Cobra says it works... I always trust Cobra.

Mind you absolutely nothing on it is even close to finished... it's basically a developer's playground right now. And yes, that's RPGMaker2000 I used.

Wait, never mind... the problem was that it was among the setup files, and not with the other stuff. I'll edit this with comments later.

Indeed, there seems to be little to do. Why is this in the War Tavern?

Harrumph! RPGMaker is too finicky, there's no way around downloading the RTP... I just found out tonight why, though. The RTP includes a font which if I could make one of my own I wouldn't rely on the RTP whatsoever. But I uploaded the RTP I use to my website, (it's hard to find the darn thing otherwise):

P.S. You'll soonly find out why it's in the War Tavern. Moo ha ha!

Captain Spam's slapping attack scares me.

Oh, and the Conquerer RPG Maker project has been "upgraded" to a Game Maker project (in the early stages). 320 by 240 resolution was annoying me. Yay, you're now the RPGM2k people.

If you tell RPG maker to include RTP files in the game, it will put all the files you need to run it in the install file. If you don't want all the default anime graphics, just take them out of RTP, make the install file, and put them back.

Oh, RPGMaker.... mind uploading a tutorial or something? Only a short one so I know how to do a little bit with that thing?

Rowr? We talking about a better RPG-making program, Radium? And I've already tried the whole removing the RTP directory and then telling it to add it anyway... Unknown Rabbit sums up the results of that endeavor. Also, for those who already have the RTP, I figure they'd rather not have to download it again, so it's a better idea to keep the game and RTP separate.

Some known issues:
If you get a full party then go back to the beginning of the game you get two of one character running around with you and well, let's just say I know about it and it's not really a problem because when the game is finished you shouldn't be able to go back to the beginning of the game, anyway.

And I know there's no plot, it's just a developer's playground for right now.

Actually, I've made it more of a RPG-Adventure-Strategy-Something-Something else thing. It'll take longer to complete, but will be worth it.

Well, if you remove the whole RTP directory, including the vital files, what do you expect? Just remove everything in folders, like the default graphics and sounds.

BTW, the game has very nice graphics (by Cobra, I presume). Playing games is more fun when you know someone had to really suffer to draw all those animations.

She's as good an inspiration as she is an artist, which is much more than I can say for the stuff I make... So there. And we kinda used to have the same style way back in the day... now she got better. *Sniffle*

Oh yeah, and Cap'n Spam's slapping attack is really just him tapping the monster on the shoulder (but I can't make it accurate enough that it always appears to tap on every monster's shoulder). Once I add in sounds, it'll be more apparent. And even still, Cap'n Spam will mostly be using his trusty Spam Gun (tm). Moo ha ha.

And, you can make it daytime by going to a local inn (the brown building to the northeast) and saying you want to wake up in the morning instead of in the evening.

Alright, here's why this is in the War Tavern, whether or not anyone cares to know... While I've done a lot of work with this (more programming-wise than art, I suppose) I really didn't put much effort into a plot, and I know that's no way to make an RPG. (I hate games that put more effort into eye-candy than story, especially RPGs). Usually I have no problem with coming up with stories, but when it comes to this one I wind up drawing nearly a complete blank. I still have some of the story in line, and background, and defintely character concepts, but no real plot, yet. I know a lot of peoples here have no problem coming up with stories, though, so I was hoping to recruit some help in this, art-wise, music-wise, story-wise, whatever you got.

I'll give a list of characters and bios a little later.

Sheesh, Pho is everywhere! And to think I still never met her.

I'm not going to ask anyone in particular, though, they'd feel obligated to either give me an excuse not to, or say they'll help and then not. Although I'm really not sure how many peoples read the War Tavern, let alone a subject titled with a weird laugh.

For those interested anyway, here's what's up:

Name: Bluez Bunny (One of the four main characters)
Species: Bunny
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Degree: Rogue
Weapon Preference: CG-1024
Powers: Bluez has the ability to adapt the personality and powers of others that he comes in contact with over moderate periods of time. He also has a keen 'sixth' sense.
Theme Music: Bassy ambience, seemingly fast-paced, yet sneaky and with a beat.

Appearance: Blue bunny, black jumpsuit with a black overcoat, shades, and fingerless gloves. He's above average height, but not enough to stand out. He has a moderate build, neither bustling with muscles, nor scrawny.

