EDIT: Back in the Day, keyboards didn't come with numpads: you either didn't use them or purchased them seperately (you can still find them seperate at stories like Office Depot, in fact.) And it is supposed to symbolize any keyboard, anyway, not what it is used on. For that matter, do you see any laptop screen attached? ;-P

I had no idea you used a laptop to play jj2.What an absurd notion. He uses an image file to play jj2.

Derby: Content removal. The word you used is too often used in inappropriate context.

RoW_Odin, I think he's implying that he uses a keyboard. I don't know where in God's name you got the idea that an image of a keyboard is a laptop. I use a keyboard, but I have a Saitek controller that I use sometimes.

Oh, and I use the keyboard. I used to use a gamepad though...it didn't have enough buttons to be able to run, shoot, and jump though. D=

The keyboard is from a laptop. How can you tell? It looks like a normal keyboard to me, besides missing a numpad.

Only laptop keyboards have the little blue button thing.

Me? I like keyboard. I used to use a wireless joypad, but keyboards allow me to have my fingers on more buttons at once. I really don't like joysticks because they take too long to move from left to right. If I ever feel insane, I'll play using my steering wheel.

That's never worked too well for me. I could turn it all the way to the end and Jazz would still only move a little bit.

Keyboard!

Saitek P2500 Rumble... not that the rumble does any good. I can do everything I need at once and comfortably... and the cross pad is MUCH better than anything I've tried from Gravis. Back in the day, I did play Jazz 1 on a 4-button Gravis pad though.

Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog. It has 12 buttons. Did you know that button 9 pauses? Of course, there's no way to instantly skip to a weapon nor any way to chat without putting the thing down and reaching for the keyboard.

Still got my original gravis gamepad. I don't really think it's very good. You can use it upside-down, though, so it's not all bad.

I have a Gravis Precision gamepad. It allows you to cheat, you can use fastfire without having fastfire pickups. I never use it though

I have three Gravis gamepads that don't work with my newer computers somewhere around the house. I think only one of them works, period, though. I've had about 5 Gravid Gamepads in my time. The sticks on them always used to fall off.

i have a gravis game pad with z axis and throttle axis too, it has a fastfire button.
unfortunatly it crashed in the time i COULD play jazz. now i cant play jazz, but it the gamepad works now. the most funny was when i broke the pad controller on a rude and insane wild game of jazz. it just brok like that so it isnt all that good. eventually my dad fixed my pad but whateva i mostly use keyboard for precission and chat and gamepad for fastfire.

Wow. All these responses!

Anyways, the great thing about my gamepad is that it came with sorfware, so that now I can program a button for 'chat', a button for selecting seekers, etc. It has two sholder button, which I use for running.

And button 9 pauses because button 9 on the sidewinder is marked 'Start'. Pretty nolgastic, huh? ;P

I use a keyboard. :) Its perfect.

And in 3d games, I'll use a keyboard + a microsoft intellimouse 2 optical or something or rather (5 buttons + scroll wheel). The best of all mice :D.

I tried using keyboard + voice before, but my voice recognition always wants to add a blasted space after everything I say, so JJ2 won't recognise a number with a space after it. Same with the "t" key. So if I do use voice recognition, I'd still have to type "t" to talk before I can speak a message for the computer to type out. It was a nice idea though. :P

Try recalibrating it. (The voice-recogition) If you talk to slow, it might register every letter as a sepreate word.

I had (still have, in fact) a gamepad with automatic "fast" fire buttons. It was really erratic, though. Most of the time it was quicker just to hit the fire button repeatedly.

Keyboard always, but for some reason on mine I can't run jump and shoot at the same time, it won't recognize that all the keys are pressed down... best key combination: z=run x=jump c=shoot ctrl(left and right)=change weapon

Keyboard of course. My gamepads are bad.

If I use a gamepad I lose. It is a law of nature.

I use a Gravis USB gamepad. The one that rather resembles a combination between a SNES and PS controller. I am now dependent on it.

i useD to use the original jj gravis gamepad, it blewop when playing online some day, the direction button thing broke off and the fire button doesn't work anymore... got a usb gamepad now, but win98 doesn;t recognise it as a game controller, win2000 does... and router prevents jazz anyway. i dont play it all to often, sometimes i play episodes, and i still build lvl's but never finish them.. so count be as keyboard since my gamepads never work....

I actually use a Keyboard to play JJ2..used to play JJ2 with a Gravis Gamepad Pro(I think that's what it was called. =P) gamepad on a 98., but now that game pad refuses to work on my XP comp, although I still prefer using the keyboard for some reason, but I find controlling jj2 easier using z for jump and x for shoot and c for run and enter for change weapons.
