When my friend plays online, he has a problem. He times out every time. He dosen't think he has a firewall, but dosen't know how to check for one.

When he used to play with his Dial-up, he had no problems. But he upgraded to Comcast and hasn't been able to join sense. He can't use his dial-up because he dosen't have one. Please help.
Specs:

Prosseser:Pentium 2
Windows 98
Video Card: GEForce 2
Cable modem
Jazz Version:1.23 and 1.24(neither works)

It is probably the internet connection sharing.

If the computer he is on is the one sharing then you just go into the controll panel and then add/remove then windows setup then internet options then uncheck internet connection sharing.
(from memory so there may be a few things wrong but it is somthing like that ;))
But this will make it so that the computers that you are networked to will have no acess to the internet.

Jazz will also time out when you are on a computer that the internet is being shared to.

If you want to share internet and play jazz then just click the search option at the top of the screen and search for "time out" or somthing like that :P.

OK I'M LAZY SUE ME :p

Hope that helps. :p

Darkshadow, nowhere did Infinite Spaz mention anything about a home network or internet connection sharing...

Your friend probably does have a firewall, and he should ask his parents what kind it is (router, software, etc.). Nobody can help unless we know what type of firewall it is.

And something that really bothers me is people posting "for" their friends. Why can't their friends come here and post themselves?
