I started making a tileset.
Everything went well, and soon I had 2 .PCX's, one for the graphics, and one for the mask.
So I start JCS, go to the Tileset Organizer, add it and click "rebuild all".

That is where the trouble starts. I keep getting this message:

Error! Can't open file "C:\games\Jazz2\Tiles\Gamers.pcx"

What did I do wrong?
Can someone tell me the steps you need to take in order to make a tileset, maybe I missed one.

Please help

Your tileset need to be on 256 colors. That's the problem.

Oh, and don't use the "rebuild all" button. You'll get lots of errors from it trying to rebuild all the tilesets other people made.

Thanks!

Hmmm... I can't seem to find a way to convert my tileset to 256 colors.
Who uses Photoshop? Can someone gimme a tip?

[edit 2]
Whee! I succeeded!
But when I converted it, the colors were srambled, and when I started the game, Jazz looked weird too!

Grrr.. I hate Photoshop. And I hate MSPaint too.
Ya see, I made the tiles and mask with PS, then saved them in 256 colors using MSPaint.
Result: the background color changes slightly and all blocks are totally solid.

Ah yes, the edited palette thing. And MS Paint is a total no-no for tilesets, since it used it's own set of colors instead of the palette the drawing uses. Better use Paint Shop Pro. :)

Using it isn't the problem.
Getting it is the difficult part.
