I order to make JDC enjoyable for everyone, Mike and I have come up with a few questions that we ask everyone who has participated in JDC to answer. Please write whatever you feel and do not be afraid to tell the truth.

1. Should we continue JDC? When would you like another season?

2. Do you think we should give more points for events? In other words, do you think events should be a more substantial portion of your score than they are now?

3. Is there anything you are dissatisfied with?

4. What do you think of the concept of rounds and giving points out based off of a percentage of how well you did (as opposed to raw points (Old JDC system vs current))? If you didn't like it, what would be in your oppinion, a better alternative and why? Do you have a method you think would work better?

5. What do you think about having an elimination sort of tournament for JDC? Please note that once eliminated you could no longer duel for JDC. Would you rather just skip an elimination and have a regular JDC season?

Try and be as specific as possible in your responses.

1. Yes, anytime that would be convenient.

2. I think so, because a good portion of the people that join JDC (myself included) are in it mostly for the events. Basically if you duel enough times you win with this system (it doesn't even have to be an astronomical amount either).

3. Not really, but it'd be nice if it was a bit more organized (read: having the events happen at the time they were originally supposed to happen ;P).

4. Actually, I always thought it would be better for JDC to use a system like this and coincidentally you guys thought the same. The current system is basically what I had in mind.

5. That sounds good... like a dueling ladder you mean? I think it should happen simultaneously along with the season... the regular season carries on, as every week a "round" of duels happens. Winner moves on, loser can only participate in non-ladder duels and events now (matchups determined by statistics). You should recieve bonus points according to how well you do in the ladder at the end of the season (a few hundred points for the winner, and less points trickling down a few rounds). I'm not sure yet if the ladder should be a mandatory thing or not, though. (keep in mind I'm just using "ladder" as a term for this idea, because in true essence it really isn't a ladder at all)

All in all, I've enjoyed JDC. Thanks for the good times.

YES! Continue it, it was a heck of alot of fun (when had time to participate at least). New season not too soon, but not too far off either.
2. Do you think we should give more points for events? In other words, do you think events should be a more substantial portion of your score than they are now?
Events should count for more points, due to the fact that it's alot harder to make it to scheduelled events. Thus they should count for more points than spur of the moment duels.
3. Is there anything you are dissatisfied with? The elimination in a way, it increases by too much sometimes. Also, better scheduelling of events, perhaps a few days before the said event takes place. Also, I'm still heck confused about how to interpret the timezones.
4. What do you think of the concept of rounds and giving points out based off of a percentage of how well you did (as opposed to raw points (Old JDC system vs current))? I do prefer the current JDC system more than the old one, it's more balanced.
5. What do you think about having an elimination sort of tournament for JDC? Please note that once eliminated you could no longer duel for JDC. Would you rather just skip an elimination and have a regular JDC season?
An elimination tournament would be interesting for a special event, but in order to attract players the amount of points gained would have to be increased, due to the risky nature of the event.

I think we should continue. Have another season this fall or something.

Oh, and about saying that events should be scheduled far ahead of time and not be missed, I should bring it up that it is mostly one or two people organizing the events. I am not going to put JDC in front of everything so I can do every single event on time. Currently, the events system is as on-schedule as it can possibly be. To have things announced even more ahead of time, I would have to do fewer events.

1. Should we continue JDC? When would you like another season?
Yes 1 Augustus ;)

2. Do you think we should give more points for events? In other words, do you think events should be a more substantial portion of your score than they are now?
No but it would be better if their could be even events at the end of jdc
10 Euro 10 Europian thats what i mean

4. What do you think of the concept of rounds and giving points out based off of a percentage of how well you did (as opposed to raw points (Old JDC system vs current))? I liked the Scoring System of Last Season more
becuz someday i have ie 100 then 90
i feel that it changez alot

5. What do you think about having an elimination sort of tournament for JDC? Please note that once eliminated you could no longer duel for JDC. Would you rather just skip an elimination and have a regular JDC season?
You can no longer duel for the whole Season? ack

and can you add a lil Feature to jdc
like you have to verify 1 duel

You have 1 duel to verify (http://www.jazz2online.com/jdc/duel/verify.php)

under All times are 1 hrs from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) would be nice dont know if you like this but alot of people seems to forgot that they have a duel to verify/

and could i be a admin for next season?
arranging Euro events not that i can host trough :P

Maybe we should plan a jdc season in begin of Summer and in begin of Winter, I think that would be nice and wont take so long and short time between jdc starts. And over the events, next time we should also include Race levels, I think it will enjoyable with much people. Further I think JDC is very nice.

EDIT: About verifying duels, the challenger and the opponent should send the admins both a mail about a duel wich has to be verifyed. This will prefent people to let admins verify a fake duel which has been added by the same person.

1. Definetly. After this summer.
2. Yes, especially 3on3s.
3. No.
4. New one is better.
5. Not a good idea, it would be too boring for people who go out early. And people going on vacation for a week or whose PC is broken would be elimated automaticly.

