View Full Version : Think about it: Jazz Jackrabbit 3D could be something too big for us to take.

This means advanced controls, I mean actions like strafing, aiming with the PC mouse, dodging... I have no problem, but if some people don't use these advanced movements, they'll get whipped my experts who takes advantages of these controls.

Skills is another big thing, too: Like thinking ahead, shooting projectiles at the feet of the players, and shooting projectiles at the corner and expect the player chasing you to fall for it.

Another thing is level editing: If players don't take advantage of making geometry angles, they'll make levels that looks like Rise of the Triad. If they do tried to attempt grometry angles, I expect the custom level quality to be between Tomb Raider and Unreal/Quake III Arena.

What I'm saying is--do you think Jazz Jackrabbit 3 would be too much for you to take?

I play FPS's most of the time anyways. I prefer those controls.

Doesn't it cost more to publish 3D? My friend is asking...

Yoyo Turtle

Matters how much work they put into it.

It will cost alot more to publish a 3D game, and money, we dun have. We already have to get our own server (I think).

Publishing a 3D games isn't much different than publishing one in 2D. Developing a 3D game on the other hand is probably more expensive than 2D, but not enough to prevent the game from being 3D.

After you feel the joy of picking someone off with a sniper rifle from the other side of a level, you will live for mouse aiming.

Cesar

But aiming is useless on phone modem players. Cause the shooting latency is about 1/3 of a second while ALMOST unnoticable on T1/ISDN/DSL/Cable users.

Wish I got my hands on cable modem. [fiddles with fingers]

no

there is just no publisher, epic thought it to be awesome (this is like the 1000th time someone has to explain this..*sigh*)

EvilMike

If anybdy here has played the game MDK2, I think that is how JJ3 should be like. Only JJ3 also needs a nice and complex level editor, modification, and skin capabilities. Games get boring fast when you can't make levels or mods for them.

CE Cosair UR
Jun 30, 2001, 11:22 AM
But will they make it? Answer: No! Epic will not bother to make a game that is related to Jazz now. And if it is, it definely WON'T be like Jazz.

There's my opinion......

ShadowGPW

Its not the opinion(S) but about the facts that we told a 100 times now..

Jazz won't be build by someone.. or at least not for a while!

Remember, it is not because "they" are too lazy, it is simply because they couldn't find a publisher. Look at all the development so far on Jazz 3; that isn't lazy.

I think this forum should be renamed "Arguments of whether Jazz 3 will come out or not".

3D looks better.

no question.

They can still make jj3 2D if they ABSOLULY WANT TO!

<br>

I know what they should DO to improve JCS, JJ3 will be made some day, there is no question.

if JJ3 wont be 3D, JJ4 WILL BE!

HERE is what they should imPROve with JCS...

1.Make a new version

2.make it so you can create your own chacters

3.Make it so YOU CAN create your OWN Enemies!!

_________

Who is they?

Cesar, are you partially implying that I can't strafe? And what if I don't want to? Please, if I wanted to be insulted or questioned a pompus jerkoff like yourself, then I'd find one that doesn't hide behind his computer screen or his 'internet identity'. And also, have you considered the the lack of Jazz 2 players is because that most games now involve some kind of 3rd dimensional movement? Umm.. let's have a look:

Unreal Tournament

Half-Life

Quake II & III

MechWarrior 3, 4

Decent 2, 3

SW: TPM

Bond 64

...countless others, could go on for weeks...

Just don't tell people that they aren't good enough for a game, take pool for example. I'm ok, but not that great. Why I still play? Cause it's fun, and with practice, I'll get better.

Think on this.

Cesar
Jul 29, 2001, 11:25 PM
Same for me, since practice makes perfect. But I don't get the point of your question. And don't beg me to be merciful. Calling me a jerk... I'm insulted http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif

ADD: Am I implying that you can't strafe? You think that because of your negative thoughts; for anyone can strafe; they don't have to, but it depends on the situation of the server game if it's recommended to strafe. I mean if alot of players in the server are capable of strafing.
