DDay is doing well so far

Well...

My appearance first came from what a totally-red jazz w/ white gun and headband looks like in the game... since I'm not so good, I gradually moved away from the gun (its last incarnation was a strange beam thing) and gave myself a staff, inspired by Ark of Terranigma, that classic RPG. At the same time, I was getting more interested in the magic users of the time (what with The Way of Wizards and MtG and all that cal); and so I adjusted my costume to be more plain (like the wizards) but kept my flamboyant color.

As for my personality, came out of a few things. I extremely dislike the flippant superheroic personalities, preferring something closer to a Spiderman sense of responsibility. I also like heroes that are half-villainous, but wanting to be not so evil I made myself an ex-villain. This nicely ties in with my RL personality of wanting to "fix the problem instead of the blame". Weird foods... hey, I like foods that most people don't , and it fits for a character quirk.

Magic abilities... the most recent incarnation. Before, I didn't have them, just lore. (I did this because a lot of wizards don't have any flashy magic abilities, just knowledge.) However, to make my character a bit closer to a "trickster"/Dr. Strange type and keep it from getting too powerful, I gave it magic powers that would be weak if used to be "powerful", and strong if used in a Coyote/Monkey/Trickster fashion to supplement plans. The partial/total summoning thing came from a great webcomic, Tsunami Channel, and its action-segment heroine Magical Mina.

Other background details come from various unfinished stuff. I continue to try and make my character a supporting character, at best. (I sincerely hope I'm not shaming NightFire by continuing to mention him in my description )

Oh yeah! DDay, the name... well, I typed something out at random and it became my name. Eh heh.
