What is "Jazz Jackrabbit CD"?
Jazz Jackrabbit 1 episodes 1-6 and A-C. A-C were missing in the original edition.

And HH94, with an extra feature to play all the 3D bonus levels.

Other than that it is pretty accurate.

Is Jazz dead?
No. Shut up.
Ahahaha.

Actually Conker, there are two versions of JazzCD: the regular one, and the version with HH94. I've seen both, and both have the Z bonus level epsiode.

And didn't HH98 have its own JCS?

<a id="patches"></a>Where can I get (a patch)?
http://www.dutchfurs.com/~haze/?cat=files&dir=files/pc/patches

<a id="124pat"></a>Where can I get the 1.24 patch?
The 1.24 patch is not free to download, and the only way to get a 1.24 version of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is to purchase "Jazz Jackrabbit 2: The Secret Files". The game may still be available in some Dutch stores, and you should <a href="http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/node.php?nodeID=82">check here</a> if you want to buy it online.

<a id="install"></a>I can't install the 1.23 patch. I have the full version of Jazz 2, version 1.00. Why is this?
1.00 versions are early betas of the game ("OEM" versions), and are not supported by any patches or programs. If you want the full gameplay experience, including fixed bugs, multiplayer and a level editor, you need to buy a working copy of JJ2.

<a id="jj1levels"></a>How do I make levels for JJ1?
http://www.jazz2online.com/jcs94/

<a id="macjcs"></a>I have the Macintosh version of JJ2. How do I make levels?
You can't. There is no JJ2 level editor for macs.

<a id="buy"></a>Where do I buy (insert Jazz game here)?
Follow this (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/node.php?nodeID=82) link, or do a Froogle (http://froogle.google.com/) search.

<a id="download"></a>Why should I buy Jazz? Where can I download (insert Jazz game here)?
All of the available shareware and freeware Jazz games are available here (http://www.dutchfurs.com/~haze/?cat=files&dir=files/pc/shareware). Downloading full versions of any games other than Holiday Hare 94 and Holiday Hare 95 is illegal and is not supported by these forums.

<a id="16bit"></a>I don't see the "16-bit color" option on my JJ2 menu.
Some slower CPU's do not support the 16-bit color option, and so it is not included on the menu. The suggested solution is to upgrade your video card. ;)

<a id="retrieve"></a>When I try to join servers, I see an "Error Retrieving List Servers" message!
Download and use the latest list servers patch <a href="http://www.jazzjackrabbit.net/download.php">here.</a>

<a id="error"></a>I am getting an error with something.
Play it safe and post your problem in the <a href="http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/forumdisplay.php?f=9">Technical Help forum</a>. However, before you do so, read this topic (http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=5811) and follow all the links to make sure your problem has not already been answered. If you can't get any help, post away, and people will do their best to help you.

<a id="razz"></a>Who is Razz?
Razz a ma Tazz is Eva's cousin, a pilot/inventor character created by Dean Dodrill aka Noogy.

<a id="wubbo"></a>Who is Wubbo Ockles?
The original star of Jazz Jackrabbit, before it was turned into a game about a green rabbit. Wubbo Ockels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wubbo_Ockels) was the first Dutch astronaut; JJ2 creator Arjan Brussee is from the Netherlands.

<a id="king"></a>Does Eva have a father?
Yes, it has been mentioned in a couple places that there is indeed a king of Carrotus. However, he has never been seen.

<a id="girlfriend"></a>Is Lori Spaz's girlfriend?
No. She was originally intended to be, but a last minute change turned her into Jazz and Spaz's sister.

<a id="darkshell"></a>Why did Devan start wearing a cape and stuff for Jazz Jackrabbit Advance?
That's not Devan Shell, that's Dark Shell.

<a id="203"></a>What is version 2.03?
Another name for version 1.24.

<a id="cc99"></a>What's the difference between Holiday Hare 98 and Christmas Chronicles?
Not too much. Christmas Chronicles is the 1.24 engine, the HH98 levels and has levels from the TSF editing contest back in 1999. It also comes with a copy of JCS.

<a id="battery"></a>What is "Battery Check"?
Battery Check is another game using the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 engine. You can download a demo here (http://www.dutchfurs.com/~haze/?cat=files&dir=files/pc/shareware).

