You can change your tile type in a tileset, as you know. I know what normal is (duh!), and I know what translucent is (about 50% transparent / see-through). What is caption? I see it sometimes, and I can't figure out what's it's for. Please help me out :-p

It is the background of the title bar where it says "Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - Level Name."

Try using the "search" function next time.

What do you mean, Trafton?

When you are playing in an official level, there will be tiles behind the level name in the bar at the top of the window.

To add to KRSplat's sentence, you will see this if you play in windowed mode.

Aaaah. I don't play in windowed mode, I play in 640x480x16 direct draw.

Caption does nothing in full screen, of course.

I play in windowed mode all the time, so I can view other things on my computer. The only flaw in windowed mode is that the text messages may get cut off sometimes.

Eh. So that's how you do it. I just use DD normally because I get higher frame rates and it's full screen. ;)

Me, too, I can see better, and I use the <ALT> key to jump, which is unusual, but all those years of using <ALT> to jump in Commander Keen had to lead somewhere. I use <CTRL> to shoot, <ALT> to jump, <SHIFT> to run, and <ENTER> to change weapons. Sometimes if I'm not in a "social" mood, I'll put on <CAPSLOCK> to run. Why am I typing the key names in <FORMAT>? Because I am very bored at around 9:30 PM EST. Why? I don't know.

Careful, Labrat, if you put things in < > they're invisible.

INteresting, I didn't know this. Not too useful, but interesting none the less. Oh, and to let you guys know, window mode is where you can get faster FPS. Full Screen's max is 60FPS, and Window mode's max is 70FPS. I usually play in windowed because of habit.
60 FPS is more or less impossible to distinguish from 70 FPS. Really, neither is any slower than the other by enough of a margin to make any difference in most situations.

I find that in full screen mode the game goes faster, however I usually get less fps..or was that on my dad's laptop? I don't remember. Anyways, it is like this with another game I play excepting that it freezes all the time.

It's actually pretty simple to understand. It's just like how you go right click on the desktop and go to properties-appearence-Item: Active/Inactive Title Bar and you choose a color, if after Win 95 then 2 colors. So now whenever you run a level with a tileset with tiles under caption. A mixture of those tiles that have been captioned will be the design on the Active/Inactive title bar only for Jazz 2. And as everyone has said, this can only be seen in windowed mode.
