I'm doing a MIDI assignment at school, and I'm basing two of my songs off of some of the Christmas music from JJ1. (gotta love that christmas spirit...! :D) Anyway, I went to Monolith's server to try to get the original files (xm2.s3m, xmas3.s3m)... and it said that his DNS2Go account has been disabled. The server is completely shut down.

What could this mean for the JJ2 Community if their best supplies server is cut off? What could this mean for me if I don't have the source file for the song I'm composing?!!

*shakes fist at those monkey methane pplz wot cut off 'Lith's server*

Would someone plz be kind enough to tell Monolith that his server's dead? Or redirect me to another server wot holds that JJ1 music?

Edit: Waitasec, is xmas3.s3m even from JJ1? Sounds like something used in one of the JJ2:CC levels. Anyway.

Thx.

Did I mention that I need that source file by lunch today? Which gives me exactly 33 minutes to find those source files...

I included most JJ1 music files in this download (http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/moreinfo.php?levelid=454) on j2o. Some are missing, but the christmas music should be there.

I'm guessing you haven't noticed various posts about DnS2Go (anything Idlegames, basically) being dead.

It isn't dead, only for fee. I payed, so mine still works.

Anyways, I actually talked to Monolith a while ago about this (because the site was listed in DMOZ). He said that he will still host the music, but his PC is broken right now and he is waiting for parts to fix it.

Off-topic this is, but aren't there other domain name services like dyndns (dyndns.org) that offer the same service as DNS2GO sans the charge?

I'm aware of them, but I didn't feel like changing. I'm willing to pay a small fee to make less work for me. (And I get to keep the same forwarding address). Also, since I use the subdomain "link", I think it will be harder to find a different link.something now that these services are becoming more popular.

I am aware that monolith.idlegames.com is no more. I actually do have a new domain, but recently I've had problems worse than not having an active domain name. My computer encountered multiple hardware failures, and I currently can't access the files I had up on my server. This week, I'm still finishing up finals, but after I'm done with those I can start work on getting things back in order.

Enigma: Thanks for the dl. Now all I gotsta find is that durned xmas3.s3m... *sporadically is*

UR: I apologize for being ignorant. I'll look around more next time.

So, is xmas3.s3m (Little Drummer Boy remix) from HH9x or JJ2:CC? It may help if I knew where to look for it first...

Edit: Sneft. I finished the MIDI project in time for the Christmas concert, and my teacher thought the songs were great. Thank you, Rob Allen! *bows down*
