View Full Version : A problem

I've created a few levels. When I moved I saved them to disk, and then loaded them onto my new computer. I can play them on JJ2, but when I try to access them on JCS it says
"Jazz2 has created an error in KERNEL32.DLL If you continue to have problems please restart your computer"
Naturally I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing is working. If someone could help, I would be REALLY HAPPY!

Oh, and I'm looking for the music file that goes to one that I've lost, "pandemix.mod". If you know where to get it, tell me:(

Thanx.

Did you restart your computer, and reinstall JJ2, and make sure they are in J2L format and have their proper tilesets with them? (J2T)

You should first try to determine if the problem is with JCS or the levels. Do other levels work? Can you email the levels you made to someone else to see if they work?

They have their tilesets, and I can play them so I assume the problem is not with the levels. I just can't access them through JCS.
One or two other levels have this problem, I'm not sure why:( but I can play them all on JJ2.

How many copies of JJ2 do you have?

... Why does it matter?

Copper, can you open other levels with JCS?

Have you upgraded with the latest patch on your new computer? If the levels were created with JCS 1.23, you must have 1.23 to edit them. Tho I think you may still be able to play the levels in JJ2 1.21. I'm not sure.

I can indeed edit with JCS. Just not my levels.

Onag, interesting question. I'm not sure. I'll have to check ...

I think the patch is needed to open levels made with a patched JCS. Something to do with triggers, if I remember correctly. Before I patched JCS I wasn't able to open the Jungle levels, maybe it's related.

All right. Thanks.

The patched jcs.ini file (if thats what you mean) is not needed in most cases to open levels with events from the patched jcs.ini, they should normally just show up as Empty Tile or is it just Empty?

That is right, but everyone should get it anyway; trigger zones are useful.

I have had a very simular problem. It consists of old files being moved to a new computer and not opening on JSC but still working on the game itself, I have doupt that it is a version problem though, for it has plagued my family for years.

Would reinstalling Jazz2 help? It might be related to the fact jazz2 has not been installed (And stuff written into the registry) or a corrupt JCS.exe.

I see that there's a "resurrect ancient threads" campaign going on.
