It has been a while since I asked for the J2E making program or at least using it by someone else to compile Devil Dash Episode 1 episode file. Since DD is divided to episodes (and this isn't just because I wanted to - each episode centers around different element of the story, as well as each has other stuff in common that other ones don't have or have only rarely) I can't do it without that program, so somebody who has it or knows who else has it - PLEASE HELP! As long as I don't have the episode file, Devil Dash episode 1 WON'T be released.

Errm. I hope you get it but why is it so important?

I wrote this already - it's because of the way Devil Dash is built. It's divided to 6 episodes, where each is quite different.

Couldn't you just release it like other people's episodes where it just goes in the home cooked levels list?

No, J2E's are 1337.

Custom episodes cause problems with existing episodes. They appear off the screen and I think the game crashes if there are too many. That's why the j2e program has not been widely distributed.

But TSF has lots of extra room on the episode list so I don't think it would be a proboblem for him since his episodes TSF only.

I already said (in another thread) that the best idea is keeping Devil Dash in another directory, with it's own executing file and registry (I'm working on the last thing).

Seems like Devil Dash will not be realesed then.

I would think that the levels themselves are more important than the episode file.

I would think that the levels themselves are more important than the episode file.

I would think that if others got it too and it is such a big levelpack a .j2e file would be quite useful, considering it is divided into episodes like the normal jj2 and he said there wouldn't be problems with JJ2 crashing, so what's wrong with giving him the program to do it?

If we would give it to everyone at some point problems with the ammount of episodes would appear again.

Then why are some people allowed to make episode files for their packs (like you and violet) and some aren't?

Ahem, is there some way I can prove I'm worthy that J2E?

Then why are some people allowed to make episode files for their packs (like you and violet) and some aren't?For me that has been a long time ago. Before I was aware of the disadvantages of custom J2E files. I don't know about Violet.

Maybe I'll ask Epic, like the first J2E maker did.

*didn't ask epic*

Oh, you say you were the first owner? Well, I heard that Epic gave that prog to someone and that's how it started.

OK, I came up with a solution. I will first make a J2E-less DD episode 1. People will download it and play. They will see it's good (I hope) and maybe then I will get the J2E program or cooperation with a person who has it. If it will be as I'd like, then I would make a patch for it, a bit like it was made with Lost World Episode by Ninja Dodo. Good?

I hope it'll be good. But Carrottus level has lot of tilebugs :(
