I found the name in the winipcfg box. When i opened winipcgf, there was a small box at the top right that said that, under it it said adapter adress, ip adress and subnet mask. As well as default gateway which was blank.

I think i do have a DNS problem, in fact, im sure. In winipcfg, i clicked more info:

Host name:
DNS servers:
Node type:
Netbios scope id:
IP routing enabled........check
Netbios resolution uses DNS......check
WINS proxy enabled........nope
Underneath there was a box filled with info about ethereak adapter. I will ask my father for the manual when he gets home. Thnx

BTW. i did get the right patch. Before my computer was linked with my dad's, the patch worked fine and i was able to play
