Didn't you notice that lately LOTS of lame stuff has been uploaded to J2O? More than that, most of these stuff is made by the same "people" who probably don't understand why they get low rating. This is annoying.

Beginners have always been uploading things on J2O. Some react very badly to what ratings they get and some improve their work as they should. I have not noticed a huge amount of fluxctuation lately. If they can not turn their ratings into ways to improve their skill, they will not improve. It is as simple as that.

That is true, which is why it is always good to throw in positive comments when you are reviewing first levels. I do not improve my rating just because it is a first work, however, as that would be unfair. It is, after all, the download quality that is reviewed.

Which is why I am still making levels now. ;)
New players never make high-quality levels. If they choose to stick around, however, the levels will improve -- it's just that not many do.

The first part is not always completely true. Some levelmakers (the vast minority, maybe 5%) make great first levels. Some just make so-so ones (maybe 15%). The remaining 80%, however, generally do not make very good levels. With practice, those 80%-ers can greatly increase their skill and make really good levels. It is a matter of dedication. Making a bad level for your first level is not a bad thing; however, acting like everyone should rate higher just because you are new and then still taking that view on the forth or fifth uploaded level is simply resting on the fact that the levelmaker is new. They can not continue using this "I'm new excuse" and most that use this are not actually that dedicated and end up not improving. That way, most of the people who are dedicated to making levels eventually improve a lot and those that aren't do not. There are plenty of exceptions, but this is often what happens.

Your cat is more scary.
And you at least learn from mistakes.
Some don't.
That's who I talk about.
We know Bjarni for a while... and his new level is a disaster.

Bjarni is something of an eternal n00b. I mean, that one level that he said something like "please give me a 7.5 for this level" and everyone gave him twos and threes, and then he got upset... It's not a surprise that he got twos and threes, as he obviosly put a whole seventeen seconds worth of hard work into his level. Excuse me, levels.
Considering I've only seen one first level, and that's my own, (http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/moreinfo.php?levelid=2051) I really have no right to rant about people sending in bad first levels. I'm sure people like Wisey and Blade made excellent first levels. However, as was said earlier, the vast majority make bad first levels, and I'm taking Traft's word on that. After all, I'm sure he's reviewed nigh on every level on J2O.

The beginers arent attacking j2o, uploading crappy levels isnt part of a diabolical plot.
Its true how people make better levels if they stick around. I stuck around on j20, and in a few moths my average rating changed from a 4.2 to a 6.3 (average rating) You could take a look at my levels and see that over time they changed.

My first level was rather pathetic, too. Nothing as bas as one-tiled stuff or anything. Everything fit together and everything...it was just...crappy. Methinks having noobs upload their first level is okay, however if they are spamming the list with a load of crap then its okay to delete them. Quality over quantity, but let them upload their first POS's so that they can get constructive critisism.

Um um um toaster. I actually based it on the first uploaded level you... um... uploaded, not the first level you created. Therefore, my guess might have been off by a little bit.
