Here's what they are famous for.
Ed Emberly: Wrote a series of "How to draw" books in which he showed how you can use a total of 7 simple shapes (A circle, a line, a curve, a half-circle, an angle, a dot, and a scribble.) to draw practically anything.
Antonio Prohias: Cuban born. Wrote many anticommunist cartoons before recieving a death threat from Fedel Castro and fleeing to America where he joined up with Mad Magazine and created the duo Spy Vs. Spy. Died in 1999, and I haven't read a Mad magazine since in honor of him- and I never will again.
Jacob Lawrence: A very talented African-american abstract artist. Also died recently(1998, I believe.)
William Hanna: Co founder of Hanna Barbara and creater of such characters as Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo, and Tom and Jerry.
Frank Brunner: An astounding fantisy artist who drew a lot of Howard the Duck comics. I got his autograph just two days ago- he's a nice guy. (I'd try to emulate his work, but I suck at drawing humans.)

Proud to be the 100th, 600th, 666th, and 1000th poster in the "Slime the Poster above you" thread...
Even though I had to cheat... Thank you, The Cheat.
