Epic planned a lot of things about Jazz Jackrabbit that never happened and never will happen. If you look at many of the sections of jazzjackrabbit.com, they feature such things as "the game makers vs. the players" and large competitions. I wouldn't get excited over this, but there's still a small chance that it could happen. I wouldn't keep my hopes up, though.
