I was always under the impression J2O alone had more than 2000 levels.
...are you Anti-Lori or something?

Jan 17, 2004, 12:48 AM
Why did you upload the official levels?
There isn't really much point in making another general JJ2 website.
J2O sort of dominates that catagory.
Nice design anyway.

Darker
Jan 17, 2004, 08:24 AM
actually, now that you mension it...
I was going to put up all the jj1 games and jj1 itself, all jj2 demos and maybe jj2 itself with a legal agree note, some hacks for online play and jcs crackers, jj2 1.23 to tsf .exe file, and alot of other stuff j2o is to afraid to put on their site.

Shall I add more?

Posting JJ1 is illegal. Posting JJ2 is illegal. Most of the online hacks aren't on J2O because they ruin gameplay. Posting TSF is illegal. JCS cracks are generally illegal.

The moment you post the URL it will be removed from J2O links and reported to your host and your ISP.

You people are too overprotective, JJ1 should be freeware by now (or at least Epic seems to not care about it anymore). The site looks ok, except too much repetivity in color.

Why shouldn't we be open for for new Jazz Jackrabbit 2 fansites. Come on! Cheer a little bit more up instead of this negative attiude. It's not really a wonder why this community has gotten so boring and unreleated to the actual game, you're dislining every suggestion for new content, such as more fanpages, to the community. Fansites/File archives may draw more members and visitors to Jazz2online and JCF too, so it's just really good.

Posting illegal stuff is wrong however. Why bother. You're risking more than you think. Even Epic doesn't care of JJ1 more, ect, it's still their work and you should respect it. Reporting the ISP is maybe a little too much, Trafton.just rofl at trafton. you are really sad, haha makes me laugh. The only one being sad here may be you, because you're attacking Trafton without a reasoning behind.

Reporting the ISP is maybe a little too much, Trafton

Actually, hosting illegal content is against the usage agreements of most hosting services and ISPs.

Darker, there's nothing wrong with making a JJ2 site. You just can't put illegal things on it.

Darker
Jan 17, 2004, 03:39 PM
I wont distribute it on j2o, but trafton think for a second, there has been so many jj2 dl warez things and you have threatened them and nothing happened.

Ok, il shut up now. I am staying my site of j2o.

link, CAN i just put before downloading a legal agreement thing?

Well no. That would be like "Here's something illegal. Don't use it." If they aren't supposed to use it, there would be no reason to have it on your site.

Even if you did that and nobody downloaded it, you would still be doing something illegal by hosting it.

Ok, then I have one more option:

ACTUALLY ASKING EPIC GAMES :P

link, CAN i just put before downloading a legal agreement thing?
That won't make it legal.

Basically, the standard thing when Warez is posted on J2O is to delete it, warn/ban the user, remove the link, and notify the hosting company and (as this would not be the first offense in this case) the ISP. It's not being overzealous. It's the standard thing that is done for the sake of avoiding possible prosecution. When something like this happens, you do the best you can to avoid opening yourself up for a lawsuit. It's unlikely, but it's better safe than sorry, since even at the mere suggestion of a lawsuit, most ISPs drop web pages.

Ok, then I have one more option:

ACTUALLY ASKING EPIC GAMES :P
Feel free. I can't imagine a single reason in the world they'd say yes.

What's the big deal about simply not putting illegal things on it? Then you can put it on J2O and there's no risk to the well-being of your site.

Feel free. I can't imagine a single reason in the world they'd say yes.

Or if they'd say anything at all.

Not good enough. It would still be unacceptable.

Darker, it's not that people are being mean to you by telling you not to post illegal warez. It's just that it would be disrespectful to the law not to report you. If you post a link to something illegal on J2O, the administrators could be sued, too, which is bad.

Darker
Jan 17, 2004, 08:13 PM
wow, why not report the thousands of people who put on 10 mb abandoned games on their sites then?

Link
Jan 17, 2004, 08:58 PM
Darker, you are aware of the laws regarding this, and it is at your own risk that you are going to break them. You are also aware of the rules at the JCF and J2O, and you know that you are not allowed to discuss anything illegal. Therefore you cannot pursue this discussion on the JCF. Doing so shows that you are just trying to cause trouble. So please stop.

The discussion here has become unconstructive since it all pertains to the potential acqusition of illegal content. This thread is now closed.
