Ok people,

I have a warning. PiccoloCC (NOT Piccolo here) is giving out a virus. It already happened to Krypton today. His brother Commensalism is saying he needs people to test that new program PiccoloCC made. What the virus does is completely un-installs JJ2 from your computer! BEWARE! If you have any more news, or anthing to add, please reply!

Thanks,
CasperTRC
P.S Commensalism told me he does not know what it does, so don't blame him please!

It's actually a fairly basic Trojan horse that deletes C:\Games\Jazz2. Just don't accept programs that you don't know from him, or anyone else in fact.

Thanx for the warning, I hope many people see this and will avoid piccolocc and not accept any packages from him. For safety measures, I always have a backup.

My Jazz2 is not on c/games btw:p

It shows how bad he is at programming if C:\Games\Jazz 2 is hardcoded in. If I were making a trojan (not that I would) I would detect where JJ2 was.

I was talking to Krypton while we were playing and she said that all she did was download it into her Temp 1 file, double-click on it, and a small window or something came up and that there was nothing in it and that the only way to get rid of it was to restart it or something, and even then it wasn't gone. Bleh, I'll have her explain it for you. :P

He also wanted to send me one. But I went offline before he could because I had to go to bed. Thanks for warning me in case he'll try again!

It deletes C:\Games\Jazz2 ? Haha, that's pretty pathetic of a program. Personally all of my games are on my D drive, and I'm sure a lot of Jazzers don't install jj2 into such a default directory, though many probably do.

He sent me a copy and I disassembled it since I had heard rumors that the program was malicious. The copy that I received, about a month old, specifically deleted C:\Games\Jazz2 but I've heard rumors he's made a new version that just deletes any "jazz2.exe" files on the entire hard drive, but they are just that, rumors. I have no way of confirming this until I can get another sample. Until then, just take precaution not to accept files that you aren't expecting and could be damaging. It's as simple as that.

Trafton: apparently different files. Disregard this post.

I don't even have a flamin' C:\Games folder. I've got too many games on my (new! ^_^) compy to put them all into one folder. I mean, what's the point?

This topic is starting to loose its point and turning in to how piccolo is acting, and how each of us is getting the program and deleting it. It would be nice if someone actually posted something smart like "If you open the package accidentally, and it deletes your jazz, the only way to get it back is...." or something. That would really help.

If u took wut i said in a bad way by mistake, no offence to any of u, but it would be helpful is someone posted that, instead of bragging how they got it.

BTW. I never got the virus if u were thinking that ;P

"If you open the package accidentally, and it deletes your jazz"
For my knowledge that isnt possible only if it deletes it into Trashcan.

You can find several programs at download.com which you can use to find things back you once throw out of your <s>trash</s> crash can.

Hmm, I didn't realize this was dead. Klein linked it in the chat room: #jj2. So I thought it was an active topic.

Yahoo! We have another bonafide Trojan maker.

@ Link and Trafton: It seems like Piccolo <s>CC</s> is improving his l33t programming ski11z.

Do not run programs from unknown sources.

Besides, a program that simply deletes Jazz 2 is no amazing programming feat. However, that is irrelevant; just do not open programs from unknown sources.

I don't have a single game on my C drive.

C, is the dangerous drive. Only certain programs or no programs at all go on C. My Jazz 2 is installed on F:\Jazz Jackrabbit 2
