View Full Version : Open Canvas Art

I just whipped this up with Open Canvas. :)

http://purrhead.thj.no/Full_Color/depressed_vixen.jpg

The program is freeware if anyone is interested. It is also capable of online multi-user mode, where multiple artists draw on the same page over the net. I've had my tablet for a while, but this program is the only one that really gives me reason to use it much.

Here's one I just made.

http://purrhead.thj.no/Full_Color/vamos_a_la_playa.jpg

I haven't done enough color images lately. And no groveling at my feet. :P LOL

I made this image in one sitting. Earlier, I had to take days to color something like this, but I find it much easier with Open Canvas. GIMP is not compatable with my tablet anyways.

I wish I was against Open Canvas so I had something to complain about. Could you possibly name any way that it might be (a.) conning you out of money, (b.) eating your soul, or (d.) hiding things from you?

And I agree with Blaze.

Erm, yeah.

And I agree with Blaze. Erm, Moony.

Uhm. Well, Open Canvas is easy to color with, so I'll be doing more colored art. So I don't see how that would be evil... But then again, they could have made it easy to color with because they want me distracted while the program hides my games folder, eats my soul, and steals my credit card numbers... which I don't really have, making it all the more mysterious.

The program in its latest version is no longer freeware, and whoever makes it no longer hosts the free version on their site annymore... but that doesn't mean others can't host the freeware version instead ^_^

Drawing with others is the most fun when one of those people is partially or completely insane.

So did you find a CD-key, hare, or are you not using the trial version..?

..and what version should I download, and if you could, can you give me a direct link to it?

trial version? CD key? You must have went to the official site. They don't support the freeware version any more, so they don't have it.

The direct link to the program is here:

Nice pictures, by the way. Except the tail on the third one looks more like a log or something than anything else.

Hey, I don't illegally share files.
I never said you did. The sentence started with "if", referring to that mythical world where stuff isn't generally good.
And I would challenge you to a non-file sharing duel to the death!
BIRNG IT ON! *doesn't share files* *doesn't share files* *still isn't sharing files*

And about the images, I agree with you about the body structure on the last one.

Practice with facial shapes...

I watched The Lion King and it woke me up from my artistic sloppiness. So I got on track with trying to draw things accurately again.

She said she cried while watching the Lion King, not "The Lion King scarred me for life". heh.

A friend did a fan picture that reminded me that I used to draw Toca with a super touch of cuteness. I like my newest version, but I still like the cuter version too. So I tried to draw the cuteness once again...

I guess I still got it :D

Once again, some changes in how I draw were inspired by Disney art...

Or maybe Xion was right, and Copper is acting more like me... of course, both you and Xion acted like me for a while too. Maybe everyone here goes through a "Radium Phase". Or maybe it's it's an infectious disease you can only catch once like the chicken pox...

Movies are made to evoke emotional responses from the viewer. At least good movies do anyway. If you don't have any sort of emotional response to a movie (or the wrong responses), then either (a) the movie genuinely sucked, (b) the movie wasn't targeted for you, or (c) your emotional responses are messed up. (If you think it might be (c), don't worry; usually it's just not targeted to you.) This goes for any sort of art as well -- not just movies.

Oh, and cool drawings Hare.

Hiya!

I'm using a Pocket PC... I did write up a message... until I clicked the wrong part of the screen and lost it. Yay for new and buggy technology powered by Windows! This OS is so incomplete, it is worse than JJ2 when Epic thought up Unreal.

Anyways thanks for the comments all.

I've got company over ( company using my desktop= me using the iPAQ). Will write later.

Well, the other images of Toca are Toca, too. Just this is the youth version again. I like the wiskers. I'm kind of surprised that they end up looking kind of like frekkles in that pic. Since it is the youth version, then they fit right in with the look of the character. I put some extra depth and form in the shape of the face. I'm going to try to work this new discovery I've found, into future art.

Family has left, so I have access to the big PC again... But it kind of stinks because it was really fun to have some loved ones over to play around with PC games and other technological junk. I was trying to get my pocket PC to work right as a VCR remote. The stupid company gives the Remote Controll program all the features you need... But it doesn't have a freakin' button to switch the video mode so I could make the video mode switch to the AV jacks so we could play a game... No video mode button... Man, what age in history do they live in? (Going to their site to download the extra functionality was met with technical difficulties and files that couldn't be found). Fun stuff until I decided to try to get the Game Cube to work. That last part was just a waste of cool family time.
