problem just start? Or has it always been like this?
Are you using XJJ2?
Some other launcher?
Do you have any ideas what could be wrong?

My internet works in other programs
I dont play any other internet games yet
I dont know if I can host in other games as I dont have any at this time

something elese: perhaps I will edit this if I think of anything elese

Mabye ZoneAlarm has something to do with it

I setup my firewall so JJ2 is in the programs list that it excepts instead of blocks.

Well ZoneAlarm is probably the problem. I remember that I had to set it up with JJ2 (when I used ZoneAlarm). Make sure that JJ2 can act as a server (if I recall properly, that is a different setting than the "access the internet" setting)

Or if ZoneAlarm has some sort of allowable ports thing, make sure ports 10052-10054 are free. (Maybe a new version has this; I don't know...the last time I used ZoneAlarm was 2 years ago)