<a id="gigantic"></a>What is "Animaniacs: A Gigantic Adventure"?
Gigantic is another game using the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 engine. You can download a demo here (http://www.dutchfurs.com/~haze/?cat=files&dir=files/pc/shareware).

<a id="tril"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit Trilogy"?
Jazz Jackrabbit 1 episodes 2-4. 5-6 are unplayable, as is 1, which is odd because it's the shareware episode and thus available for free.

<a id="cd"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit CD"?
Jazz Jackrabbit 1 episodes 1-6 , A, B, C, X (though not in all versions) and Z. The letter based episodes were missing in the original version.

<a id="jj2se"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Special Edition"?
The Secret Files.

<a id="xmas"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit 2 X-Mas"?
The Secret Files.

<a id="diamond"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Diamond Edition"?
An early name for The Secret Files.

<a id="winter"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Winter Edition"?
An early name for Christmas Chronicles.

<a id="2000"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit 2000"?
An early name for Christmas Chronicles.

<a id="123se"></a>What is JJ2 version "1.23 SE"?
A stripped down version of Jazz 2 with only one of the registered episodes.

<a id="3"></a>What is "Jazz Jackrabbit 3"?
One publisher sold Jazz 2 under the title of Jazz 3 for some unknown reason.

<a id="3d"></a>What is this "Jazz Jackrabbit 3D" I've heard about?
From 1998 to 2000, a group of people was working on a sequel to JJ2 called Jazz Jackrabbit 3D. It was eventually cancelled. A functional beta is floating around, but it is illegal to distribute.

<a id="jvs"></a>Which is the better character, Jazz or Spaz?
This question has been posted many times, so please don't make another poll about it. Anyway, neither are better overall, they're just both better for different situations.

<a id="tweedle"></a>What is "Tweedle"?
Tweedle is an unfinished boss which was originally going to appear in the Psych/Wonderland levels. He was probably going to take away your guns for the fight. You can see a picture of him here (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=3447).

<a id="rt1"></a>What is "Rocket Turtle"?
Rocket Turtle is a boss which was never used in the game, and can be activated by using the Activate Boss event. It is functional, but is somewhat unable to actually attack you.

<a id="rt2"></a>When I use the Rocket Turtle, he flies out of the level and doesn't come back.
Place a large cloud of "Area ID" events above and to the left of the Rocket Turtle event, and create a long path of Area ID events coming out of the cloud. The Rocket Turtle will follow this path to the end, at which point it will stop moving.

<a id="comics"></a>Where can I find the comic from the JJ1 manual or the comic from the JJ2 manual?
JCF user <a href="http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/member.php?u=1592">n00b</a> has uploaded the comics from JJ1 and JJ2 to a gallery <a href="http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=157222">here.</a>

<a id="font"></a>Where can I find the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 font? You know, the one that comes in lots of colors?
Jazz 2 uses a bitmap font, which is not supported by word programs, and which has never been fully ripped to an image in any size. The closest you can get so far is this (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=2974) file.

<a id="secretpsm"></a>What is this "secret.psm" file from JJ1?
The music from the Deserto secret level.

<a id="scr1"></a>What is the screenshot key for JJ1?
Backspace+F2. Screenshots are saved as Screen#.lbm in the same folder as the .exe.

<a id="scr2"></a>What is the screenshot key for JJ2?
F12. Screenshots are saved as Jazz#.(pcx or tga, depending on your color depth) in the same folder as the .exe.

<a id="1251"></a>When will the 1.25 patch be released?
Nobody knows. Maybe never.

<a id="1252"></a>Why don't we make our own 1.25 patch?
We need the source code to JJ2 first.

<a id="1253"></a>I found <a href="http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=12632">this thread</a> about the 1.25 patch and it has screenshots!
That was an april fools joke, sorry.

<a id="fangame"></a>Why don't we make our own Jazz game?
People have thought of this before. If you want to organize a project, please make sure that you already some required skills, as you will not be able to make a game by telling us to make one. (You are quite likely to be able to find help with any number of non-work-related things, however, particularly game design.)

<a id="dead"></a>Is Jazz dead?
No. Shut up.

<a id="tchat"></a>How do I do team chat in multiplayer JJ2?
http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/articles/view.php?articleID=28

<a id="battlea"></a>What is "Battlea"?
Battlea.j2l is a special version of Battle1.j2l with a few differences, such as spikes and invincibility.

