And thinking about the subject, I am now wondering what ever happened to Splash and Payback (*sigh* the old days in Carrot Clan; man, that takes me back so many years :)). Not to mention Super Saiyan, my favourite co-JDC official back from the days when Euro JDC officials were nearly impossible to find and the two of us were basically keeping the Euro events alive by ourselves. I was told on DA that you guys missed me... I gotta say, I miss you too...

A lots happened since I was last here; I've had three girlfriends, gotten a job, gained and lost a lot of friends, tried selling my stuff (which I tried last time I was here in fact, and left feeling let down... Don't worry, none of you are to blame for any of it, frankly it seems a LOT of people I thought were in my corner were worse about it then you.) and am on my last year of studying animation with the hopes of getting a job, or possibly making something out of my guys. I might even graduate with honors if I keep up what I've been doing. Heck I actually got a psudo job thing with a former classmate of mine who wants to make an animated story about a dragon who learns how to belly dance.

I'm not sure if this is a comming back thing- I'm not even sure if I'm the same Batty Buddy you WANT back- a lot of stuffs shaken my foundation of beliefs lately and my unsureness in my own future has me at wits end as well, but when I heard about this... well, I just couldn't sit there without saying something.

A long time friend of mine, however, keeps my mind on Jazz, and Batty Buddy, and Basket Kate(Mostly cause of revenge for someone else who sort of ruined Jazz for me as of late.), and when my mind moves to Jazz, it moves to this old place as well. I love you guys.

Have to say this though, wherever all of the above might be and whatever they might be doing, I sure hope they make it allright in life. That extends to this whole community, because just like Jazz, Spaz and Lori, you guys rock!

You do make a point however about how power does corrupt some people in the community sometimes. They go from a friendly sort of nature, to a more "professional" approach as such. Really its just a game for fun.

I'm not really sure if birdie changed when he became a JDC official. Then again back then I wasn't on everyone good books, and still to this day aren't with some people.

Edit: that was not a shot at cooba btw. I think cooba is in fact a very nice gentlemen, such a power would never corrupt some one such as him.

It is however a common thing. I suppose the words "power corrupts" , "money corrupts" you have heard plenty of times.

the only person I ever enjoyed dueling because he would pick different levels, some unknown to me (this one time he picked a really wicked ctf level where there was only one way to get in and out of the base, i think, and you needed to be really inventive and creative in your gameplay. I put up a great fight considering it was my 1st time playin that level, but he still pnwt me 5-3).

I miss IP Dope, our second clan leader, and I still remember having to run through all his humongous test levels just to apply for the clan. He tortured me for hours. Also he was way cooler than Unhit, and that's saying something considering Unhit already is on the Jedi-level of cool.

I miss Disguise and his amazing tile-set designs and his creativity and his fun attitude and oh my god the dude was ****ing amazing. He still pops around #jj2 sometimes, doesn't he?

I miss Fawriel and Radium and their everlasting battles on the JCF.

I miss Veggieman because I had a crush on him from his completely hot pictures in the picture section, even though he never knew that and it would probably creep the hell out of him.

I remember Spaztic and his great humor on #jj2 too, maybe he's still around sometimes? Oh and Trafton as well.

I've come to know some of the best people in this community. Nothing will ever beat it, I think. The Warcraft and art communities I'm hanging around in these days are nothing compared to the legacy of the Jazz 2 community.

I kinda miss AcId, just for the sake of the good old times and working together as the TIMM. Even though whatever we produced is just crap when I listen to it now, I wonder where did he go from there, or does he still work with music at all.

I also slightly miss one of the first people to join JSZ, who just used her real name Marta. Due to a lack of nickname, finding her has been impossible even right after she left, but I do recall her being just a very nice person I liked talking to.

on the main topic, I miss Ax Man, they introduced me to another forum that's since become near and dear to me (GamingForce Forums (http://gamingforce.org/forums), I'm, uh, currently Dandelion Cysts there for... reasons).

