Bah, I just noticed how AWFUL this level was done in the original JJ2 level. There is a part where you can see the bottom of a big carrot that is in the foreground, and there is a part where a plant is just floating around for nothing. Why on earth is this level so bad? Carrotus 2 is good..

It is just the way Epic designed it. ;-P

It is just the way <s>Epic</s> CliffyB screwed it up. ;-P

Actually, it's not completely his fault :). The game originaly was designed for the 320x200 resolution. And considering that the levels probably already were done end 1996, noone ever took the time to fix them.

That probably also is what caused the levels to be so easy. try playing them in 320x200 for a change.

Well, that had been standard for quite a few years. In DOS games. Which still were quite common at that time.

And of course, Jazz2 also was being developed for DOS.

DOS was an OS where you didn't need a mouse... :)

I've most recently been playing solely in 400x300 and I like what I see, but i'm not sure why. It works fine even with internet play, except when things are written and they go off the screen, or if too many things are said at once . . but needless to say it's nice they left the resolution options open after the game was done.

There are often problems between resolutions in levels, so i imagine real sticklers must check their levels in low and high detail, and all resolutions to make sure they retain a good look. ;)