Enigma
Jul 9, 2002, 02:03 AM
1. Sure. It's been fun :)
2. It doesn't really matter for me. I made about 70% of my score in events in season 5, but it's also okay the way it is now :D
3. The lack of a few euro events, but i won't nag; SSJ is doing the best job he can
4. This is a nice scoring system. Unlike the old system, here it's impossible to win just by having an insane amount of duels. So keep it!
5. Well... elimination in which way? Knockout rounds? Round robins? Only let the first 20 participate after a while? What exactly do you mean? Anyway, i'd say no. It's no fun for those who are eliminated early, and sometimes a player is gone for a while (holidays etc.). It wouldn't work out very well i think

Yes, more points please...

It's cool as long as it's pefect organised and the elimated ppl can just duel along in the normal JDC season.

Try and be as specific as possible in your responses.

Was this specific enough? no.

1. Yes. As soon as possible :D.

2. Yes. About the double amount.

3. Dunno...I can't think of anything right now.

4. It's ok. But opponent quality should give more points.

5. Yes, but after the original (perhaps 10 then) rounds. The first 32 would play there or something...

This would not prevent people from cheating any more than they do now, it would mostly just give the admins more work to do. Nothing prevents people from making multiple hotmail accounts or something like that.

under All times are 1 hrs from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) would be nice dont know if you like this but alot of people seems to forgot that they have a duel to verify/

You can set the time zone you are in on the user details page so all times are in your time zone.

i ment the Warning Message if you have 1 duel to verify if you add that feature could you add it under that txt line?

dunno if its usefull such a thing.

Another use of my "ladder" theory would be as a sort of playoffs/all-star competition where the top half of the people compete for points after the end of the season...

Jul 9, 2002, 03:10 PM
1.Yes if its very soon
2.Yes
3.Whenever someones ready to duel me, I am bussy doing something else
4.Dont know much about it, I dont hardly ever get a chance to challange anyone so I never appear in the list, just people challange me

5.No

1 Yes! but not right after this season.... i think 2 seasons in 1 year.

2 No. Its okay now.

3 Yes! you can lose points at that whay there wil be less duels.....
YOu might able not winning points but lose points...:S

4 I should do 10 rounds.

5 I already thought of that sometime but i didnt know if i could create a tournament like that ( nobody would join  ).
SO that means i ARGEE yes do it!

the WINNER
Jul 10, 2002, 11:25 AM
...because the "# duels needed for round". More better idea would be that 1 duel and you are in the round.
Much better for lazy/busy people.

Answering Questions:

1. Yeah. Soon as possible please
2.Yes, please. Yes :)
3.The thing above.
4.Dunno, I joined JJ2 community at summer 2001 so I dunno what IS the old system.
5.NNOOO!!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO DEFINITELY AND ABSOLUTELY NOOOOOO!!!!!! If yes, I will not join that season(except events)!

So, question 3 is asked in the top of this post.

Here's all :) Hope that the next season will be good(it will not if you do the thing in question 5 :p )

Enigma
Jul 10, 2002, 11:35 AM
The old system was: you got 1 point for each roast/CTF point you scored in a duel. For every duel you won, you got an extra 5 points. Needless to say, there were people who didn't duel that much, and people who fought an insane amount of duels. because of the system, everyone who dueled so much got a high rank, even if they had a very bad win/loss record.

There you go winner. i hope that helps you to compare :)

Bobby aka Dizzy
Jul 10, 2002, 01:25 PM
The reason there is a number of duels requirement is that it would be possible with one duel to have more points in a round than anyone else if you did extremely well in that one duel.

Yes, go on with another season. And everything else seems good. That elimination rounds thing sounds good, but I think that the losers should get to do a normal JDC sorta thing. (And the people still in...I guess, too.)

Look I understand what you mean, but please try to understand...we cant help it much. And besides you should be happy youve atleast HAVE a host. The most problem is when everyone is downloading the level. Most people CTO then. We might set the lvls as download on jdc next season, if Bobby and Evilmike would agree with me. JDC is almost ended anyway now.

lol yeah if it doesnt changes i`l only get in Europian Events

you could set it like 7 max players or something

i could only play in 1 lvl good the rest was timing lagging BLEH!

EvilMike
Jul 11, 2002, 06:31 PM
We're not going to set a player limit. It's always going to be 32 for non team based and 16 for team based (those are the most jj2 allows).

the Scoring system kinda sucks imo

Bobby dueld 3 times i did 30 and he got 1 point more
i know its bout the Opponoent Quality and stuff
but i dont like this System how it is now.,.

Bobby aka Dizzy
Jul 12, 2002, 08:29 AM
Well, basically that is what the system is trying to achieve. In past JDC seasons it has always been totally impossible for anyone who did not duel 30 times in a week to even get a few points. Now, the system is based more on your roast:fall and opponent quality.

ah yes, true, but you see, i followed your dueling for the past few days ('cuz you are getting dangerously close to me in the ranks :p), and i've noticed it weren't really demi-gods you dueled to say the least. You've had a lot of duels against noobs (if you're going to refer to our battle1 duel, i admit: i am a noob in battle1, lol :D) That's why you don't get all that much of a score. If you would beat someone with a high quality (bob or ssj for example :D), your score will go up a lot ;)

2. Hm. If it's not a bother, I think so. But not too much, or no one will duel ;)

3. Having more advanced warning on events would be nice, but it wouldn't be easy to do.

4. 6th season style is best B)

5. If you're not referring to JDCE (which sounds fun), then no. I did badly last season, but I still want to duel, darnit! ;P

Basically my ideas on the elimination tournament were a pre-concieved JDCE.