<a id="heat"></a>What are the "Heat Effect" and "Inside Plax" tile types in JCS?
I have no idea why your JCS would show those tile types, but rest assured that neither of them work or do anything at all.

<a id="valhalla"></a>When I complete the Secret Files, it gives me a password to use on a site, but the site no longer exists.
That is correct. All you would have gotten is a few home made levels, anyway. You can get better stuff at J2O. (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/)

Great, I'll close and sticky this now. I don't think people really need to reply. If they have something to add or change, they can contact Unknown Rabbit. And if they have further questions on a topic they can create a new topic instead of replying to this one.

Are there any mods for JJ2? Or any hidden JCS options? I'm trying to make a multiplayer level, but it would only work if running is turned off.

That is an option that I don't think has been explored, but you could suggest it to the makers of <a href="http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=17567">JJ2+</a> as it sounds pretty cool. :)

How to buy UGG sheepskin boots?Everyone who wear the UGG sheepskin boots will get many benefits. UGG boots are made to be worn barefoot as they will form to your feet and provide natural arch support. When buying a pair of sheepskin boots or ugg boots (premier brand in luxury and comfort footwear), there are many things to look for:First of all, you must make sure your sheepskin boots are actually made out of 100% authentic sheep skin. Some manufacturers use cheap substitutes such as gluing synthetic wool on to cow hide. These imitation sheepskin boots come at a cheaper price tag, but unfortunately the less expensive alternatives may cause skin irritations, encourage bacteria growth, wear down, tear quickly and noticeably less comfortable. http://www.shoppingugg.com When buying sheepskin boots, make sure they are manufactured from quality Australian Merino wool. Australian Merino sheepskin boots are considered the best material for making sheepskin boots and it also ensures that you will be able to use them for many years. Authentic wool also allows your feet to breathe and help reduce feet sweating. Merino sheep skin is by and large thicker and much more durable than other kinds of sheep skin, which helps your boots keep their shape as well as resist wear and tear. By purchasing sheepskin boots made from merino wool and sheep skin, you will be guaranteed that not only will they be the most comfortable pair of sheepskin boots you'll ever own, but they will also last for a long time to come. I have included some links if you would like to learn more about sheepskin boots or youwant to know where can buy some UGG Boots - Australia markets the premier brand in luxury and comfort. Their many products fit into your every day life offering you products that are fashionable, comfortable, and attainable.Ugg Boots have been made and worn in Australia/China for over 50 years and "Ugg" is not associated with any brand or style of sheepskin boot. Indirectly, this is possible. There is a mod->j2b converter, so I assume the opposite also exists. Modules can be easily saved as MP3 in Modplug Tracker.

alright, i'm having a really tough time locating a j2b to mod converter, but i have Modplug Tracker so once i do find a converter i should be able to save them easily as mp3, as you said, so if anyone finds a j2b to mod converter, let me know please, thanks for the help btw

Where can I find the comic from the JJ1 manual or the comic from the JJ2 manual?
JCF user n00b has uploaded the comics from JJ1 and JJ2 to a gallery here.

Isn´t there anymore. I´d erase this question or find another place, where someone can read it.( unfortunately i have no idea, where)

One question is missing from the FAQ
Where is the "Browse Downloads" option? / Why is the "Browse Downloads" option removed?

Stijn
Jun 9, 2009, 05:40 AM
You mean the "browse all" link that used to be at the bottom of the Jazz2Online downloads page? There's no need for that anymore - you can browse downloads directly from the download index, through the search fields (at top) or by going to a different page (at the bottom).

hey... when you join a 1.23 server on 1.24 and hit a switch box...you can play as Lori. It's weird with all the animations the other players see. Now ummm...is there anyway to first off, join as Lori to a 1.23 server (other than Lorifier, I couldn't ever get that program to work right). Also, its just strange how you can play as a character that doesn't exist in that particular game. Are there any downsides or side effects (aside from Lori's limitations as a character)?

Hi, I wanted to create a thread but I'll just post here.

I just downloaded Jazz 2 but I cannot change my control settings. I have been to the menu where you select controls but when I click on the controls I want and go back to the game nothing happens. How can I select "Keyboard 2"?

Please help, thanks.