Around seven years ago, I encountered AJ2F (my old clan leader!) in very unusual circumstances. It was Otakon, you see, and I had just gotten my first Nintendo DS right before leaving for the convention, so I didn't have any games for it. But if you remember, it came with PictoChat, which LANs up with nearby DSes...
...so I was sitting in an auditorium, waiting for a movie to start, and some guy called "Jason" asked me if I ever played Jazz2, because he found my name familiar. And, well, I only knew one Jason in jj2!
Turned out he had been sitting not ten feet away from me. O____o

After going mostly idle from 2007-2010 and playing hard from 2011 to now there's people I miss from before all of this and from more recently. Gotta try and take the time to remember some folks.

There's VelKasha who I think I first read a story she posted on JMMB, then found her on JJ2. Maybe she was embarrassed about her story but I liked it. Her old name was Agent Megumi (I think). She turned out to be a hard player to beat in the Server hosted by Monolith and maybe the smartest person I knew. I wanted to be in a clan with her and Lark :p. Anyway slightly recently I think she started teaching math or something but wanted a different job from that. When I found out she fed her rabbit cranberry raisins I was jealous lol. Well that's that. One time I acted like I wanted to ask her something really serious and then said are you a cow because I figure even cows can play JJ2.

Wild Angel UOI, I thought she was called something else before that. 7OF9. This really caught my interest since I knew Star Trek from my dad and liked it. Found someone with a common interest online at least. And maybe that was the first time I used chat to go along with it.

ElectroPiZZa had the stupidest sense of humor indeed. Check attention everyone for more details.

More recently I was invited to a clan called t3 by JJBynny. I was reluctant to leave the inactive SI but he convinced me in a day or two. Plus it was my birthday so I needed the change. JJB and the other members of t3 proved fierce competitors and we managed to win ladder in my 3rd season with them. After winning that season's playoffs JJB hasn't really been on JJ2, t3 is going for 1st place in ladder again though.

I did leave t3, and was in CDF for a while. One defining moment for me was to beat a strong t3 team almost as soon as I joined CDF, with my teammates MS and Kenny. Kenny is a heralded CTF player who made his name in GpW during early ladder. He might have the most potential still in competitive jackrabbit. Anyway he said he wants to be neurosurgeon, reminding me of my keen interest in biology, microbiology, genetics, ecology, etc. But I'm more interested in seeing if he was active again, he could push the limits of everybody in terms of competition. We played a lot of 3v3 with me, Kenny and Jenny and felt like we were the only ones laddering at that time lol.

Anyway I can't go through the ages and talk about every single girl and guy who I like from this game. Too many stories and stuff. But I'm active on JJ2 a lot now these days and I have figured out how to make time for doing things for fun like JJ2. So I don't plan on going away from jazz, it's my main inspiration, one thing that really motivates me.

We're being formative every day of our lives, depending on how you look at it!

Your tilesets are still being used and enjoyed through levels made with them. And while new downloads on J2O are kind of stagnating at the moment, whatever comes out is of generally noteworthy quality.

For instance, go and check out Spastic and Blackraptor's latest Singleplayer levels. Or look for some scripted levels like Ozymandius if you haven't played them yet. Good stuff!

I'm one of those people who visit this forum once or twice a year. While most players I knew are long gone, It's nice to see some names I remember. Like Stijn from the UJP years, Shadow and some others vaguely. How remarkable and awesome that some people are still active in a community for a game that hasn't had an official update or sequel in 16 years!! (There is no GBA game :P) So much has changed, but J2O is still here!

I still play Jazz 2 every now and then for the sake of nostalgia as (like many of us) this was a rather important part of my younger years, and still consider it one of the best games ever made in terms of story, characters and 2D online experience. Nothing has ever really topped it, and no game-community has been more friendly. I will have a look at the latest version of JJ2+ soon.
