Can someone tell me where I can download the patch for 1.23 to 1.24? Because many players on internet are using version 1.24, so I can't join those games then :(

There is no patch from 1.23 to 1.24. However since you are a Dutchie, like I am. You might still be able to find the Jazz2 addon: "The Secret Files". In stores.
If not, you can personal message a dude names "Aiko" to buy it from him.

It's not really worth buying, however to avoid illegal issues and going to hell I recommed you buy it. Aiko or EBay.

What Newspaz said. It is NOT a patch, it's a different game. (The version number is different because it has Lori and stuff)
Tik

Absolutely. They said, "This has Lori in it...so I guess the differences involved are enough for us to add 1/100th to the version number."

The patch that converts Jazz 2 from 1.23 to 1.24 is illegal because Epic never authorized it. I'm sure you can find it, but it would be against the law to use it. Your best bet you would be to buy a copy from Aiko or if you can find one on eBay. It's not really worth it. All you gain is Lori and access to a few servers. It's a completely different game, not an upgrade. Lori has the sidekick (sort of) of Spaz and the copter ears of Jazz.

You are also able to play TSF levels, use TSF tilesets, use the Cat, the Blue Ghost, the TSF MCEs, and create tilesets larger then 1020 tiles.

It's just better. But most players here are to lazy to buy it and come up with lame excuses that it's bad anyway.

If you have ICQ and a fast connection I'll send it to you.
Why ICQ and not MSN? Because ICQ is better with filetransfers cause it has the resume-option. #101354404
I would send you the patch if I still have it, but I deleted it because I already had TSF. Maybe I can get retrieve it again.

It's very cheap in the Dutch stores. I remember buying it for 50 Guilders (around 25 Euro), but last time I checked it was only 15 Guilders .

Dynabyte stores still tend to have it. Otherwise try V&D or bookstores which sell games.
If none of these stores have the game try messaging Aiko.

another question, there are servers on the internet (from jazz jackrabbit 2 offcourse :P) I can't enter, why is that (and no, it aren't servers with a password) ??

If you mean the greyed out servers, 1.23- servers will be greyed out in TSF and I think any servers with a version number above yours will also be greyed out.
(TCC and HH98 are a different version entirely, I believe, and thus need you using the exact same program to join, but I'm not sure about this)

1.23- servers will be greyed out in TSF
where can I get this.

No, no, no. You have to buy 1.24. It would be illegal if you downloaded it for free. There's nothing wrong with having 1.24, and it's quite legal, assuming you buy it in the legal way. Greyed out servers are usually 1.24 servers, and they require 1.24 to join. Buy 1.24, an entirely seperate game, and then you can join both. If it's a 1.23 server, start up 1.23 and join. If it's 1.24, start up 1.24 and join.

I won't lie and say there isn't a way. It would be hard to find TSF on a program like kAzAa because it's so old. Warezing is never a good thing to do legally and morally, and the risk of getting a virus while trying to find files like these is sometimes high. The honest thing to do would be to buy it from someone like Aiko. I can't stop you from downloading it Warez, but I'm not going to tell you where.

Ofcourse you can try Kazaa. I used Kazaa to download a lot of games, like Civilization 3, Star Wars Galattic Battlegrounds, Clone Campaigns, Empire Earth, Heroes of might and magic, Virtua Fighter, Sim City 3000, Settlers 4, Mortal Kombat 4, Red Alert 2 and much more. But you should be careful, don't take too small files, they're probably virusses. And not ALL the games you download from KaZaA work.
You could also try to get a friend to temporarily give you the CD so you can burn or install it (it's how I got 1.23 for the first time), or ask someone to send it to you by internet (it's how I got 1.23 back, months later). Same with TSF. Easy.

Cracco, the JCF does not condone illegal things such as warez or spreading information on how to illegally obtain software.

It doesn't? Geez, and then you're just trying to help someone out.
There used to be times when kind help, from deep inside the heart was appreciated.

TSF is no longer made, which will make it quite hard to find. Getting it on Warez would not be easy at all, but neither would finding it in a store. If you didn't find it using kAzAa (and I'm glad you didn't) then the only thing left would be to buy it from Aiko. His price is reasonable, and you're getting it from someone reliable. kAzAa does, obviously, not have a great reliability history. Warez is not allowed on this message board according to the rules for several reasons. No matter how much help it does, there's still the fact that it's quite illegal. Helping one person is always a good thing to do, but if it's illegal just helping that one person could get the message board shut down, which wouldn't really be worth it. Contact Aiko about this, as Newspaz said, and he'll send you a retail box with a quite legal copy of 1.24. And for the person who asked if getting 1.23 and 1.24 together as a "package deal" is legal: it really depends. If they packaged them together in one box without Epic's permission, that's likely to be illegal. However, if the two games came together (preferably in their original package) in an Epic-sanctioned deal, it's pretty likely that it's legal. Warezing is never a good thing to get into, and could get the board and members in serious trouble.
For all of you, because I dobut anyone took the time to read that the summary is: buy it from Aiko. ;)

yeah I know what you mean, but I guess I will play this game only for a few weeks, so I don't want to buy it, then I'll use it like 20 times and then I don't need it anymore =\

Yeah, buy it from me, special price for my dutch friends: 10 EUR (actually not because all dutchies are my friends but because shipping to the NL is so much cheaper than overseas to the US :-).
And on a side note: don't tell them guys to private message me. I *never* check that PM inbox thing. Better e-mail me at 360@41k0.org or contact me on iCQ: 124380878.

Since we're kinda on the topic here, is there any patch that converts backwards? From TSF to 1.23?
Before everyone asks, I did buy the original JJ2 from EB. I have TSF now. I want to see what I'm missing in all these 1.23 servers. :(

Why do you rent-a-mod? It's better to post in existing threads with logical posts than to make a new topic.
