Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

Mike delivers another amazing level pack here. My only complaint is that the jungle level did not contain enough of a story to keep be interested. And those green bats are too hard to spot!

I’ll post a full review here later but I wanted to let give people a warning.

Do NOT play this with a hacked jazz2.exe. When I first played this I ran into numerous errors (no errors occur in multiplayer). You should play with the original 1.23 without any modifications to be safe.

Otherwise Mike maintains his high standards with this pack and this will not disappoint. Download immediately.

I’d say this further shows that your first level in JCS will turn out horrible.

I fixed the problem with the ‘ in the zip name. Please use standard characters in filenames to avoid this sort of problem.

While this tileset itself is not extremely impressive in what it contains, it does an excellent job with what it does, allowing for it to make a decent level. While being mostly basic blocks filled with ads, everything is presented well and while very simple it is none the less very effective.[This review has been edited by Bobby aka Dizzy]

Yet another action-packed quality level by EvilMike. This level while being small, acheieves the goal of Mike perfectly with the easy ambushing and fast play.

It’s always so hard to think up suggestions for the level since I always test Mike’s levels before he releases them, so this is great stuff.

I’ll start with the tilesets. Unlike most edits or anything that I’ve seen before, this is really fixing some of the things that castle missed, including the texture background and stuff like that.

The battle level is fine, and a fun game with good gameplay. I’ve played it online a few times and I haven’t noticed anything wrong with it. An 8.2 is well deserved since this is top notch.

Good work here Mike, I love the layout and the similarity of the two sides with flipped stuff and all. Makes for great 2 vs 2 play (as I know).

Nice stuff here Shad. From version one to now there is extreme improvement and I love the layout that is now there. The level is quite easy to learn and fun once the layout is mastered. Balanced and chock full of good stuff.

Nice tilset here. Everything is well done and I have no major complaints. I’d say more, but it would be just rehashing what others said.

This is a nice level by Super Saiyan. The eyecandy and all is nice, but at times I find it excessive. It can be a little hard to tell what is forground and what is scenery at times.

Layout in this level I would consider a little poor. You have a too many dead ends and a few places that lend themselves to a single player level rather than a battle.

Also, in the level I found numberous places that I had a much harder time getting to with Jazz as opposed to Spaz.

The level itself I would say is just decent, but I love new concepts. The level I find lacks good obstacles in places though. For example, the last bit where the passage is limitted to one tile is nearly impossible to gain on someone and pass them. Overall the level makes a fun race though.

I’ll give this a 7.2 for the concept and level.

Level is pretty good. I think it works with the concept. No powerups is good for the level. Low detail does suck though and it could be fixed ;p

I won’t make it higher cause of the concept seeing as I did have a lot to do with the concept.

Great level Mike. The eyecandy is perfect and layout is superb. The puzzles are good too, takes some ingenuity (Yay! RF Jumping) ;P and that rock puzzle was great too, took me a couple of minutes. Bonus level is fun too. Good stuff Mike :)

Wow, its currently the highest rated level on J2O at a 9.706.

The most amazing tileset I’ve seen in a very very long time. Example level makes great use of the tileset and shows how the set can be used. You need to download this.
