Off hand, I'd call it a medium-quality, sorta synthy wind instrument sample, probably somewhere around a clarinet in terms of pitch.

Radium, where did you get this information, for a .mid file or something? If you did, where can I get it =P I have the songs in .s3m format, but it's interesting hearing them redone in .mid format.

All modules have lists of instruments and samples within them. Just go look at those.