History: Bluez was born in the middle of a large war between Rabbits and Elephants. His father was in the military, and was forced to move to a remote base. His mother, however, while pregnant with Bluez still wanted to live with his father, no matter how far or how dangerous it was. So when Bluez was born, he basically grew up on a military base for the first several years of his life. He then moved back to Carrotus, when the war was finally over. Currently Bluez attends an art college with his girlfriend Michelle Mynx (who will be described later) on the planet Metropolis.

Personality: Bluez prefers the shadows to standing out in the open. He's a quick wit, whether finding a means of getting out of a taxing situation, or just talking to others in general. He's a master of unconventional creativity, and utilizes it thoroughly throughout his career and personal life. Bluez prefers to keep his peers entertained and in good morale, despite his dark appearance.

Name: Roger Rat "The Mighty"
Species: Rat
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Degree: Body-Guard
Weapon Preference: Fists (or a really big hammer)
Powers: Rat's just frickin' huge, what more does he need?
Theme Music: Moderately-paced, cute industrial metal.

Appearance: Large, brutish-looking black rat, with a childish curiosity in his face. He wears only pants since he's been unable to find a shirt in his size. His build is massive.

History: Roger grew up without a father, and thus was forced to be the 'man' of the house at an early age. His mother was into aerobics and exercize, and even owned a fitness center for most of Roger's early life. Roger grew up as more or less a 'mama's boy', but at the same time he was hardly ever picked on (who's going to pick on a rat that could wind up punching your face off?) Eventually, Roger got a job as a body-guard for several celebrities, and eventually for the military.

Personality: Roger is the strong, silent type. He hardly ever pays attention to what's going on, even if you hit him in the head with a wrecking ball. He's actually more intelligent than he lets on, but hardly ever utilizes it. The two best ways to get his attention are to either talk directly to him, face to face, or by being in trouble. Otherwise, his body sometimes seems to respond without his help when something needs to be done (like following the person he's protecting).

Name: Allen Dolphin (One of the four main characters)
Species: Dolphin
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Degree: Psyonicist
Weapon Preference: Back-mounted Harpoon Launcher
Powers: Allen has the ability to manipulate objects and other peoples' minds just by concentrating on the task. Originally he didn't know that not everyone else had this ability.
Theme Music: Moderately-paced scary orchestra.

Appearance: Typical-looking gray dolphin with a short beard (almost like a goatee, but without the mustache).

History: There are two primitive animals that have not yet evolved to developed sentience in this universe; they are monkees and dolphins. Allen pretty much spent most of his time by himself in the ocean, opposed to many of his other dolphin peers who were always playing together. Allen knew he was more intelligent than the other dolphins, but never really knew better to know that he was sentient opposed to them. Allen later comes up with an assumption about where this gift comes from, and it becomes a major part of his character flaw. Allen's first contact with other sentient life didn't occur until a pirate ship came (which is where his story starts) and started trying to capture him and his peers.

Personality: Allen seems to believe that, because of rumors of a new deity being born, (I came up with this while I still had the religious war going as the plot) he is a god himself. This causes him to be slighty arrogant around others, to the point where he sometimes forgets whether or not people have psychic abilities similar to his (he doesn't have time to keep up with trivial matters like that). He also sometimes forgets that dolphins aren't supposed to be sentient, and will sometimes talk to others as their superior.

Side note: Allen becomes infatuated with Lynn Lythe who will be described later.

Name: Project Kamikaze!
Species: Android
Gender: Neuter
Age: 1
Degree: A walking bomb
Weapon Preference: Arm-mounted flamethrower
Powers: Kamikaze! has the ability to become the center of a huge explosion at will, or after falling unconscious. Afterwards she is repaired by her loyal repair droid petnamed "Decoy".
Theme Music: Fast-paced metal.

Appearance: Kamikaze! is supposed to look and act like a typical red female lizard, although she only got the look part down right. In-game she wears a gray tank-top and urban fatigue pants, though she's not as picky about her clothes as most of the other characters in this game. Her flamethrower is concealable in a compartment in her arm. And as a gimick, Kamikaze! is often seen with a stick of lit dynamite in her mouth representing her lack of fear of death and the hazards of smoking.

