Before I start blabbering, the image is <a href="http://www.jazz2online.com/spiffyjuice/pikz/moriquendi2.jpg" target="_new">here</a>.

I decided around 11 pm tonight that I was going to force myself to make a picture. I began playing around with some stuff, and set my mp3 player to random. Sooner or later, the song "Her Ghost In the Fog" by Cradle of Filth came on, and from that point on I began making the wallpaper image I am calling Moriquendi2 as a sequal to the last thing I made.

It is basically three DeviantArt stock photos that I modified quite a lot. It's basically a showcasing of Paint Shop Pro's smudge tool. I sort of outlined general objects in the photographs and then began going crazy and making whatever I wanted it to look like. The result is a kind of creepy scene, but I really am proud of this picture.

As always, comments and critiques are appreciated.

Heh... yep, that's quite a bit of smudge-fu being applied. :-) It does look creepy, like a sort of surreal foresty thing. The oddly-bent branches (Are we to assume you smudged them to make them like that?) really add to it.

What're the source images you made this from? Like, can we see how heavily you went all smudgey over it?

Whee argh!
Nice work, man!
Looks like a haunted forest from a REALLY bad nightmare...
Darn good job on the foresty stuff. Thumbs up!

But, the person-lady-fairy-pixy-thingy..... well, she does look sorta unnatural the way she's put together.....

Smudgetastic ;p. Her left arm is too long though.

Does she have legs?

Yeah, her left arm is kind of messed up. A casualty in the smudge fest I guess =P

And no, she's not supposed to have legs...when you have wings, you don't need legs =P. Actually that's just a result of the photo I used, which was from about the thigh up, but I think it looks cool the way it is.

It's all supposed to look sort of creepy and surreal so deformaties are okay with me (mwah I can mess up all I want).

Anyway maybe tonight I'll post the images I used to make the picture so anyone could make a comparison.

Aha, I see now. Now it makes more sense. Now the end product looks a lot more surreal. Excellent.

Usually I'm against the smearing, finger-painting, and smudge effects, but I have to admit, Spazout. This is some sic stuff. One and a half thumbs up. ;)

That's awesomocular, Spaztic. I love the way you drew it with the fine brush to make the sort of...I don't know, melting feeling.
