Ooh wow, a bug. This is hardly anything exciting, but it's something I think I just found. My theory is that JJ2 (any version) will fail to start on a machine that has been running for more than 7 weeks. This seems somewhat possible since the largest value an unsigned int (32 bits) can store is 4294967295. This number interpreted as milliseconds would translate into about 7.101467 weeks. The motivation behind this theory of mine is because Jazz2 crashes with an Integer overflow exception on startup, and my computer has been up for about 7 weeks, 3 days, and 14 hours. Or it's possible that this has nothing to do with Jazz2 crashing, but I don't want to restart my computer now.

Thank you, that is all.

To be honest you may be right, on my dedicated server I have jj2 installed (to host servers) and it had a uptime of about around 7 weeks i think, maybe 8, but jj2 wouldnt launch anymore, but a simple restart fixed it.

It could be the same thing as what your saying, but it might not be, could just be windows getting instable for being on for so long. :)

You've worked this out, but why would Jazz2 care how long your computer has been turned on?

Maybe I'm wrong. again.

Moreover, why would you have a computer on for seven weeks straight?

I'm not sure what Jazz2 uses for timing, but it must use something, and the common thing games use for timing is the number of milliseconds since the computer was started. Now, I've tried other games and programs of mine, and they all seem to work fine, so I'm not sure what they did with Jazz2 to make it crash.

The reason I've left my computer on for this long is because I run a few internet services. Besides, it's cool. :P

You computer must have a 1337 cooling system then, if you plan on running for 7 weeks.

Why the moose would you want your computer on so long, anyway? Usually, after a while, computers start running slower if they've been on longer, and they overheat.

Are you kidding? Lith is the legendary Idle Server! This is suggesting a return of Battle Server!
