Also try replacing it with a 0. Routers usually only use 1 or 0.
Do you have any idea what kind of router you have? Some obscure ones might have software configuration, but you'll really need to see the manual to use that.
I also want to make sure you are actually on a normal network. Can you post the first two numbers of your IP address?
