Hey, I just found out about this site via GOOGLE and had some
questions and was hoping you could answer some for me.
I'm interested in getting new levels, as I love this game like
crazy, so I click on the Downloads link and notice a long, long
list of levels.
So, first questions are:
What does TSF mean?
What does TIP mean?
They are listed in read next to the names of the levels.
Next, is there any way to download a bunch of levels in a single
file, or do I need to scroll through all 41 pages of level
listings?
Is there any kind of "Recommended Levels" list to help filter out
ones that are not up to par?
I am a HUGE fan of Jazz 2 and would really like to prolong the
game with new levels.
I own the full version of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 on CD and have it
patched to 1.23.
Thanks very much.

TSF means The Secret Files.
Every level above 8.0 gets "TIP" next to it.. its like a recomedation to download it.

TSF = The Secret Files and it refers to the 1.24 version of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 so if you have version 1.23 you should not download any of these. And try listing the downloads according to their rating. You'll get a list of the best downloads.

What does TSF mean?
TSF levels can only be played by 1.24, The Secret Files. This usually means they use an extra large tileset, the TSF enemies, or are made by someone without 1.23.
What does TIP mean?
All levels which have 8 out of 10 or better as their average rating are marked with a TIP, in case you're just looking at the names are not the ratings.

file, or do I need to scroll through all 41 pages of level

Different uploads have different numbers of levels. For example, BlurredD's new SP demo comes with six levels, while many uploads have only one.
Is there any kind of "Recommended Levels" list to help filter out
ones that are not up to par?
Set the "Sorted by" dropdown box to "Rating", and click the Go button.

Thanks for the detailed answer - I do appreciate it.
What is the SP Demo thing about? Aren't all the levels on this site free?
Thanks

I'd have thought paging the results would be easier :P
All the levels are free, though Jazz Unleashed is unfinished right now.

How come that SP Demo is called a demo then, if it is free?
When I think of Demo, I think of like the shareware thing where you play one level and have to buy the rest.
Thanks

Because the people who made the level pack haven't finished it yet, but they posted it online to give people a taste of what the final version will be like. Kind of an alpha release.

No.
Shareware = Software you can share.
Demo = Software that demonstrates.

1) TSF = The Secret Files
2) TIP is put by high-ranked levels.
3) None at all, unless they are combined in one large pack.
4) Sort by Rating.
5) Great! Get a J2o account, and upload your levels!
6) Excellent! 1.23 is a great version. 1.24 is, however somewhat lackluster.
If you want a reccomendation, I'd reccomend getting the Queen of BoarD series. Good fun. Also, get anything by Mystic Legends.
If you find a "Hotel" please listen to the host for rules and don't be afraid to ask questions. People will answer all queries you may have. (God, I've been waiting to use "Query" in normal conversation that doesn't involve IRC.)
CTF is the "favorite" gametype of JJ2. Though if you ask me, there is no such thing as a "Good CTF Level" no matter how many people like it. People in this community are biased.<Like bobby, blackraptor, blurred, and a few others.>
&@Taffy: Demos and Shareware are the same thing...most of the time.

Most demos are sharware. However, it is not necessarily the same in reverse.

Before you ask, you can not post an edited version of Battle1 on J2O.

I do wish there were some bundles that differentiated between multiplayer levels and single.
I set the filter to download only Single Player levels, found about 81 of them, installed them and now am finding that some are actually Capture the Flag or Race levels with no enemies, etc.
I guess it is time to roll up the sleeves and make a list of my own that are really just single-player levels that play like normal. :)
Still, I'm very grateful for the new levels.

Edit: You can't post an edited version of any official level that came with the game with asking on J2O. Nor same goes with anyones work already on the site, you must ask that person first for permission then give him credit.

I just gave battle1 as an example, since that is one of the most edited official levels.
