View Full Version : I can hardly expect anyone to remember me...

I just dropped by for a visit. I haven't played Jazz2 in ages. I glad to see that Jazz will be coming out on the GBA. I'm also impressed that many people are still faithful followers of the 1998 sequal of the game that made history (at least for us).
Can you guys give me a brief overview of the past two years (very brief)? Did Jazz2 go open source? Is Wakeman still around? How about Bobby?
See ya around!
Feline -- I'm back. :)

Bobby is still around and active as ever. Wakeman is dead here, more or less. He hasn't posted in ages, and I think he has a good 3 or 4 posts in this entire board. He's too busy flipping burgers and McD's no doubt.
I remember you for the mere fact that you always got ****ed off when people thought you were a girl because you had "Feline" in your name.
Hi.

Aww... You're just saying that. But you're right. That did happen a lot...
I must have been in tenth grade when I stopped playing Jazz2. Now I'm in college as a Computer Science major.
I heard that a patch was created for Jazz2 that fixed something in CTF? A weapon regenerator thingie?

Meh. Defalcon. I'm pretty sure I had you on my ICQ list. Used to play you when I hosted a lagged-up, 56K server. Ring any bells? :)
Feline
Dec 15, 2002, 07:28 PM
Sort of. If you had me on your contact list then you must have gotten my name from somewhere...
I used to use ICQ. I haven't tried it in ages. I don't even remember my number. Check my profile... It should be there.
I'll try to log on ICQ.

I've seen you before, actually more than once--you're some oldie person from the JMMB <s>which I was too stupid to post on until early '01</s>. I know you are a he, too. ;-P
You probably don't know who I am, but I don't care.
Welcome back, if you're staying; if you aren't staying then Whateva', Yo'. =)

Ahhh... The JMMB. I heard that Jazz2city was going to be reawakened. What happened with that?

MEH. I lost my ICQ list like 3 times before, I used to have your number but apparently not anymore.
EDIT: Hm...it's still there apparently, just can't find it.

I'm on ICQ right now (actually Licq on linux). The functions on the linux version are very buggy.

Welcome back. Someone get the chains and tape. Let's make sure this one stays. ;P
Feline

Chains? Tape? I'm not busy with any college work (other than the fact that I have a final tommorow). The semester is over. I should be here for a while.

Yo, Feline! Long time no see! Welcome back. :)
Jazz2 did not go open source. Wakeman I haven't seen for a long time. Bobby is still around (as always:)) and can be found on jj2 most days.
The 1.23 patch can be downloaded from Haze's Hideout at http://jazz3d.cjb.net/ (be sure to get patch for registered ver).
You'll also need the list server patch--the list.jazzjackrabbit.com server went down a long time ago and the list server currently in use is jazz.logicware.com. The list server patch built into the .exe file can be downloaded from J2O at http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/moreinfo.php?levelid=769
Unless I'm missing something, that should be all you need to play on-line, other than the original game.
Feline
Dec 15, 2002, 07:50 PM
You're still around, Turtle! :) However, I can't play jazz2 online anymore. My father hates it when I do those kind of things. I should be getting my own connection on my computer in my room. However, until then, I can't do anything about the Jazz 2 problem.

EvilMike
Dec 15, 2002, 08:36 PM
I know a way we can make him stay. He might die in the process though. Simply invent a machine that turns human beings into bits of information, and store it on the j2o server, keeping him as a prisoner. It's worth a try.
Hmm, I think I forgot something.
Oh yeah. Welcome back. If you are AtomicFeline, I suggest you do not read the above paragraph and pretend I'm not psychopathic.

I can hardly expect anyone to remember me...
You're that person in the Atomic clan who did stuff. And I seem to recall you're Jewish, but I could be wrong.
I glad to see that Jazz will be coming out on the GBA.
I think you're part of a minority, but I'm not quite sure.
I'm also impressed that many people are still faithful followers of the 1998 sequal of the game that made history (at least for us).
You're just saying that.
Can you guys give me a brief overview of the past two years (very brief)?
Stuff happened, Disguise left, Disguise came back, Disguise left, Disguise came back. Oh, and DL merged with EM to form DM, GpW died, came back, died, and came back again. Lots of new gametypes were invented, Trafton came and overthrew Aiko, and throughout it all Epic ignored us. JJA was announced, and we all saw how Jazz has been changed and messed up. That sort of thing.
Did Jazz2 go open source?
Sadly, no.
Is Wakeman still around?
No, though if you ask him, he'll tell you no.
How about Bobby?
Bobby's still here. Ask for Dizzy.

In any case, welcome back. No one really ever leaves..... (:
I don't remember ever talking with you. I've been around for a while..but I don't think our paths ever crossed. I know of you, though. I'm known on JJ2 as SprintManDM (formerly DL, ever since EG+Merc+DL=DM) and most everywhere else as vivIsel.

By the way, you asked about a patch sort of thing to fix weapon respawn, I did release something that helps fix loose weapons, but to actually understand what it does it is best if I just show you online sometime.

WB, Feline!
To all who don't know, I met Feline in real life without knowing it several years back. Definitely one of the cooler experiences of my life. Now we're good friends.
Great to see that you are back at the board. Watch out for rampant insanity, pie spam, most comedy cafe polls, and many of the mega-spam games you see lieing around.
Oh, and when you are able to play online, be sure to try Assassination and BlurredD's Survivor levels, two great new game types that rock. And join the JDC. And stuff.
So, what prompted you to come back? Boredom? Well, there's no need to be bored here! Enjoy your stay! You can never leave.
What did you miss? Well good and evil had epic battles, then cornbread and gingerbread had epic battles, then pie lovers and pi lovers had epic battles, then Dethman haters and Dethman non-haters had epic battles... basically nothing important :p
BTW, Why isn't Trafton a JCF Member? He has no title... that is strange. Is it because he was temporarily made a mod.?

Heh, nope. :)
It's because Cobra rolled back my posts and messed around with my profile and preferences (I was asking for it by filling my profile with fish...long story). Just a side effect that was fixed by posting. I kind of liked having blank status, though. Too bad I couldn't keep it. ;)

Hello again. We encountered each other with what seemed to be equal confusion earlier on ICQ.
Strange.. it seems there are more people responding here than I thought were still around. WhiteFange and Cobra for example, but there are still many others that are still absent. Or maybe I've just been falling behind on the going-ons of this community.
I know how it is. When school and (school)work starts to take over your life, it's hard to stay connected.