History: Originally, the Metropolis military used remote-controlled robots that looked like lizards in order to gather reconaissance information on the lizards' home planet (and also to self-destruct if ever compromised in order to simultaneously destroy evidence and witnesses). Unfortunately, interferance from space debris and other nuissances kept them from continuously maintaining control of these robots. So later, a scientist (who shall remain nameless because I haven't put the time into coming up with his name) came up with an AI that could adapt, learn, and gather recon for them all at the same time. The prototype, Project: Chameleon, was a failure, since it was programmed to act more as a spy than a mole. It was when they destroyed it that they realized just how expensive an endeavor just that prototype was. Since they didn't have the funding they needed to spend on building more of these AI-controlled androids en-mass, they instead came up with a means of keeping one mole active even after its destruction. It was later that Project: Kamikaze! was born.
Kamikaze! was originally supposed to take the roll of a military-goer with the name 'Camron Casey'. Inadvertently, however, while on the planet, she discovered that she was mechanical, and came to thoroughly enjoy the idea of being an exploding immortal. She later founded a cereal company in order to hold control over the children of the planet (up until now, though, she never used this control other than to make more money from her company). Her theme product, of course, was Kamikaze Krispies (with the slogan "they explode in your mouth").

Personality: Kamikaze! seems to believe she always has the advantage in any situation (and in a way she does). This, in turn, makes her mock everything that goes on around her with a careless, but hysterical laugh. She has no fear of death, whether or not she even survives it. In fact, death is such an incredibly humorous concept to her, that she also doesn't care who she takes down with her. She still knows, however, that she has a duty to the metropolis military; it's in her programming.

Name: Kaven Kronos (One of the four main characters)
Species: Rabbit?
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Degree: Chrono-mage
Weapon Preference: Crossbow
Powers: Kaven casts spells that alter time, as well as a few other air-based spells.
Theme Music: Moderate-paced flowing orchestra.

Appearance: A dark-gray bunny with yellow under-fur. Kaven often dresses simply in a white t-shirt and blue jeans with a black pilot jacket. He's average height for his age-group, and has a similarly average build.

History: I'll have to ask Kaven again what his history is, assuming I ever got it the first time.

Personality: Kaven is somewhat shy, though he sees himself as a hero. He has a low self-esteem, but a very high self-confidence. He hardly ever accomplishes goals set out for him, but when nothing is expected of him, he gives his all. Kaven is going to be a very complicated character, but in a way that will make his story probably the most intensive and emotional than the other three; thus, I couldn't pass up making him one of the main characters.

More bios when I become less lazy.

My story used to involve a large-scale religious war brewing between two rival planets, but then FF10 came out and I scrapped that idea.

And some more profiles:

Name: ? Crow
Species: Crow
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Degree: Sniper
Weapon Preference: Sniper Rifle
Powers: Crow uses weapons that are very likely to land a headshot. When a character is shot in the head, it can no longer move, and will be reduced to one hitpoint until cured (which can only be done at hospitals and inns).
Theme Music: Moderate-paced stealthy industrial.

Appearance: Average height and build for a crow, Crow wears nothing but sleeveless fatigues and modern battle armor. You'll usually find him with a camoflauge bandana on his head, as well.

History: Crow grew up playing modern military games, watching military movies, and in general, indirectly worshipping the military. He's learned the ins and outs and has decided that the ultimate best role in any battlefield is that of the sniper. Eventually, when he became old enough, the first thing he did was to join the Metropolis military (which is where Tauri, who will be described later, finds him).

Personality: Crow, taking his position too seriously, will not speak unless it's mission-critical to do so. At times he'll discontinue following his party-members in favor of finding a decent sniping position, or simply to stay out of open areas in general. To anyone social, Crow would seem extremely rude. To anyone in his command, however, he's a "top-notch killing machine."

Name: Samantha Streetlight
Species: Streetlight
Gender: Female
Age: Don't ask
Degree: Punster
Weapon Preference: A slew of one-liners
Powers: Samantha can brighten anyone's day who's open-minded and willing to laugh. For the most part, she'll be standing back, boosting the party's stats and morale and such.
Theme Music: Upbeat, light-hearted orchestra or dance

Appearance: Samantha looks like any other streetlight with the exception of her cute face. She has a white bulb for a head, pink lips, blue eyes, a green, metal pole and green, metal base.

