Project *that* is a project Ice M A N has been working on. And I've been busy helping him a little by making stupid remarks. Asking stupid questions, and other stupid things you would expect from me.

We won't give any further project details at this moment.

What I meant was the actual ability to edit stuff. Windows to choose events and suchlike. Still, the format decoding may well be the harder than any window construction, so I'll shut up.

OH MY GOD THAT LOOKS SO FAKE.

First of all: Why is the text in the clouds so crisp while everything else on the screen is blurry?

Secondly: Look by the turtle on the tree's arm. The plant is not only in black and white, also a small portion of the turtle's arm is in black and white.

Thirdly: Why does the BG mountain's edges a light green? It's supposed to be in B&W, right?

Fourthly: That entire cloud with the text looks fake. It looks nothing like the other cloud in the picture.

Lastly: You showed us that you can edit the levels in your "editor" but how did you change the TS itself? You never talked about that.

Please, if you're going to try and pass an edited screenshot past me, you are going to have to try a heck of a lot harder to clean up the picture and your paper trail.

Final Verdict: Hoax, Fake, and will soon become an Urban Legend.

First of all: Everything in that screenie has the same ammount of "crisp", as you call it. You're just seeing things that aren't there.

Secondly: That's the plant, not the turtle.

Thirdly: They are not green.

Fourthly: There is no other cloud in the picture. That's the sun, with a part of the turtle's foot.

Lastly: I edited the tileset using PSP7. Ice M A N knows all about the compression.

Final Verdict: You're seeing things that just are not the Or are trying too hard, to make a point. We might release that level ediit sometime soon. But I think you can just as well just believe what we say.

1) No, compare Jazz to the cloud I am referring to. Jazz is VERY blurry.
2) That is the turtle.
3) okay I can not argue with that.
4) No, that is a cloud. The other part is too large to be on the turtle.
5) I cannot argue with that too.
6) No, I'm pointing out everything you don't want us to see.

And also, I noticed this: Look at Jazz's left foot. Two points here: WHY IS HIS FOOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TILE? I mean, okay it should be a little in for depth reasons, but THAT FAR? Another thing: He is animated like he's going to fall off, but he is NO WHERE NEAR THE EDGE OF THE TILES!

Final Verdict: I am seeing through the wool they are pulling over my eyes. I can see that this is a hoax even though they deny it over and over and I can bet that this will never come out.

Ice M A N
Jun 30, 2003, 05:04 PM
If we released the BLOCKS.000 file which produces that tileset, would you shaddup? (Note that it is not perfect. As it is greyscale, the animations do not work correctly (they are all stationary/static), nor does foreground scenary work(you do go behind it, but you can see the bounding box of the sprites via a dithered pixel effect)

I have played JJ1, and It is very pixelated. Though if you do shrink it down you should get a crisp image. And also:

Jazz's foot does NOT go into the ground like that. I know, I've stood there and it does go in a little, but not *that* far.

Another flaw here is your inability to keep a story straight. First you say that it's the sun and the foot. Then you say it's the sun and another cloud. STICK WITH YOUR STORY OR ADMIT DEFEAT!

This is such a Hoax, yet everybody is so (This part of the message is brought to you by Derby brand Admin Wands. Buy yours today!) that they can't see this is nothing but a prank, hoax, and a joke. I can not believe everybody is falling for it.

Okay, you proved that you can change the colors. You proved that you can edit the tiles themselves.

But did you prove that Project *that* is real? Nope. This could have been done with just about any program. In fact...

PSP can open up RAW file formats...formats like .000. They don't have to be real picutres, they can be music (I know, I've opened the eradicator music with PSP). So this could have been laid out already and you just edit it with PSP.

So in the end, you did prove that the picture was real, yet Project *that* is fake.

Who said I lost?

They still haven't given any solid proof that Project *that* is real. This is all just them saying "Project *that* is real" and a few screenshots that show nothing of the actual program itself...

I just thought of that: what if they just hacked a picture of JCS and cropped it. I have not seen a true interface for Project *that* at all yet.

Once that gets shown it will be all revealed...and I will be proven wrong.

(like they will ever prove me wrong. Any good secretive person would never show the entire thing. This is just a joke and a hoax.)

Which we *could*, although it'd be quite hard. Heck.. we could change it in PSP as he suggested. (I'm not even kidding. I could write a program to tell me which byte to change to change to which "colour" so that the ground could be a different tile or something. Anything more than that would be insane in PSP/hex editor. Well.. more insane.)

Disclaimer: I actually started this about two years ago. Back then about the only thing I could make out was the purple mushroom, and that was messed up. Project *that* took me back to it, and (frustratingly) I managed to get this just by changing a few numbers. so when I say this took a few days, bear in mind that these days were spread out over several years.

Xion, I cannot begin to explain how terribly you have made all your points, and how flawed your reasoning is. While it is very easy to simply argue something and debate it like a reasonably informed person, you seem insistant on constantly getting your facts wrong and contradicting yourself. It seems as if you are either trying too hard, or just faking it, which is what I think is the case. You also decided to bring up the concept of the first amendment of the United States Constitution while speaking directly to someone who isn't an American. Even if he knew what the first amendment, he did not challange your right to free speech. He did not ask you to stop expressing yourself. He asked you to bring your comments somewhere else where it would be more relevant and effecient, like a private conversation.

I think Xion's disbelief of this project is a hoax.

Like I said before: I am proven wrong that the tilesets can be changed, however I have not been proven wrong that Project *that* is a hoax.

@Mike: I'm just looking at it and seeing many ways how this is fake. For instance: Shouldn't all of these editors have some kind of interface, specifically for the tilesets to change the level? As soon as I see a screenshot that has the interface (i.e. a full 640x480, 800x600, etc. screenshot of the program) I will believe.

Untill then, Project *that* is nothing but a hoax to me.

If I see a full-screen screenie of it and all it's features, I'll believe.

And as link said, they would not do that so I still have doubt.

Making JJ1 conversions from the Blocks images is about as bad as editing those things that come with JJ2. You don't have any tiles with mountains behind them, there's no background included, and none of the animations are there. Not to mention the tile placement could be better.
Stick with Backspace+F2, it gets better results. (Print screen? err?)

Am I the only one Getanims.exe doesn't work for? It keeps saying it can't create Getanims.exe.txt.

The program can be updated easily to do all this.. the background mountain stuff is just a single colour (black?) drawn where transparent is.. that'll take all of a minute to code. Background would be no problem.. well.. actually it may if there ARE different styles for the background.. the animations are palette based, so those can be done programatically as well, but would take a bit longer since I don't know the ranges of the palette which changes (thought I do know how they change)... so.. all in all I <i>could</i> do it tomorrow. ;p

As for placement.. yeah.. I'd agree. But that's how nick had it, and cliffy used...

And I haven't played around with Getanims.exe, but shouldn't that txt file be in the current working directory (and be opened instead of created then..)?

Yes, it exists, and shows what I presume are the animations for Level0.000. It gives me an error whenever I try to get it to show a different level's animations.

This presumtion is incorrect. That file contains references for ALL animations and is NOT meant to be overwritten. Pick a new txt file... It's only a few Kb. ;p