Troglobite

1. Open Jazz
2. Choose the "Options"
3. Choose "Controls"
4. Initially, "Keyboard 1" will be selected. While "Keyboard1" is highlighted, press the right or left arrow keys to switch to "Keyboard 2" or one of the joysticks.
5. To edit the controls, use the up and down arrows to highlight the control you wish to change.
6. When the correct control is highlighted, press enter the the game knows you wish to change it, then press the key you wish to assign.

Like I'll click Done, and when I being playing it's revert back to Keyboard 1 controls.

When playing single player, you are never able to use Keyboard 2. You'll have to change keyboard 1 to whatever set of keys you want to use.

For multiplayer, you can select which set of keys or which joystick you'll use on the same screen you use to edit your colors and choose a name.

I tried to but it wouldn't let me click "w" "a" "s" or "d" to replace up, left, right, and down. xD

Yes, you can use them in keyboard 1. You just may need to change the keys for keyboard 2 to something else first.

I'd start a new thread but apparently am unable to do so, so I'll just post here, instead.

I'm stuck, in Jazz Jackrabbit 2. In the level entitled Jungle Jump, there are boulders that fall from the ceiling and roll after you. I somehow managed to get on top of a pair of these boulders, while it's still on the ceiling, and am now stuck.

What's worse is that that's my latest save, so unless I can somehow manage to kill Jazz, I can't progress in the game. And I've actually tried to kill Jazz. I've unleashed every weapon in his arsenal and nothing happens. If I bounce back with the rockets I bounce back into rock. If a dynamite explosion would push me down all it does is push me down into a boulder.

Any ideas?

Troglobite

Type jjk. This is a cheat code that will kill Jazz. Then forget that cheats exist, and continue playing.

Violet CLM
Feb 6, 2010, 11:40 PM
Or if you want a more detailed series of cheats that will get you out but not lose you a life: Type jjnowall, followed by jjfly, jjnowall, jjfly, and jjfly. Make sure you come out in the open air somewhere. Essentially, boulders are buggy and you can't get unstuck from that (or anything else) without cheating.

You cannot do it without haxing. And that, I think, is against the forum rules, so I won't tell about that.

Actually, in case you mean the thing that is done in Agama's Swamps, or more visibly in my Glowee, it's absolutely non-haxish. The effect however doesn't depend on the level, but on the tileset. Just replace the palette entries used by JJ2 with your colors of choice.

Another thing you can mean is use of the JJM script thingie. Not sure if player's colors change would work in SP, but at least a palette change should.

If you won't specify what kind of a change do you mean, it's really hard to help you. Do you even know anyone who's using custom colors in SP? Maybe would be smarter to ask him instead. And if you don't, wonder why do you even ask.

Jan 24, 2011, 11:45 AM
Huh. May be reachable with JJM (needs editing the levels and using an external program). Not sure however. In case it's not, yet you're very determined to use custom colors in SP, you can use JSD. I really don't recommend this solution though, as it'd need editing all the sprites of the rabbits, it's simply not worth it. Guess the simplest possibility would be using JJ2+ Singleplayer mode for a server in local network. It'd probably have downsides as well of course, even though I don't know what kind of them since I never really tested that mode exactly.

Edit: Oh man, I should seriously learn to say things in a better order, from the best to the worst. Don't feel like changing it now though.

You can use Cheat Engine to change your fur in SP (I have done it). You have to scan for the current fur color indices. That way you should be able to find two memory locations with 4-byte variables, one holding the "current fur" and the other the "permanent fur". Alternatively, you could use the memory addresses provided in here (http://www.jazz2online.com/wiki/?List_of_Jazz_Jackrabbit_2_Memory_Addresses).

I might release it sometime after I rewrote a part of it and added 1.23 compatibility... (yes, I am the one who wrote the program) also, these "additional features", which are actually the main features, are in fact small tweaks to the JJ2 engine based on suggestions for JJ2+ which were (seemingly) ignored. (Hopefully they're not considered hacks/cheats, they don't allow you to do otherwise impossible things.)

You can use Cheat Engine to change your fur in SP (I have done it).

The function allows you to change fur locally in multiplayer. While editing fur in SP is easy, you always have to kill your rabbit to display the modified fur in MP. The fur edits are immediately displayed, without killing your rabbit.

And you would start distributing this .exe? JJ2+ does not give you a modified Jazz2.exe, it gives you a patch that automatically injects the plus.dll to JJ2. If you feel that modifying Jazz2.exe is illegal, you can always just run plus.exe which does nothing permanent to Jazz2.exe.

