So it seems most of you think that i am the renamer / attacker / whatever bad guy you want me to be. I want to know how many people really think its me, and how many are not. Please vote, dont leave me hanging, no, i will not kill you if you vote against me. Just curious, thats all. if you ahve any comments, you can post those too [obviously].
Hare: No, i didnt even see that hunh stuff =P, i had a life and was too busy trying to..eat pizza..with an appliance in my mouth..anyway, im talking about the topic which Spat started about packet editors. My name mentioned at least 9 times in it

I honestly don't suspect anyone at the moment.
Are you talking about the thing where the web page was redirected to a different URL where the JCF text was replaced with a bunch of 'huh's?
I'd suspect Mr. Higsby from Mega Man Battle Network, if anyone
Annoying, but all I had to do was press the stop button whenever it tried to re-direct. (I don't have broadband, so I had plenty of time to press it before it switched.)

I have no idea who is doing it, but I am pretty sure it is more than one person. Frankly, I don't really care.

What KR said, it's probably more than 1 person.
Depends on what you mean, I have seen you rename people and do stuff like that, but I'm sure that there are more people who do it more constanstly and for more vile deeds.

Renamer? I'm not sure you did it to me, and admitted it, but then again it happend more times to me and you said that it wasnt you and i believe/d you.
Attacker? I dont think so.. but I'm sure that you have the skills to do it.
Lab: Ovelord and Link are also pretty good in this. (i think.)

I think someone else has used his (or someone else's) packet editor to reanme.
Also ths "HuH" stuff was done by "Mad genius Ka-Ping Yee", see THIS (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=malcovich+hack) the "bar above all hacked pages said so too.
Ovelord and Link are also pretty good in this. (i think.)
Yea. I can rename too but I'm not doing it. I'm still learning packet editing/sending actually. I can send but not edit. Spazzyman showed me how easy it is to use winsock in visual basic so I got inspired (I switched to networking/packet editing from that complex programming). As you can see the first thing I did was help Spazzyman develop some new functions (like joining private servers) for his multiplayer launcher, JazzForce. He wouldn't have done it without me. Or am I wrong, Spazzyman?
EDIT: By the way I was on vacation for the past 3 weeks.

I'm working on a quick little program that can detect this sort of mischief. It will basically monitor for join packets to clients already in the server. When one of those packets is detected, it will notify the server and display the IP address of the offender. It will also save a log to disk in a special binary format (to prevent falsely blaming people). Unfortunately I won't be able to make a program to block the packets, because the capture driver I use cannot do that. But at least we might get some idea of who is actually doing this and if it is just one person or multiple people.
This should be done very soon because I have most of the code already written in another program. I think it is badly needed too, because multiple people are being blamed without a whole lot of proof or evidence.

@ Lab Rat Kid: There are many people on the JCF that is capable\can be capable of doing that.
@Link: Big, big thanks. Your program will allow us to finally catch these hacker wannabes and have proof.

The problem is that identifying them won't stop them. (And that if they have dial-up they can just change their IP.)

Splat, you can always just ban their mask, i think :P
Recently I have been hosting a private server and having a conversation with spazzyman about this renaming stuff because almost everybody is blaming him when suddenly someone started joining and leaving my server. I couldn't see his name (actually there was no name) because he was joining and leaving so fast that the name was not displayed at all. He also made my server ping forever. Spazzyman was in the server but after timing out he was unable to rejoin. I had to restart jj2 and the server. Later on he kept joining/leaving so I was able to get his IP. I immediately noticed that there's actually a server running using that IP. So I joined the server, asked what the heck is going on and the server claimed he is the renamer. I got his name and IP if anyone interested: 80.201.180.197 - "Ghostface OT" And no. It was not Spazzyman because he was with me in my private server and later in the renamer's server.
The renamer was probably just faking but if so how did he do the joining/leaving process (believed to be a DOS atttack)?
Spazzyman also gave me the hostname: 197.180-201-80.adsl.skynet.be
EDIT: Later I hosted a private server again and this guy kept joining/leaving again. He may have changed his IP but the hostname is still the same: 168.189-136-217.adsl.skynet.be
Here's a screenshot:

