I learnt the hard way that it's not true. It's how others percieve it. Each forum has it's own spectrum of etiquette. I'm not a very social person, so forums are a chance for me to learn an aspect of it. Whether someone makes a "rude" post isn't necessarily about how many posts they make.
So, don't be hurt if someone calls you rude. In other places that's a high-esteem compliment and cultural unifier, like in the Caribbean.

You're actually very social on the forums, it's becoming a popular way of communicating recently. When you look at a spectrum of etiquette across the forums, realize you're becoming a leader and good example for new members. But you might need to put your work ethic aside at times.

You're tired and stressed. You're just a girl. So, don't try to operate like a big business.

They will come, after the playtest.

Hopefully I'll finally host this Sunday.

I did test the map with Spaz and Lori, but Spaz and Jazz can both jump high so for them are not impossible to reach certain areas, on Lori, it is possible to get to all the areas, but not that easy, because you gotta fly from platform to platform.

You know what! I just got a shiny bright idea, at my future levels I will add the ability to morph, so that people who join as Lori, and realize that the level is quite hard to play as Lori, you will get the ability to morph.

I'd say that above all else this contest was very succesful. 4 completed entries in about 2 months sure complies with the goal to 'bring potential to this forgotten gamemode'.

If hosting the levels publicly for playtesting becomes a problem, I'm OK with using the CDF server for it. I'd give you a temporary allaccess password and you're free to alter whatever settings are required. I promised in the poll thread to add all finished entries to that server's treasure playlist anyway.

I am making levels for my server and this was an awesome gamemode and so... I will put the levels made on this contest on the treasure gamemode.

EDIT: wait... 4 completed entries? where's the fourth?

Okay I take it, you don't know what tedious means.

Here; "too long, slow, or dull; tiresome or monotonous."
Aka, taking long convoluted ways to reach the same area.

It's really not that hard to make a level work for Lori, most of the time. And it's pretty tedious for Jazz as well. All that needs to be done is add one-ways and lower platforms.

When will we see the results ;(
EDIT: Alright, i (secretly!) playtested the levels. I will just tell what i think here instead of making a big review on all downloads
Okay

Damn Exit
by FireSworD (sWoosh)
This is a fun level. The design of this level is fantastic. Although, i would like it more if the exit was at that spiral, instead of it taking you to the top where the exit is. At some points it's hard to find the exit, but that's what makes treasure fun . In my opinion, this is a fun arena, especially at the center part.

Overgrown
by Laro B.
I never thought i'd see an underwater level! I like the idea, and the design is preety cool. I like what you made out of the pinball stuff. The exit's in the lower dry part (center of whole level). It's really FUN to shoot underwater, although catching all gems is kinda hard for me xd. It would be nice to see how that pinball stuff would work in the water part, though.

Vault of ceramicus
by Slaz
Liked it.This is one vertical level with two 'buldings' in it.The tubes can get you higher AND they can get you into the other building, the design is nice, really reminded me of how the JJ1ceramicus looked like (not cause it's the CERAMICUS TILESET ). This level really has some small passages. The bottom part is fine, though. Didn't open the vault, but i see that it's worth opening. It's PREETY HARD to get to the exit of the level. Especially when you're at the bottom. Then again, hunting after the exit is the fun part of treasure mode .

Treasure jail
by XxMoNsTeRXM
This is a 'canyon' typed level, with the damn tileset in it. Moving around in this level is preety fun. That gem saving script was a good idea, since you lose all of yours gems, and all. Although, the pit can be the 'escape pod' if someone was about to hunt you. The design of the level is normal. Getting around here with jazz and lori was easy with copter ears and all. Wasn't that hard with spaz's doublejump either. The exit ain't hard to find if you suicide using the pit. This is a fine level i guess.

All of these were better than epic's originals in my opinion. Oh, wait, i'm not a judge! So my opinion has no meaning here ;(. It's not my job to anounce the winner anyway. Overall, these levels are awesome.

I see you're new here. There have been underwater treasure levels long, long before this was created. Most are still on J2O.

In case anyone asks, I still haven't forgot about hosting.

Like Trey already said, underwater treasure levels have been a fan favourite for years by now. In a way it surprises me that only 1 entry here utilizes water. Pinball bumpers work fine underwater (with more velocity, defying reality) while paddles do not.

It's not that hard opening the 'vault' area, especially for long time players. All you really need is TNT (quickest way to get it from the start pos is by going through the nearest horizontal tube in the middle pit), and knowing that you're able to push through the vertical tubes at the vault while flying. Concerning the exit, there are 2 very accessible shortcut warps next to the vault below. And one of the post-release updates brought 2 extra platforms surrounding the exit to make it even more accessible.

And so the winners are finally announced, after an impulsive choice (sort of) to host the treasure entries around 10pm. Well, actually I asked players on a server if they were interested. At max I got about 10 players.

The winner is...

Overgrown!

After some extensive playtesting, we found this map the most enjoyable. While it may not have revolutionary eyecandy, it's the gameplay what truly counts. There is no overcentralised hotspot and it's not too hard to steal gems and get away with it, which makes this map more fun.

And the runner up is...

Damn Exit!

This level may look visually impressive, though once all the gems are collected, 90% of the action occurs in the bottom right area. It can get really chaotic and difficult to get back your gems at that point. The right seeker corner doesn't help much when you can just sit there and spam seekers once someone arrives. While we think that the gem placement is better than the winning entry (the ridiculous secret 100 gem cluster aside, which requires mastering the stupid pixel hunt that is walljump), good ammo placement has more impact. Also, a few particular areas look tilebuggy.

Detailed reviews of all the entries (including the winning ones!) will be coming up sometime.

The winners will need to PM me with their Paypal info.

Grats to Laro. I think his level is reasonably solid, but I don't like certain things pertaining to navigation.

Yeah, some of the tiling in my level is kinda questionable, and I did expect some criticism.

I'm not getting rid of the secret.

Congratulations Laro and FS! I really liked both your levels, as told in my reviews of them.

I'm glad people at least enjoyed my entry. The unusual design choice appears either loved or hated, and may've been too risky for a contest, but I'm still glad I finished it!

Did you actually play with other players or on your own?

Before you say something like "Oh, but I was _____!" I don't keep track of who's who with in-game names anymore. I got sick and tired of asking that (80% of players with fake/different names make a huge deal out of it).

Splitscreen doesn't count.

Does it count if I played with some friends of mine? My router can't port forward (or I'm stupid) so the only method was to play using Hamachi. I still find Damn Exit better. It has a small story too, it's more "pleasuring" to see, it's just better. Even if Overgrown had water, I still didn't enjoy it that much. Just my oppinion. Also, why do you need to know if I played with other players?

Because it's a multiplayer gamemode. I think that players who haven't played a MP map with others shouldn't review the level, because you can't just judge a book by its cover and blurb.

Good eyecandy and story doesn't necessarily make a good level, it's just the icing on the cake for me.

As a future tip, you don't have to host the levels. There are some hosts willing to temporarily host them, though I went and hosted myself for convenience (also that I expected the ridiculously long filename of Treasure Jail to cause problems, which it did).

Okay, I get it. Questioning if players played with others in a MP level, gives the impression that that I somehow think of my thoughts as facts. No one should need to state their opinions are opinions, because it's common sense, and those who get offended by them otherwise are ridiculous people (on trivial matters).

Infact, my first impressions thought that Damn Exit would be better.