If you read how JJ2+ works then you would see that it doesn't reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble JJ2 in any way....Just saying. JJ2+ is a fan-made ADDITION that when run, uses a .dll to run additional features to enhance the experience. New .j2ls add levels, JJ2+ adds gameplay. If you want a metaphor think of it this way: You are using an Internet browser, and you download a toolbar. The toolbar doesn't mess around with anything already in the browser, buts adds a few useful quirks that improve functionality and ease of use for the user, and change the overall layout a bit. Are browsing toolbars illegal? Nope. In fact some are encouraged by the creator as it shows user-devotion and a wider user-base.

That's just by two-bits on this somewhat ridiculous debate.

There's no simple way to get it to work. Even though some users have managed to get it sort-of working, the bottom line is it isn't really meant to work. The LK Avalon version of TSF has a number of differences in the way the code is ordered, or at least that's the impression I'm under, so that although it plays the same, a patch wouldn't do all that well. If there's a user out there that knows how to do it and is willing to help, that's fine, but I think you should consider downloading normal TSF and patching that instead.

When I bought JJ2 years back, JJ1 wasn't in the box. There was a small slip of paper saying there was a mistake and a number to call to have the disk sent to me from Gathering of Developers. @Robo4900 No, its the old DOS version. Was there a Windows release? GoDGames tried to talk me out of it over the phone when I called the number on the voucher. "This game doesn't run well on newer computers because JJ1 can't handle faster processing speeds", they said. Not like I could afford a newer PC. It worked fine on my 200 MHz Pentium.

To get the game, all I had to do was prove I bought JJ2 by reading something from the back of the manual. Anyone could have gotten JJ1 for free at that point XD. Shoot, I could have called them up again from another phone and shipped a copy to a friend. That wouldn't be an honest thing to do, but it is funny to think about. You could probably STILL buy an unopened version of 1.22 JJ2 with that card in it advertising for JJ1. But JJ1 runs on DOSbox now as opposed to being native to Windows. They're just two different operating systems, one would probably have to recompile the whole original project just for it to be a version of JJ1 that could compete with OpenJazz.

That reminds me of Jazz Jackrabbit for Windows Phone by Dobermann Software, which also uses Windows 8, which is a true port of JJ1 to Windows Phone. However, it's been taken out of the marketplace because it's not the 'real' "Jazz Jackrabbit" therefore it's copyright infringement. It'd be more accurately described on the Windows Store as being a Jazz Jackrabbit Port.

Yeah. It would be great if they made a big thing out of the 20th anniversary. I was honestly expecting something in 2011 for the Chinese year of the rabbit. It just seemed like a good promotional opportunity.

We got a shirt and the soundtracks, though. The games could very well be next.

And now I have a question: Has anyone ever seen or heard of any copies of Jazz 2 that actually DID come with Jazz 1? If so, in what form did it come?

Nice to know that there are copies that did actually come with it.

There's also a Twitter (https://twitter.com/jazz2online/).
And a Google+ (https://plus.google.com/107921513527567935941).

Both not too active either, but worth following for instant news on your oh so social life. :p

Okay, i don't know if this is the right thread to post my idea, and i don't like blowing your people's minds with suggestions and such. But, i have a little idea for YET ANOTHER JJ2 tournament...
So, you know how at the national tournament of jj2 countries play ctf for the best ctf playing country? Well, this time it's the same, but they're not fighting for just ctf, they're fighting for all gamemodes. Just like when countries play alot of sports at the olympic games, and the winner is the country with the most medals. I hope you all know what i mean what i'm trying to say :P
However though, I am nobody to orginise such a tournament. So, the reason i'm posting this is:
1. I just need (ALOT) of help with it. I'm not orginised enough to... well... host a tournament. I barely have time for JJ2 now. So if there is some people here who are capable of doing this stuff instead of me, i would be very happy :P.
2. There wasn't a JDC or a NT for a long time, and i think this kind of big tournament should be a snap.

And yes i posted something on a thread which wasn't updated with replies for months.Happy?

I've got a question.
How can I transfer one of my JJ2 saves to JJ2:TSF? I mean, I started playing JJ2 on Android and I'd like to change it into JJ2:TSF because it features Lori and more levels. How can I move the save to JJ2:TSF?

