I saw that ages ago. It was some strange costume party or something, and someone dressed up as Jazz. Nothing big. I considered going as Jazz for Halloween this year, too.

As for European furry conventions: watch out for TreeCon 2003! The new big Dutch convention to be hosted in January!
On the matter of fursuiting, it's more popular in the USA than in Europe. Last time I went to Eurofurence there were but a few fursuiters. Though their costumes looked great!

One is never too young to go to a con. Most cons do have adults-only rooms and such, but security is pretty tight. Minors mostly get special badges to indicate they are not yet at legal age for certain things and to enter any rooms one has to wear their badge.
I myself have been in the fandom... all my live, it's just that I realized what it was a few years ago. :)