Stiletto gave me that reverse lookup hostname, it wasnt me. I just told it to overlord.
I asked ghostface if he had a dynamic IP, he said, yes he did. I asked him what internet connection he had. He says that he doesnt know. My question is, how does a person without knowledge of their internet connection, know what their IP is? The way i worded my words were, "If you have a dynamic IP, you might not be the person." AFter i said that, he said he had a dynamic IP. Its obvious he's trying to cover something up.
Edit:
Apparently this person does have a dynamic IP. New IP: , but the hostname is 168.189-136-217.adsl.skynet.be, and he / she has again attacked Overlord's server. I guess ADSL does dial up.
2nd Edit:

Thnx to faw or whoever showed me this site.
as you can see in the photos, I am hosting one of my CTF levels with BN, Spazzy and some other people. Those 3 people named Haxor are ghost bots, they don't chat, dont move, you just see them in the player list. If you try kicking/banning them your jj2 will automatically crash. You cant get their IP either. Spazzyman here is blaming BN because he says BN was the hacker/renamer/whatever and he is using a program that overlord gave him, or so spazzy says. The Blurred out crap is spazzy swearing.
Edit:SDSDSFDGFg screenie 1 wont work, crud. I'll try fixing link. I had to reduce quality of screenshots because the site wont let me upload anything higher than 120 000 bytes (sux).
Edit 2: Barney Ninja is BN's name. I am player 1, I have been renamed to an IP adress, my character changed to jazz, and my color changed to an ugly yellow. My team is also changed to red. Spazzyman, Dark one, and 3 Haxor bots are also seen in the server.

Hey, i just remembered, there was a King Idle in my server with an unknown network right before fooville last night. After joining The Fooville pregame i saw a King Idle in it too. I told spay to stealth kick it because i *knew* it was an unknown network because it was in my server too. Funnily enough, BN was on at that time.
Im starting to think its lots of people put together. Ive seen BN do it, Ive seen myself do it, and this freakin mysterious other person with taht ip i mention about. I think just it all together makes one huge mess giving an illusion that one person is behind it to some, like it did to me. Its just a fad, apparently...or so it seems.

He told me he used WPE, Ethereal, and his C/C++ skills. His name was Trinton320 and I have his IP. 68.48.145.25 . He also mentioned something about an IP spoofer and that I should look into learning about it (I'm not sure what it does, but it may have gave me a false IP). He lives on the East coast of the US so you can tell which times he will most likely be on.
THAT BAG OF SUX =(
thats MY ip, and i live on east coast :-*(
I have cable so it never changes unless i change to dialup
hes a bag of sux. Anyway, i dont know c/c++ at all. dunno how to spoof ips (although i have tried, but failed). Never met him. Unless he has a different name. bag of sux.
and cyberarmy sounds like a noob name.

There.
Here's something else I noticed today. I joined a jj2 server more early today when someone first joined a server under the name Domo (he is player #2) and he started to cheat using ears to fly all around the level with JJNOWALL on. Guess what happened next. Suddenly lots of nonames started to appear in the player list, someone edited the server count (it was 10 before but now it's 60) and some player score also got edited. But that's not all! As you can see the "Domo" guy was able to make theWINNER say stuff he didn't (probably packet <strike>editing</strike> sending again). I'm telling you there are multiple people who can do it!
Sorry but this is the only screenshot (http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://www.geocities.com/atlastsome/domo.gif) I got.
I'm gonna report more of this as soon as I see it.

Lama, I meant that even if we could contact them we could ask them to stop but that doesn't mean that they would. Packet blocking would stop the problem but contacting them and telling them to stop would not. My post did not incorporate packet blocking in any way.
<s>I can tell theWINNER didn't say that because his grammar isn't that good.</s>

Nah, Once I hosted a server and Cliffy B, Noogy, Arjan Brusse, Cliffy C (?), Cliffy D (O.o), Big Arjan (o) Dean Dodrill, Alex Brandon, and some others joined my server. Some of them, like one of the Cliffy's and Big Arjan, where just people pretending (one of the cliffys was BN, because I can tell from the fur color and how he acts, and Big Arjan was spoy, because of Spoy's devious : P smiley, and also the fur). They were just some people pretending to be famous jj2 people, and they did nothing except talk in caps and stuff.

Spazzy, I know U have the program that can rename other clients in the server. I know U got alot of other stuff, like when U get a bot in the server and when U try to kick it your JJ2 window closes. Though U got the rename program, I still dont think you are then one who is doing this YET :P I vote no.
If I recall correctly I believe I saw Spazzyman doing that once (Not implying that is was him, just saying that it is packet sending). He said a few things for the server. And there is atleast one good thing, when they say ban# or kick# it won't ban or kick anyone.
I doubt it. Spazzyman usually doesn't come online that "early".
