Along with several people I know (KnightLord, PhoenixGirl, Lavaman), I am creating a new magazine called Stuff is Good. It is a review of Jazz 2-related programs, hence the name. I really need contributions of reviews so this entire thing can happen. So far, I only have one review (QuikJoin) and a Letter from the Editor. I would really love reviews, and nearly every submitted entry will be printed. We will also feature an art gallery, level competition, letters section, and monthly poll. I also need ideas for articles. Stuff is Good Magazine will be emailed when done and will continue to be mailed in monthly installments. If you wish to subscribe or contribute, send an email to trafton@nventure.com. If you want to subscribe, the email should have a subject containing "subscribe". In the message include your online player name, mIRC/ICQ/Yahoo!/MSN/AIM info (if possible), your real name, your email, and any comments on the magazine. If I get enough submissions, I may even create a web page for the magazine. I also need a reviewer with non-1.23 versions of JJ2 (especially The Secret Files ). No further contribution is required, and there are no requirements for monthly contribution at all. I hope the entire community will help this project to be the best it can be! If you do not get a response from trafton@nventure.com within a week, try traftonofjj2@yahoo.com. I will inform you all of any further developments. Most articles will be about JJ2 programs, but we will also take reviews for non-JJ2 programs that may interest JJ2 players (like chat programs). I await all of your wonderful contributions.
Sincerely,
Trafton

And, by the way, its SiG for short. :)
I forgot to mention in my first post that I also need ideas for other magazine departments, not just reviews and content.

I've also submitted this as news.

Question:

Will these emailed magazines be html emails? Or will there be an option? (html or text-only option)

Per your request, you can recieve it in text-only format.

Does this mean you want to subscribe? We need more people to subscribe or this whole thing won't be able to happen!

Can't you have a copy of it on some webpage, too?

I would if it was created yet. I have written a few articles but need more contributions along with subscription. Any contribution accepted.

KnightLord, sadly, no longer plays. He occationally contributes.

Bleh, then I gotta keep him on Unactive or delete him from the member list :|

Okay, that's no problem. I only have 6 people so far, and really need more subscribers. I also need articles. I know I'm repeating myself, but I am really hoping that we can get this magazine to press (or Outlook Express, in this case :D)

I just sent my subscription, as well as a couple ideas :D

Edit: Ooh! Another idea! ^__^ How about a short story in each mag? It'd bump the length, but if they're good... :D (I'm thinking Twilight Zone gone JJ2 xD)

That's odd. I had the same idea a few weeks ago. Or maybe 2 months. I'm not really sure.

I could contribute. Maybe not daily, but probably weekly.

And I would subscribe, but I'm too lazy ;) *subscribes* There. Done.

The magazine is monthly. If you contribute weekly, you'll contribute plenty :D

Why do we have do include our real names? Will it cost money? But I agree, StuffIsGood!:D:D:D:D

Here, I will do a SiG FAQ:

Q: Must you give your real name?
A: No, in fact, this isn't stored. It was originally going to be a way to address those who wanted to be addressed by their real name (e.g. Dizzy/Bobby). You do not have to include your real name.

Q: What is Stuff is Good?
A: Stuff is Good is a Jazz 2 mailer featuring JJ2-related articles. It also reviews JJ2 programs.

Q: Who makes it?
A: I, Trafton, do. I want this to be a community effort, though, so I need many submissions from you.

Q: Does it cost anything?
A: Not at all. It will never.

Q: When will I get it in my mail?
A: It arrives through email and should be ready mid to late July for the first issue.

Q: How often does it come?
A: Stuff is Good comes monthly.

Q: With all those features, won't the email be big?
A: Yes. In fact, I may have to just link to it from the email and store it online.

Q: Will you read the submission emails?
A: Yes. Nothing is handled by computer. I manually insert all Stuff is Good subscribers into a special area in the Address Book of my Outlook Express, which I will mail the magazine out to. Any questions can be included in the email.

Q: Am I required to contribute?
A: No, but it would be nice if you did.

Q: When should all contributions be recieved by?
A: I don't want to put any pressure on. It would nice to be all wrapped up by July 15th or so, but I will except submissions until the last minute.

Q: When will the last minute be?
A: I'm not sure, so get it in by July 15th! :D

Q: Why is stuff good?
A: It just is, stop asking questions! :)

No. That's from the FAQ.

I guess so. arthur@armory.com
But how do you contribute?

Ooh, sounds uber spiffy. I will subscribe, perhaps give a freelance writer's thing every now and then. I've also made a few Jazz2 progs, so maybe I'll begin attempting to make more.

The story idea is good too. Maybe each month you could have a different author do a contribution to a whole story, and the story would continue on every month, that'd be cool,
