This must be what it first looked like, because on the JJ2 screenshots section of the official JJ2 site, it has a screenshot of an electroblaster being shot.

This is what the blue gem first looked like. I think it looked cooler, don't you? :-p

Here's a good look at the red gems...

I have a copy this version. The Electro Blaster used to shoot a white blade, and the upgraded version shot a blue blade. Pepperspray used to fire a JJ1-like toaster, and upgraded it shot a purple one. They probably changed these because they were too much like the blaster.

It's an extremely rare demo version of jazz2, basically. I belive it was included as a free bonus to some video and sound cards as a promotional tool.

I'd rather call it a beta though.

Same here. The jungle set is kinda funky as well. And the tilesets are built into the levels.

Ditto. I don't like being left out on things like this.
Though, you still haven't told me what OEM means.

Hmm, i'm still wondering what went through the designers heads. When they decided to change the weapon into what it is today. It was a stupid idea, these original prototypes look 100 times better.

I hate proverbs, and never understood what they mean, so what does that mean?

Let's see if I can interpret Violet's quote right. "What you see in front of you isn't the whole thing, you need to look around it sometimes."

...no. More on the order of "We always want what we don't have, and what we have, we don't think much of."

"Grass is always greener on the other side of the tracks." Funny how so many people seem to get hit while crossing.

Stop, proverbs scare me! I have proverbaphobia! Just kidding, but really, what does that mean?

I means that no matter what you have, something else always looks better, even if it's just the same or even worse.

You know, you just made a warez request, right?
Trafton
May 14, 2003, 06:12 AM
The OEM version is not free. It came free with computer hardware. The idea behind that is that you are supposed to purchase the hardware to get the software along with it. OEM is not intended to be distributed alone. Thus, that is a warez request.

I will always wonder why the early versions of games like the OEM versions always look better than the final released version of the game.

We didn't buy the OEM, we bought the official release.

It certainly would be cool if someone converted the tilesets for our use, though . . . but it seems like there aren't too many people owning OEM. I remember there being some interesting differences and so forth.

Oh btw, if anyone'd like to see the Jungle OEM, I uploaded a screenshot of that. You can find it here.
And of course there are still these old (pre-OEM) Jazz2Warehouse screenies.

Not bad either, IMO. And I must say I really prefer this version of Diamondus above the current one.
Fawriel
May 15, 2003, 12:11 PM
Well, the Diamondus in that screeny is definitely a lot worse... but the other ones are pretty cool... especially that monkey. It seems to be hanging on the branch... o_o
Lark
May 15, 2003, 12:35 PM
That diamondus doesn't look good, but the jungle is cool, and the Hell one isn't as good.