Save game files are named SAVEGAME.00#. I don't know offhand if there's any ingame issue arising from loading a 1.23 save in 1.24 (sprites looking wonky maybe?), but I guess you'll find out!

Best-case scenario, the only reasons it won't work will be:

File version
Episode ID
Character ID
Behavior pointers
Animations

By the way, that frog cheating tool you link to from your Facebook page is a creation of one of the community's most known active script kiddies, Electron. I recently spent half an hour helping a JJ2 player who used one of his programs and ended up having most of his online accounts stolen and abused due to spyware it contained. I suggest you check your task manager and startup programs for suspicious content and, most importantly, stop linking people to it.

Erm, question:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5IxyZ_hj54
So this video is made by Epic Games showing how to create a game, and uses Jazz as an example? Despite the fact that Jazz looks odd as fuck, it's nice that Epic still remembers about the good ol' green furred rabbit. Is it on the appstore? Under what name?

KRSplatinum

I played it on my computer. All you have to do is download the Unreal Development Kit, the Jazz demo comes with it. But the control scheme is meant for a touch-screen hand-held device, so it's increasingly hard to play on a traditional PC.

It's been called Jazz Jackrabbit Stick Shooter, or at least, that returns the most search results other than UDK iOS. The controls would of course work for Android touch-screen devices. But you might want to turn the vibrate off on the device if you're going to paly on Andriod, at least I would ;p. Anyway it's programmed to work on iPod, iPhone or iPad, I guess you would just have to export it from the Unreal Development Kit demo. There's a tutorial on how to do so if you have an iPod, iPhone or iPad.

For more information here's the "press release" so to speak from Epic:

I don't know how to port it from UDK to Android mobile. There's many examples of apps designed for both Android and iOS though. Maybe ask Epic if they can make UDK for Android.

Would be really cool to se the ACTUALL BETA of jj2, though.

The only published (read: leaked) thing that most closely resembles the concept of a 'beta' would be 1.10o. It more closely resembles the final product than 1.00g and 1.00h did, but is far glitchier and didn't have a publisher determined.

Still, JJ2's development was supposedly kind of rushed, and considering the problems with the 1.00 versions I doubt the devs had interesting inhouse builds that would be nice for us to see. The real intresting beta's are for games that have been in 'development hell' which were redone almost completely. Think about LameDuke (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtAqw-KyOgw) for Duke Nukem 3D, or some Nintendo games reviewed by Beta64 (https://www.youtube.com/user/Beta64Channel).

Primpy, the beta versions of JJ2 came with some PCs (maybe Gateway PCs or maybe not) and the only official way to get the beta versions of JJ2 is buy a PC manufactured and released from the 1998 era that happens to still be on sale.

In other words, it's virtually impossible to legally obtain the beta, since I doubt computer stores keep 16-year old computers in stock. But if you bought a computer around that time, it might have come with a JJ2 beta.

But yeah, it's common practice to include random games with computers. My favorite examples of this are Minesweeper and POD racing.

Yeah... this game. http://www.gog.com/game/pod_gold

POD Gold. It was freaking awesome, I loved it and it had the best music, in fact now that I found it on GOG.com I'm almost about to buy it and see if it'll run, considering the price.

That's off-topic though. The way Epic released the JJ2 betas (there's 2 versions), they weren't intended as a demo nor a shareware release, just a beta test. And there's no reason to redo a beta test when they already fixed beta bugs.

I know most of these stuff, but unfortunately I haven't bought any Intel products in the '97-'98 (Maybe because I wasn't born, duuh.) At the moment I want to fill up my collection of Jazz Jackrabbit games on my PC, and the beta is missing. Also, I like the beta HUDs more than the ones used in the actual game. I don't know why, but the beta is more appealing to me.

I think they had some 'inhouse builts', Look at the interview with Nick Standler
http://www.jazz2online.com/news/679/interview-with-jazz-jackrabbit-artist-nick-stadler/
Quote:Initially, between each “scene” there was to be a 3D time warp sequence in which Jazz and Devan were to battle with each other until they reached the next destination. Arjan actually coded a 3D sequence for it which looked pretty damned cool. We just couldn’t make it work.

Slaz
Dec 17, 2014, 09:56 AM
We just couldn’t make it work.
That probably says enough. The 3D sequence would likely be an EWJ 'Andy Astroids' style effect. I'd sure like to see it though if Nick made additional spriting for it, yet I doubt the idea ever came that far.
