I am timing out of every game.
No other applications are using my wonderful Dial Up connection
NO FIREWALLS are loaded.
I use MyVine.Com as my ISP

Which patches do you have? Also, are you able to host games?

Three key words are in this message.
"Dial Up Connection".
What speed are you getting? 33.6? 28.8? 14.4? or 56k? More information needed to diagnose the problem.

Sorry about that...
I normally connect at a minimum of 45k bps and a maximum of 48k bps.
I use 1.23 patch, I also loaded a server patch to automatically put in this website's server names.

I can host a game, but after about 15 minutes no one joined...

Probably because your server is pinging.
Are you sharing the connection with other PCs?

Hmm I don't know but try going into Regedit-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Epic MegaGames-1.23-List Servers.
Now delete string 001, and rename string 000 to jazz.logicware.com
Maybe this will work...

Sharing probably isn't the problem. Because I sharred and the other computer could join the server that this computer was hosting. And otehr people could join, except after some time the server usually auto-shutsdown.

so what you want me to do in the registry is go in to ../Jazz Jackrabbit 2/1.23/List Servers/ and make a string value named 000 and set the data to jazz.logicware.com
is this correct?
and another thing...i used to ahve ICS running with WinME, but ME just ****ED me off with all its bugs, so i put 98SE on, and now i can open ICS but it does jack...any ideas on this one either???

No man, listen after u go to the folders i listed. There are already 2 strings there
1st is String 000-list.jazzjackrabbit.com
2nd is String 001-jazz.logicware.com
All you have to do is rename the first string (000) to jazz.logicware.com and delete the 2nd string (001).

That is not the problem. Messing with regedit is dangerous.
Do you have a router?

Oh, well he could easily backup his regedit, if anything went wrong.

True, but usually these problems are caused by a router.

If there are no strings in there, that is probably the problem. Make a value called 000 and put "jazz.logicware.com" into it.
Or you could get an easier patch from various places, but since you're already in regedit and found the spot I don't think it should be a problem.
If that doesn't fix it, report back here.

Hey, do you know why some servers are passworded? Because the host doesn't want others to join :P
