Ok Try this but its not my fault if you do it wrong or if this doesnt work.
1.Manually uninstall Jazz2
2.Download the patch thing on http://jazzjackrabbit.com so you can reinstall it.
I have a Jazz2 CD with 1.21 on it so I dnno..

What do you mean delete the keys? I'm having problems now too. I uninstalled both Jazz2 and TSF, but I can't install it now. It says I already have version 1.23, but I sure don't believe I uninstalled it! Do I worry about deleting the keys, whatever that means, or should I just try that reinstalling patch you mentioned?

It could mean that you have too many episode files in your JJ2 folder. I think the maximum number is 6 or 7. Try deleting monk.j2e, rescue.j2e and flash.j2e, and runing Jazz2 again. I'd advise to backup the files first.

No, I can't delete those because everything in the folders are gone. I can't reinstall it. Should I try the patch?

Well, it appears that the patch deletes the "keys" and it worked. Sorry for wasting your time. Whew! I was so glad the patch worked, I was afraid I screwed it up for good. But I actually uninstalled Jazz 2 properly and I had this problem. But the patch thankfully fixed it.
