This is my favorite battle level of all time. The eyecandy is good for this tileset, the flow is amazing, the music is nice, gameplay is good, layout is great, ammo placement is nice, and everything is just good.
Download reccomendation: Yes.
Host this often: If I host battle, I’ll host this.

This level rocks! I may not review levels much, but I know this one if defintely one worth downloading! There’s lots of hidden paths and cool warps and such. Also the tileset is great![This review has been edited by Shadow XZ]

Yet another unique level by Violet. I enjoyed the backround extremely! Gameplay is good, but all those springs make it hard to shoot sometimes. Good amount of ammo, very fun too. I HIGHLY suggest you download this.

This level is cool! :) My only complaint is that in some spots near the bottom, it became a vanilla (plain) level.

As I did play it on your server, I really liked the level. Great Eye Candy, weapon placement… Though bad placement of Chuck, I couldn’t find him! And too many powerups. Overall excellent level! [This review has been edited by JJ Tublear]

I think this is a good level with good eye candy good weapon placement and good layout :-).
It’s hard to move around in some places
(especially if you’re jazz)

YaY! Finaly someone uses one of Skulg tilesets! There are some much good tilesets out there, but no one uses them…Just think…Dats, Disguese, Overlord, Agama(!), Newspaz… But anyway. Lets get down to the nitty-gritty of inheriting my mony reviewing this level.

I`m giving this level a very high 9(!) points. Why, you say? Here`s why:

This is one of the best battle levels i`ve seen in a long time. The weapen placement is excelent. So is the level design and the eyecandy. The music fits nicely too, although i could`ve thought of some music files that would fit beter. The tileset was used in a realy superb way. Download recomendation? By golly, yes!:-D.

Cool! “Chocolate Lamp” is a very decent battle level using fellow german tileset maker Skulg’s great “Lava Lamp” tileset. In the readme file, the author tells us that he used Commander Dats’ little level making tutorial as a reference…all i can say is: very smart idea! :-)
The level has some quite original ideas in it, for example a yellow/black/red cycling background layer, pinball events and hidden warps and sucker tubes. The whole layout is quite fluently playable which is the main requirement for every good battle map. Violet CLM also tried to put some eyecandy in it, the screen is dominated by those large red…errr…bubbles (at least six layers used, i think). Nevertheless, there are some aspects in “Chocolate Lamp” i don’t like that much. There is an obvious lack of weapons in my opinion and there are way too many shootable blocks, for example. Furthermore, DISTORT.MOD by basehead isn’t my favourite song for this level, sorry.

However, “Chocolate Lamp” is a very original and good looking level creation using a great custom tileset. Therefore, i can only STRONGLY RECOMMEND DOWNLOADiNG iT and hosting a battle server or two!!!

Can you believe the background actually caused the game not to run smoothly on my pc? i’m afraid that’s one of the top ten signs i need to get a new computer:(

But enough of that, the level now: eyecandy was very good, although i generally don’t like those flashing backgrounds, but those are part of the tileset i guess… The size of the level is perfect, good to host games in. It needed a few more weapons though, but mostly this is a good level.

INTRODUCTION TO CHOCOLATE LAMP
OK…let’s get started:
Cool, at last a battle lvl made by one of Skulg’s tileset. That’ll prolly make her happy. ;) Oh, and this review is prolly gonna make Violet happy too. ;)
Btw Violet, the name doesn’t fit this lvl at all. :-P (well at least I think so!)

EYECANDY
Chocolate Lamp is a VERY good lvl and has many kinds of eyecandy. There are those red spikes, large red bubbles floating around, the background changes colour, there are small lavla lamps here and there, some nice transparent stuff and when you go into one of the sucker tubes, the whole screen lights up as if someone turned the lava lamps heat up to max which is very neat and also comfortable for the eyes. :-)

WEAPON PLACEMENT
The weapons placement is not very good though, one of the reasons why I didn’t give this an 8 instead. The ammo is simply faaar to sparse and it’s very annoying shooting around with the blaster for ages until you find any weapon that’s of use. The amount of powerups is also too little and it can also be very hard to find them. You should work on this Violet….

GAMEPLAY
Now, this is one of the strong points of Chocolate Lamp. The gameplay is superb and it’s very easy to run around and…ehr…and so on. :-P But…this is when I come to the bad stuff: this lvl has too many destructable blox and it’s very annoying!!!!!!!! You should work on this Violet…

BAD STUFF
Ok, on to the DARK side of the lvl. ;-)
Chocolate Lamp has very bad placed sucker tubes. They are SOOOO hard to get into cause the —-> tube is right under the <—- tube which makes it difficult to get into the <—- tube. Get it?? ;-P Also, there are more chocolate bars in the lvl than there is weapons!! What is this, an sugar rush battle lvl? Take them away and replace them with weapons. Also the lvl has got one useless thing: why put little Chuck in the lvl?! He’s useless cause he doesn’t help yer shoot other players in MP. You should work on these things Violet…

Almost perfect!!!!!!!!! just beef it just a little more with eyecandy and it’s a perfect 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW, this at first, fooled me,i had no clue it was hoing to be this good. The backround eyecandy, that changing backround and thos bubbles, they ROCK. the music fits, but there are to many dead ends in the level. Cool effects like those shning lights saying Violet CLM. Lots of springs here as well, but like magoo said, they make it hard to shoot around. I have no idea why the crate was there, it just made a gemcrate fall from the sky, and gems are useless in battle. lots of good and bad points here, but its a fun level. The backround absolutely ruled!

Now this is a good level, a battle but it has a few things that bring it down. Here is my review VIOLET CLM! Eyecandy: The eyecandy here is really cool! I love the way there are sludge balls change color and move up and down. This is excellent. There doesn’t seem to be any bugs on the sprite. Gameplay: The gameplay here is great, The suckertubes are really cool. But what brings this down is that there are a few (actually a lot of) dead-ends. That kind of brings it down. Apart from that it rules. Placement: The pickup placement again is great and that is great! Overall: This level is great, it just needs less dead-ends. Download: YES!
