View Full Version : MCE's STUFF

Hmm....Firstly, let me start with what made me post this. I am making a level, and want to put in some MCE's (the ones in crates) I already know what number is that or that and stuff, but I have seen some Enemies inside crates, so I decided to figure out how. Looking at the MCE List in the article section, it doesnt show any enemy MCE's, so I did a bit of jj2 exploring. Firstly, I played Splash CC's hero for hire pack, because it had those enemies in crates, I found out event number 120was a demon enemy, and event number 123 was a dragonfly enemy. (they were in the crates). So i put in a crate into my old and abandoned level with the extra event set to 120 (Demon enemy) and num event set to 1. When I played the level I opened the crate (twas a bomb crate, like all the other tiems i do this) and nothing came out. After thinking a while, I decided to add in a "demon" enemy into my level. I bust open the crate and there was a demon inside. So I found out that in order for the enemies in the crate to work you have to have the same type of enemy somewhere in the level.
I tried experimenting with some other MCE's, the ones with None(?) or Font beside them and put in different enemies in my level and here is what I found out:

EVENT 118: Helmnut enemy
EVENT:115 SKELETON ENEMY
EVENT 116: DOGGY DOG ENEMY
EVENT 110: CATERPILLAR ENEMY
Also, thanks to splash's pack for letting me find out that event number 120 is a demon and even 123 is a dragonfly.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember, for these MCE's to work, the enemy which you are planning to use in an MCE must be somewhere else in your level wandering around.
OTHER NOTICE: I have only tried putting these in crates, Im not sure what will happen if they are put out of a crate.

ALso, I will try discovering more of these, who knows what things some MCE numbers marked "None" in the article can conceal.

Also, If you know this already im sorry for posting it and mentioning the obvious for you, but I talked to some people online (Fs and NInja) and they didnt know about this and gave me positive opinions about posting this. If you want to post a comment here, or point out some other enemies in the MCE's feel free to do so.

Note: IF you think this is unimportant, you're wrong, because these enemies can be put into crates in SP levels and be as traps or something. Also, if I made a mistake in this topic, plz correct me. Thanx.

Nice. ;)

Yeah, they could be very useful.

Every event has a number. You can access these events in crates by putting their number in the "Exra event" line (I think). To get an event's number, make a generator for the event and it'll say "Event Number: blahblahblah". Copy that number into the Extra Event box.

I think a nice thing to use this for is putting light events in crates on completely dark levels (Ice is also great in the dark, as it glows).

That'd be cool radium. I just usually put stuff like coins in crates and stuff, sometimes I put enemies in for traps and stuff, but light would be a great idea.

Oh, and yeah. In the crate section, extra event means the MCE number and numevent means how many of that MCE do you want to be in that crate (Ex. Extra event:44 (silver coin) Num event: 4=4 silver coins) The numevent only goes up to 15 though, just wanted to clear that up:)

Actually you have not discovered anything new. On the MCE list, those 'None' events were for specifically MCE's. What you are talking about is SCE. MCE's are multiple-combo-events (I think) and SCE's are single-combo-events. Since the only actual event is the crate with stuff in the crate specifide by the number, it is an SCE. There is no SCE list because most of the SCE's are the same as the MCE's, but in some cases they differ, like now.

I don't think you need to have the enemy somewhere else in the level for it to work. I'm pretty sure there are other events for the crate (something and RandomFly). The RandomFly should not be set to 0, but to any number up to 15. This number specifies the number of extra events the crate contains.

Hey,thanks!:p

Spaztic, you need to have the enemy in your level. Its just like the smoke rings in crates, they wont work unless you have them elsewhere in your level. Same goes with the enemies spaztic. Trust me, I tried this throroughly.

Ok. Nevertheless remember about using the RandomFly property and that you are talking about SCE's and not MCE's.

This is a good topic... refreshes my memory of SCE's and MCE's...

God knows how long ago I've used them :D

They might come in handy :D

Thanks to Spaztic for finding this out:

To check what SCE or MCE number an enemy is, click on select event, find the enemy you want(ex.)

Say you dont know what SCE number the caterpillar enemy is (though Ive told you already) Search for the caterpillar enemy in the enemies section. Put a generator on it and you'll see its Event number 110. Take that event and insert it into the "extra event" section in crates and youll see a caterpillar in a crate. Its that simple (I cant beleive I hadnt known this sooner)

Another reply to Spaztic: The randomfly does NOT tell how many of that type of SCE the crate has, the numevent does that:p

Well...there *is* a RandomFly. Good for nothing =P

is it actually doing anything? I mean the RandomFly? (too lazy to check..)

I think it has something to do with when you destroy the crate where the peices fly or something. But im not sure, and it isnt very useful anyways.

You can see the numbers in find/replace event lists too
