EPISODE II : Back to the Roots
The day after Palpatine's death, the Jedi council came together for several reasons. At first, they needed to find an idea how to handle the new dangers caused through the Sith, and, on the other hand, but very familiar, Padmé still was "caught" on Tatooine, and she was very endangered now.
Mace Windu: You know what has happened now. We need to send the Naboo's Queen a small group of Jedi and soldiers to protect her. Additionally, we need a pilot that is able to fly a big spaceship with enough room for the Queen and the few survivours. Do you know anyone we can trust and who would fit good in this job?
Anakin: Master Windu, me!
Obi-Wan Kenobi: My Padawan, I guess you overestimate yourself. Concentrate your thinking and feelings on the here and now, don't go too far to the future. I know you are a good pilot, but this mission is dangerous. Your time will come, my Padawan, but it is not now.
Anakin: But...master Kenobi...
Obi-Wan Kenobi: I'm sorry Master Windu. But I know someone...a former Jedi. He left us because he wanted to become space pilot. As far as I know, he has also been captain of bigger spaceships aleady.
Mace Windu: What's the name of this person?
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Bian Wikte.
Yoda: Searching and finding him, you will now. But not spending too much time on it, your duty is. The Naboo Queen, still in danger she is. Now go, and find the former Jedi!
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Yes, master Yoda. May my Padawan come with me?
Mace Windu: Yes. We are ready with the most important decisions. The council will decide the rest. Thanks, and hurry. Time is running.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Follow me, my Padawan.
Yoda: May the force lead your search.
Obi-Wan and Anakin leave the room.
Plo Koon: Do you think it is wise to just let the knight and his padawan go on such a dangerous mission?
Mace Windu: The force is strong in Obi-Wan. I guess he will do his job well.
Depa Billaba: But what if the Sith are on Tatooine? And I suppose they are there- at least the Naboo Queen is one of their most important opponents.
Plo Koon: I don't fear for the Queen's life, but for Obi-Wan's padawan's destination. If the Sith are on Tatooine, and like Mastress Billaba, I fear it, what if they can get the young padawan under their control? What if the chosen one will become a Sith?
Ki-Adi Mundi: And what happens if the chosen one never gets "trained" for such a situation? It would be even worse if his heart became dark when he is at his full powers. It is dangerous, of course, but he has to face that danger at least once.
Mace Windu: I trust in Obi-Wan. He will help him facing and fighting the dark side.
Yoda: Seeing we will what happened, as soon as returned they have.
Qui-Gon Jinn is entering.
Yoda: Welcome, my friend. Something to tell you have, I feel.
Qui-Gon Jinn: I just wanted to say Valorum is all right again. He says he needs no aid anymore.
Mace Windu: These are good news. But he still is endangered. There are many bounty hunters on Coruscant.
Qui-Gon Jinn: What about the Senate Guard?
Mace Windu: They can't defend the chancellor if they should do a planned ambush.
Yoda: Defending him, we have to! Master Windu, taking a group of knights and looking around the Senate Hall for dangers, you will.
Mace Windu: Yes, master. I will start immediately.
Yoda: May the force be with you.
Mace Windu leaves the room.
Qui-Gon wants to leave the room too.
Ki-Adi Mundi: Stay one more moment, please. Don't we still need a Jedi for the trip to Tatooine?
Qui-Gon Jinn: Wasn't it better you'd sent a council member there?
Ki-Adi Mundi: No. Even if this is the centre of the republic and you might think it is save, many important democratic politicans' lifes are endangered. We must stay here at the moment, as long as they won't get use of an army to achieve their goals, and don't concentrate any more on their bounty hunters.
Yoda nods.
Qui-Gon Jinn: I understand. Who else will help saving the Naboo Queen?
Yoda: Master Kenobi, his Padawan Skywalker, and a former Jedi, Bian Wikte called, who shall be the pilot.
Qui-Gon Jinn: Isn't this a small group?
Yoda: Your group, becoming bigger on Tatooine it will.
Ki-Adi Mundi: The problem is the people's loyality. We are not sure whom to trust and whom not. That's also why Master Windu and a few knights are protecting the chancellor at the moment. The Senate Guard is a danger for him.
