Ok, i posted this in other topics but anyway.
While I was experimenting with Xjj2 i found 2 sprites that interest me.
8d 00 00 00 Can only be used in capture1 (no idea why though) and has frames of eva jumping and a TNT crate (TNT crate is shown when moving on vines)
CA F0 00 00 is Nicknamed Carrot Abolished Freak By Silly Ghoul (by brother)
When CAF swims it shows a purple potion.
by the way, 83 EE 00 00 is invisible, cannot be hurt. can sometimes has one of the oddest shooting points ever. It only pulses with frames sometimes. It also crashes when on vines for some time.


Excluding 83 EE, Are the animations of the TNT crate, potion and jumping eva pre-OEM?
Possibly i just found The biggest hole in the anims.j2a coding.

All the screens are TGA files. So Try it for yourself, or i need something odd.

Possibly i just found The biggest hole in the anims.j2a coding.The biggest hole is the one which let Pyro see everything which anims.j2a contains.

For some odd reason paste is still in gray. it worked for something else.

GAH, That's it. Try it for yourselves then. I seem to be unable to get it working.

Could you please explain a bit more what you were doing?

I only understood that you found some weird sprites which for some magically reason only work in Capture1.

EDIT:

Jumping Eva was probably a left over from pre-OEM, where Eva was meant to be a playable character.

Jumping eva, purple potion and tnt crates are still in CC99 anims.j2a, so i suppose they still had plans for it.
One day, when school will allow me to do different stuff, you'll see more

And if not, you can always try puttin those files into a .zip and upload it on your website, if you have one. That would be helpful too.

Well, Guess what. I found 2 more Cool Things.

55 ea 00 00 Changes sprites depending on the lighting :O

Then there is this one (f0 ac 00 00) is basically random all the time (not sure about this but it might be some other thing this one changes on, but it changes sprites like MAD.)

Still, i cannot fiqure out how to post screens.

Anyway, f0 ac 00 00 has animations of pinball bumpers and once i saw a pinball flipper!

I wouldn't mind seeing the TGA files, if you please. Most of us'd be able to view it.

@Twinsoul: but pinball bumpers and flippers are easily available by just using JCS and running the lvl with JJ2.

It's really not that hard to convert a tga into a jpg, you don't even have to convert it to change it.

There's a few completely different very very simple methods.

Gah, i know that. But the sprite that changes depending on the lighting OWNS!

Anyway, another one i found which is AC F0 00 00 can become enemy sprites when
Swimming or on a pole (V or H? i forget.) And its stand is the bird's lifes icon.

Google search for Targa (*.tga) file viewers. They should be able to convert into a PNG, or at least you can print screen them and paste it in paint.

While I could not repliocate the Eva/TNT sprites, I do have one of the potion(among other things):http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/lijik/potion.bmp
Sorry about it being in .bmp, I can only do so much with my 98's MS Paint, and I was on my 98 when I tried the reg editing.

Maybe a Bird/Frog->Jazz morph pickup which works just like food while you're a rabbit?

By the way, CA FF EE 00 is a gunless spaz falling when standing, and works in coop only.

Try 8d 00 00 00 in another level using the same tileset capture1 uses. (Can't remember it, but I think it's tube) I think it's the pallete and the sprite lookup meshing.

I got XJJ2
I opened regedit and changed Char under player 0 to 83 EE 00 00 (is this the right value?)
ran XJJ2 and setup a battle game...

super Jazz crashing action!! :(

Get The Anti-Access violation patch.
Then it will work.

Wrong. Ctrl+v won't work....Press "Print Screen," open a image editing program, edit-paste, saved as jpeg/jpg

Bah, I wish I hadn't lost my JJ2 CD. I want 1.23 now >_< In TSF, the game either crashes or you become invisible and you can't touch objects.

What do you mean CTRL+V doesn't work? Edit-paste has a hotkey: CTRL+V.

Yes, but just pressing Ctrl+V doesn't work.

After using Print Screen, Ctrl+V works fine for me.

Yes, your keyboard has problems if you can't use CTRL+V to paste something after you've just pressed Print Screen. Or else you really, really need to read my posts more carefully... :p
