Oke here is my problem, I have recently recieved Jazz Jackrabbit 2 1.22 and everything seemed fine, until I was checking a level I have been working on for bugs and the music was not playing. At first i thought nothing of it, but then when I played some other levels they had no music too. The levels were custom so they had music files such as .it .s3m and .mod (etc.) But when I opened a default level, I heard music because it was .j2b . So I downloaded the patch from Haze's Hideout for 1.21, 1.22 and 1.23. After installing the patch I tried again, but still no custom music. Every time I heard no music I made sure it was unmuted and on high volume. So I am wondering what the problem could be and what is the solution.

I had that before, it just kinda solved itself though.

Same here. A long time ago though, so I can't remember nearly anything about it.

Perhaps downloading the patch solves this?

Try getting the 1.23 patch.

Read his post. He says he did that, but it didn't work.

*nods* So you've installed the v1.23 patch, right? *just checking*

Remember to include the file-extension in your level properties dialog. For standard files, such as *.j2l and *.j2b this isn't necessary. Yet for custom files this is mandatory, so include *.s3m, *.mod, whatever. ;)
And if you've also done that, and things still don't work, keep in mind that the music engine used by JJ2 isn't the greatest out there. Some files it just won't play.

Anyways, you could also give a link to the music file so that others may check it out for you.

Cheers!

I have the same problem with custom .j2b files. I run Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - The Secret Files under Windows XP. When I ran it under Windows 98 there were no problems the music.

When I used to use the Mac version (I have a PC now) I could barley get any custom music to work!