Qui-Gon Jinn: Can't we get a few knight with us then?
Yoda: Sorry I am, but no. In a few days, a group of Jedi to Kamino travel they will.
Ki-Adi Mundi: Master Drakas will watch and inform us about what is going on on Kamino.
Qui-Gon turns his head, watching Jor Drakas who nods.
Qui-Gon Jinn: Kamino...wasn't that the planet Master Kenobi discovered?
Yoda: Yes.
Qui-Gon Jinn And what's that special about it?
Ki-Adi Mundi: All Jedi, the Council, the Masters and the Knights will collect in two weeks in the great temple hall. It is time that all Jedi know what is going on behind all ambushs.
Qui-Gon Jedi: All Jedi? And what about the senate?
Ki-Adi Mundi: It is too dangerous to inform the Senate about what we know in the moment. As there are certain members of the Confederation in the senate, it was dangerous to talk about such secret information.
Qui-Gon Jinn: But what is this information?
Yoda: Seeing it in two weeks, you will.
Plo Koon: I just though of another person who could help saving the Naboo Queen. The Senate Guardian that shot Palpatine seems to be very loyal to the Republic to me. And as Master Windu ans his knights are protecting the chancellor, we don't depend on one more guardian or less- at least not here, on Coruscant.
Ki-Adi Mundi: You are right. I will call Master Windu and ask him to find this guardian.
Ki-Adi Mundi leaves the room and returns a few seconds later, together with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin and a third.
Ki-Adi Mundi goes back to his armchair again.
Yoda: Bian Wikte I suppose this is.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Yes, Master Yoda. And he would like to come with us to Coruscant. He works a messenger serving the Republic. We can trust him.
Ki-Adi Mundi: Fine. You are a group of five persons then.
Anakin: Five?
Ki-Adi Mundi: Yes, young padawan. You, your master Obi-Wan Kenobi, his former Master Qui-Gon Jinn, Bian Wikte you brought with you and a member of the Senate Guard, called Sca-Re Sarie.
Mace Windu enters, Sca-Re Sarie is following him.
Mace Windu: Here is the Senate Guardian we were looking for.
Ki-Adi Mundi: This is the 5th member of your group. Your spaceship is waiting outside, ask the knights waiting for you outside where to find it.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Yes, Master Mundi.
Mace Windu: May the force be with you.
Obi-Wan, Anakin, Qui-Gon, Bian Wikte and Sca-Re leave the room.
Plo Koon: Now matter how much the Council is trusting them, we have to go to Tatooine too.
Yoda: Speaking the truth, you do.
Mace Windu: Although, we have to go to Kamino at first.
Yoda: Master Drakas, leading the Jedi in the Senate, you now will. Master Windu and Master Mundi, going to Kamino and then to Tatooine, we will.
Jor Drakas: Yes, Master Yoda.
Jor Drakas leaves the room.
In the background, a big Jedi Starship is leaving Coruscant.
In the meantime, on Tatooine. The few surviving Naboo, Queen Amidala, a lady's maid, the Royal Guardians' captain Nivax and three of his soldiers, were waiting for the Council's help. JarJar was asleep.
Queen Padmé Amidala: I am really glad we found this house.
Bren Pain: Well, it's better than sleeping in the sand, I suppose.
Queen Padmé Amidala: I don't care about the comfort. What I at first need is to have a save place to wait for the Jedi to come. And to get answers for the attack from the Council.
Captain Nivax: If they are able to answer...
Queen Padmé Amidala: I think the Jedi Council has more powers and knows more as we all suppose. They sure will know what is happening.
The message transmitter is glowing blue.
Mace Windu: This is Mace Win ...krrzzzzz... ing. Captain Nivax from ...zzrzzkzzrrzzz... yal Guard, can you hear me?
Captain Nivax: Yes, Master Windu, I can hear you.
Mace Windu: Fine. A small group of ...krzzz...zzzk... their way to save you. They should land on Tatooine soon. I have given them your coordinates, so ...krzz... to find you.
Captain Nivax: Thanks, Master Windu.
Mace Windu: May the force be with you.