History: In this crazy cartoon world, all one really has to do to make something real is to believe it is. Luckily for Samantha, her streetcorner had a bus-stop, and her bus-stop in particular is a popular location for people too drunk to drive home on their own. It's thanks to their dillusional ways that she eventually came into being. Over the years, alcohol policing has seen an increase, and sadly, Samantha's bus-stop sees less and less people every day. She took her alone time to catch up on the latest news from the newstand sitting next to her, up until a house was built on her corner. The bus-stop remains there, but her newstand is now gone. It didn't take her long to go a little looney and try to break the ice with a bit of humor to anyone who passed her by in hopes of engaging in conversation. After a few months of this unsuccessful venture, someone finally moved into the house on her corner. He didn't seem at all intimidated by her, and gladly spent time exchanging laughs with her while he waited for his bus. (We find out early in-game that this very someone is Bluez).

Personality: Samantha has a desire to make anyone she meets laugh at least once. She'll never say anything that can't be taken more than one way. Other than her sense of humor, Samantha is extremely knowledgeable due to her keeping up with newspaper material on a daily basis for the past several years.

Name: Michelle Mynx
Species: Kitty
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Degree: Artist
Weapon Preference: Paintbrush or pencil.
Powers: Michelle can conjure various useful items and situations simply by painting them into existence.
Theme Music: Cute Dance

Appearance: Michelle is a blue kitty, below average height, who wears anything fashionable as long as the top is red and the bottom is black (the color-coding isn't a Michelle thing, this is just something I do so everyone will recognize her more easily while at the same time giving her the opportunity to change her outfit, unlike most of the characters in this game).

History: Michelle has been an artist since she was very young. Her parents couldn't even stand to wash off the paintings she made on the house walls. A little later in life, Michelle's parents were divorced, which left her feeling that it was her own fault. At this point, all she had going for her was her art, and she wound up convincing herself that it's the only thing she can do right. She was later introduced to Tauri (described later) in elementary school, who introduced her to role-playing, taught her everything she needed to know about character conceptualization, and gave her a friend to talk to whenever she needed. Unfortunately, Tauri and Michelle had to eventually go their separate ways, although they maintain contact as often as possible. Michelle currently attends an art college with her boyfriend Bluez.

Personality: Michelle is extremely modest, feeling unworthy of the praise she recieves for her talents (though she feels that her talents are all she has going for her). She prefers being in a group to being alone, and is partial to team efforts in-party.

Name: "Mighty" Flea "The Satanic DJ"
Species: Flea
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Degree: Disc Jockey
Weapon Preference: Battle Axe
Powers: Flea has the ability to brood on the skin of furry people and animals. He is also capable of sucking the life out of others to heal himself. In addition, Flea has innate strength far beyond his body mass. On top of all of this, Flea mixes dance albums to better either kind of party.
Theme Music: Upbeat tribal DJ Dance

Appearance: To most people, Flea looks like a bouncing black dot with a cigar.

History: Not many people are partial to fleas, not even fleas themselves. It was this kind of stereotype that left Flea to become a loner. Being self-conscious about his size and incapable of lifting objects normal-sized people would have no trouble with, Flea took the innitiative to skip through body-building and just keep trying to lift a (huge to him) hand axe inside a backyard shed so that he could intimidate the local dog into allowing him to leech off of him. It took less time than one would think, but with Flea's determination, it took much longer than he was hoping for. Still, he was satisfied with the results, when the dog he lived around finally gave in to his demands. It was more symbiotic than the dog originally thought, though, since Flea had to fend off any threat to his host in order to keep his blood supply going constant. In his free time, Flea got bored with simply lazing around on a free bed and breakfast, so he eventually came to making a hobby of mixing music (the dog's owner was conveniently a Dance DJ). The dog was eventually killed by something not even Flea could put to a stop... a giant truck. Sighing to himself, Flea put his DJ talents to use by starting his own Dance club.

Personality: Flea can relate anything in life to his music, and vice-versa. He knows how unthreatening he seems to everyone else, but half-heartedly attempts to be intimidating nonetheless. Flea treats his fans like they're his best friend, and when talking with friends, he tries his best to be the life of the conversation despite his prior anti-socialism.
