Hey Fquist, which time zone does the board use? I would suggest using GMT (Greenwich Mean Time, London, England), thats the world standard. Maybe you could add a GMT offset info to the profiles (see? using the j2o profiles would be helpful! :-)

I will look into it. I don't know for myself actually. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

But in any case, the dates this forum uses are very hard to convert. But I'll look into it anyways.

It uses GMT-6, thats "U.S. central time" or however they call it. I suggest using GMT :-)

Its in -6? Bah, it should be on -5. ;P

I don't mind to see PST(extracting 10 hours from my time is easier than others ;P) or GMT.. Having personal time zones for people would be nice too, if possible.. (example: nagcentral BB)

And it's a fact that the European Jazzer population is more than the American one<s>, so let the superior time zone, GMT rule the JCF!</s> Err..

I agree with Bobby! -5 all the way!

The USA is the only country that really matters. Set it to EST. ;D

Man, I forgot this is GMT+1...6 hours earlier in America, that makes -6 + 1 = -5, GMT -5! Boy, do i feel dumb...

*cough* PST is the coolest timezone. GMT -8 forever! *cough*

Quist, does phpBB use time() or a date() funtion to determine times? if it's time(), timezones shouldn't be too hard to implent.

FireClaw

No, iCeD is right, -8!

Anyway, shouldn't there be something to make it so you can set what time zone you're in?

Y not make the time customizable(like the layout of the forum)? Also, tis my first post here, I like the Ultimecia layout.

No, GMT is the standard! http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Of course, there's no bias from the fact that I live there.

But seriously, most Jazzers are European, so using GMT so everyone understands would be easier...

GMT All the way. Just because you are american it doesn't mean we're going to use your timezone ;)

Or something to choose your own timezone would be great ;)

heh, you guys forget about one thing. all your +-X is the best will be senseless the next days (heres its tomorrow) when the daylight saving times comes >:-)))

btw its not about the usual europeans vs. americans dispute. its just that GMT (also known as UTC) is the world standard time :-)

ships, airports and many more HAVE to use it.

oh and GMT+2 is the best! (from tomorrow on ;-)))

Daylight saving times always confuse me.. Is it like one continent changes its time by one hour and one week or something later the other one does, and it goes on like that till all time zone differences are like before again?

I'm US Central... muahaha. But either US Eastern or GMT would make more sense.
