Treasure Hunt can be exceptionally hard to make a level in. Usually, one should try something like Battle first.

This Treasure Hunt level was not the best. It was relatively small, and, because of the gem count of 50, would only work with 2 players and a required gem count of.. 35.

A layer 3 problem was encountered at 39,42. Fix that by making the other pieces of sucker tube layer 3 too?

I also didn’t like the piece of pipe at 32,40. It didn’t work well as eyecandy.

The backround could have been made a lot better, though Tube Electric doesn’t have much for backround.. I thought things should have been spread around more, instead of having most of the similiar backround tiles clumped together.

There should have been some secrets. Also, all good Treasure Hunt levels need some ammo, as you do need to shoot your opponent.

This level had pure red gems, no super gems, gem rings, green gems, blue gems, even purple gems. That was not very good, pure red gems get boring after a while.

The sucker tube warps were much to my distaste. When I first saw one, I walked over to it. When nothing happened, I tried jumping. Only then did I get warped. I’d say you should put a warp on the tile too, or if you don’t want to, at least make it clearer that there’s a warp there with a different tile.

The Carrotus music actually didn’t do too badly, though the normal Tube Electric music might have been a little better. No points taken off for that.

The level felt too unfinished, as it was too open. A roof might have eased the feeling up.

With the exit, I’d suggest actual sucker tubes – one going in, one going out. It could be sort of annoying to get out of right now.

Eyecandy existed, so I can’t complain.

Down to the scoring..

PICKUP PLACEMENT:

Only pickups were gems, and they didn’t have very interesting placement.

1.5/5

GAMEPLAY:

As I said, too much of that unfinished feeling. Not very much to hold my attention.

2/5

TILESET USE:

Tube Electric can be a hard tileset to use if you’re beginning to make levels, and this didn’t use the tileset very well. You didn’t use a lot of tiles, though the small size of the level forgives that slightly.

2.5/5

EYECANDY:

Not much of this, really. A lot more could be added on. The tileset has, however much you have to reuse them, several eyecandy tiles.

1.5/5

WOULD I HOST THIS?

No. No download recommendation.

Next time..

-Add more secrets
-Add different sorts of gems
-Make a larger level
-Put more gems in
-Add more eyecandy
