Yeah that's me, I still have that on one of the PC's on my network. I was actually looking at it, I couldn't even remember the name... then I found a folder called "universejazz". I'm still amazed that we got that site kinda popular and then just shut down. I don't remember my reason ;).

Anyway, I found another old site too, http://erealm.hypermart.net/ ... man that was years ago :D!

Of course people remember UJ, it was the J2C replacement. Of course, it was barely up for long at all, but it was very prominent. It also destroyed my old site, the Rabbit Hole, which was killed millions upon millions of days ago.

Did you, by the way, know that DrJones put all UJ levels up on his LoriCentral site shorly after you closed it? Well, i suppose you do, but hey, if you didn't even remember the *name* of UJ :-) Unfortunately that part of LC is (temporarily) down at the moment.

And check this quote from my article on reviews i wrote two years ago in this article (http://www.jazz2online.com/articles/view.php?id=12):

"However, a site called UniverseJazz came and tried to take J2C's place. It pretty much copied most of the content of J2C but it wasn't able to copy the download section. The reason for this was that Alienators reviews were good, but most people found them too harmless and uncritical. He and the other staff members that posted the download also used the 3-star-rating-system that was made famous by J2C. I already described the disadvantages and this time they showed up better. There were simply too many bad levels that got a three star rating. There also was a download ratings "highscore" (there already was something similar at J2C) that counted every click on that download link. To be honest, i never liked that idea because it's too easy to manipulate and cheat. But apart from that and the way how UJ suddenly died, we also should pay respect for Alienator's work as the download master of his site. It kept people making levels."

I read your article Aiko, I liked it :). Yeah I guess I'm just too nice to be too critical... hehe. I'm thinking about making another tileset and yes to the question (* i did make earthrealm ) which really SUCKS compared to my graphics skill now... ( I was just getting started back then ). I think I'll start making some tilesets in my spare time. I need a new hobby :).

WB, Alienator, didn't expect to see you again! You know how much confusion, panic, and grief the sudden deletion/closing of UJ caused in the community? Hah! And we're still here (Proving Jazz isn't dead!) So, I always wondered, why did you close without warning? At least J2C stayed up a while without updates, but you deleted everything! (I was just about to release a tileset too.)

Anyway, glad you're back. Don't do anything crazy like that again. No hard feelings, though.

Alienator didn't just do UJ, though...doesn't anyone remember the Unofficial Daily Carrot? Also we probably wouldn't have the "Comedy Cafe" section here if it weren't for his Jazz2 Comedy Cafe site a loooong time ago that sparked the interest in a Comedy section in the forums.

So in retrospect, Alienator is inadvertantly responsible for all of the Comedy Cafe poll spamming. Nyah.

Yeah I don't remember why I closed UJ down. I think it was when I started working in the real world and just didn't have time anymore. Now I work nights and get home at 1 in the morning so I have all the time I need now.

Yeah to answer your question I do play Jazz MP sometimes, I never used to be able to play it because I was on a PROXY with a firewall, but now I'm just on a regular router. ( I still can't host though unless I open myself up ;) )
