Backspace+F2, if I remember correctly. It is saved as a .lbm (Electronic Arts Deluxe Paint) file, which can be opened by Paint Shop Pro and other various image programs (you could actually use Deluxe Paint, if you can come across a copy of it). That's at least what I use because I don't have PSP.
